Satyaki over powered Dron.He earned his praises and entered the Vyuha. The desciple of Arjun followed the route that Arjun went and found heaps of dead bodies of elephants,horses and warriors. He wondered at the intensity with which Arjun fought that day. Surely Indra's son will kill Jayathrath before sunset. He thought.

Duryothan felt deceived on seeing Satyaki also enter the Vyuha successfully. He blamed Drona for looking on while his rivals are progressing rapidly.Drona asked him to be alert with Jayathrath." The protection ring should do their duty properly.As for Satyaki entering the Vyuha,how could you suppose that your rivals won't try to fulfill their purpose.You ask Aswathama,Kripa,Salya,Vrishasena,and Karna to protect Jayathrath from Arjun.I will try to capture Yudhi with the help of Dussasan"

Duryothan came back and asked his Maharathis to stay alert and prevent Arjun from reaching Jayathrath.But Arjun continued his slaughter of Kurus ,Kambhojas,Nishadas,and others who came on his way to Jayathrath.At that time Krishna showed Satyaki at a distance,fighting and crushing his rivals with great force." Parth,your desciple entered the Vyuha,humbled Drona for your sake. Now he is fighting with Bhurisravas who is his strong rival. Having fought vigorously all along,Satyaki looks tired.I am worried on seeing Bhurisravas prevailing over a tired Satyaki," Krishna's words made Arjun worry about Yudhishtir

Arjun expressed his anguish." Madhav! GutuDron took a vow to capture Eldest. I entrusted Eldest to Satyaki's care and asked him not to leave his side.Why should he come here? Right now I can't divert myself from Jayathrath.My whole attention is on him only."

Krishna observed Bhurisravas dominating Satyaki with his prowess. Exhausted Satyaki is trying his best to sustain himself.Suddenly Bhurisravas pressed Satyaki on to the ground and raised. His sword to finish him off.Krishna saw that and agitated addressed Arjun.' Parth! Satyaki is in danger. He will lose his life having come to assist you on the order of Yudhishtir. If that happens it will be a disgrace to you. Protect your dear desciple Parth. You only can save him from death. Make it fast."

Arjun side glanced Satyaki who is crushed on the ground and is about to die. He took a long shaft shining with feathers and shot it fast.The arrow released from Gandiv cut the hand of Bhurisravas with clean precision. The hand with the sword fell on the ground.Bhurisravas was in shock and turned towards Arjun.' Son of Kunti! I am not fighting with you. Still you attacked me from another side? You know the rules of war. Still you did this censurable thing? I wonder at what you had done ."

Arjun replied sharply.' I know the rules of war. It is not like one warrior is fighting with one and others are not interfering.If the need is there every one is coming to the rescue of others. I feel bad for you. But Satyaki is dearer to me and at any cost I will save him. I have a vow to save my people who are in danger if they happen to be in my vicinity. I want to ask you what code of conduct is followed in attacking my child Abhi yesterday. All of you together killed him who is weapon less.Today every one will endure the result of that misdeed. Sir! I advise you to try and follow the ways of great people and reach the celestial regions that you deserve. You fulfilled your duty of a Kshatriya already."

Bhurisravas reconciled and sat in meditation to leave his body through yoga.But Satyaki stood erect and with a sword cut the head of Bhrisravas and took revenge.Every one around him,blamed Satyaki for that wretched action.

Yudhishtir called Bheema and said." Your brother penetrated into the Vyuha without support. As I could not hear the notes of Devdutta since a long time I sent Satyaki to reach him and help him.But I could not get any information regarding him also.

Your brother Arjun is too handsome,youthful,curly haired and with the gait of infuriated elephant he excels in beauty and wins hearts. Syamo Yuva Gudakeso,...He has copper brown (Hazel) eyes that enhance his beauty a lot. Without that Arjun we are lifeless. He is the boat sailing on which we cross the ocean of our sufferings. Bheem.! I am desparate to know about his well being. You only are capable to achieve this for me. You go to the two Krishna's and roar like a lion. On hearing that I will understand Arjun is safe and sound."

Bheema agreed to go to Arjun and assured his brother." Don't worry. I will let you know of Jishnu who is unconquerable even to gods

Drona took the opportunity and attacked Yudhi to fulfill his vow. After a fierce battle,Drona defeated Yudhishtir and wounded him severely. Yudhishtir ran away and ascended Sahadev's chariot that took him away .

Bheema faced Drona who is at the entrance of Sakata Vyuha. Drona laughed at him and said.' Your brother Arjun penetrated into the Vyuha with my consent.What would you do?" Bheema got angry and retorted." Arjun never needed anyone's consent to go anywhere.He overpowered you and sped fast, And also I am not Arjun who will be ever obedient to you. I will show you my might for sure."

Bheema defeated Drona and entered the Vyuha much to the dissatisfaction of Duryothan.Afterwards Bheema fought with Karna and made him chariot less.Karna ran away and got into Vrishasen's chariot.Duryothan blamed Drona." How could you allow Satyaki and Bheem inside? Is it not unworthy of a great teacher like you to do so"

Drona replied desparately.' Today a different kind of game is played in the battleground.The special stake is Jayathrath.You and Arjun are playing this different game of dice.Your duty is to protect Jayathrath from Arjun.Go and do that well. I will try to capture Yudhi.

Bheema killed seven of Kaurava brothers before Karna's eyes.Karna got furious and again came to fight with Bheema.But unable to pierce Bheema Karna hid from Bheema and again came out and continued his fight.After some time Bheema got exhausted and tried to take respite by hiding behind the dead bodies of elephants.Karna reached him and ridiculed him." You are obsessed with overeating.You should go to the forest and be a sage or sit at home and eat to your heart's fill.Or go to Krishna and Arjun there. But don't try to fight with me."

Krishna observed how Karna insulted Bheema and alerted Arjun.Then Arjun showered so many arrows on Karna and made him run away . Arjun shot fire tipped arrows on Karna but Aswathama saved Karna from them.Arjun threatened Aswathama to stop there but he was afraid and hid behind the heaps of elephants.Bheema got onto his chariot and reached Arjun with a dull face.

Even Satyaki fought with Karna and wounded him severely.Bheema told Arjun the bad words uttered by Karna to him.Arjun pacified him." Bhrata Bheem,if he blamed you it means he blamed me also.I will give him a suitable reply.You just be there."

Then Arjun approached Karna and fired him." Karna,just now everyone saw how you were defeated by Bhrata Bheem.You ran away without shame.Did Bheema say anything to you? Why are you so boastful? Even Satyaki defeated you a minute before.You behaved as per your Charecter.You are the one who broke my Abhi's bow from backside.But I will kill your son Vrishasen before your eyes.And not only that Whoever harassed my son I will punish them all that is my word."

Having said so Arjun shot fifteen arrows.Karna shot sixty arrows on Arjun.Arjun then shot hundred arrows and Karna's body got severely wounded and blood stricken.Karna then shot one fifty arrows on Arjun. Jishnu got angry and broke the bow of Karna.

With nine arrows he struck on his chest.With another sharp edged arrow Arjun pierced Karna fatally.Duryothan sent his army to assist Karna.Arjun killed Karna's horses and charioteer.He then shot many arrows on Karna and Karna felt severe pain all over his body . Aswathama came to the rescue of Karna and took him away from Arjun.

Sankar shiv smiled at Uma Parvati." Why are you so tensed up Uma,you know every one's destiny.Still you are ...Parvati stopped him in the middle.' Swami.I know it. But still sun is going to set. Arjun is immersed in battle ,he looked like you swami at the time of Tripurasur battle.But not much time is left. I can't bear to see Panchali,Subhadra and Uttara grieve over Abhi. Atleast with Arjun's victory they will feel redeemed."

Shiv made Parvati sit beside him. He pacified her." Uma,Arjun has Shiv Tej also. So you felt he looked like me. As for Jayathratah his time is over. Very soon Arjun will fulfill his vow."

In Kuru Kshetr Duryothan got desparate and approached Karn. He said." Mitr, Only a short period is left for Sunset. If we restrict Arjun from killing Jayathrath all our problems will be over. Arjun will enter fire. Then it is too easy to win the Pandavas. We all should try hard for that.Please fight with full energy.

Then Karna went ahead and faced Arjun.He shot sixty arrows on Arjun who retorted with hundred arrows.Karna then shot five hundred arrows.Arjun became furious and broke the bow of Karna.He shot nine arrows on Karna's chest and wounded him severely.

Arjun then picked a sharp shaft that could pierce Karna and extract his life energy.Aswathama saved Karna from that deadly shaft with Artha Chandra arrow.In the meanwhile Karna took another bow and shot at Arjun.

After a fierce battle Arjun killed Karna's charioteer,and wounded him severely.Aswathama got Karna into his chariot and along with Salya,Vrishasena,Kripa attacked Arjun But Jishnu tackled them and shot at Jayathrath who is behind these warriors.

Arjun fired continuously stretching his Gandiv fully and made Duryothan's army run with terror .

The celestials watched Arjun with awe and thought he is Rudrahimself at the end of yuga.

Jayathrath picked up courage and shot arrows on Arjun. That is the limit thought Arjun. He immediately killed Jayathrath's charioteer and struck his banner that fell on the ground.Kaurava army shivered with fear.

The protective wing looked as if they were spellbound on seeing Arjun strike Jayathrath despite their presence.

IKaurava army got frightened on hearing the twang of Gandiv and could not venture to fight with Jishnu.No one could see when he took the arrow,when he fixed it and when he released it.Arjun then wanted to finish off his rival in time and to do that he should clear off the army and the Protection ring.

Arjun then invoked Aindrastra with due mantras.With the power of that Astra many blazing shafts flew from it.Thousands of Kaurava warriors lost their lives and their bodies covered the earth causing heartbreak to Duryothan.Arjun looked resplendent just like blazing fire with incessant Sparks and rising flames.Jishnu who could not swallow the death of his dearest son fought like never before.The whole battle field is filled with either dead or unconscious soldiers.It looked like the sporting ground of Shiv at the time of the end of yuga.

Around Dhananjay the river of blood started flowing like Vaitarani river that exists on way to hell.Arjun sent formidable warriors to heaven within seconds by means of his fierce shafts.The speed with which Krishna drove the chariot and the lightness of hand exhibited by Jishnu made every one awestruck with fear.

The warriors felt Arjun wherever they see around. As Arjun proceeded towards Jayathrath Kuru warriors lost hope of him.Now the protection wing covered Jayathrath desparately and tried to prevent Arjun.But soon they realised they can not stop Arjun that day. Arjun shot fifty arrows on Aswathama twenty on Vrishasen,Karna with thirty two Kripa with nine and Salya with sixteen.Finding a gap Arjun shot sixty arrows on Jayathrath and roared like a lion.

Jayathrath on his turn boldly shot six arrows on Krishna and six on Arjun.Next moment Arjun killed his charioteer with ten shafts and created terror in the hearts of every one around.Arjun then continuously showered arrows on the protection wing that consisted of Karna,Kripa ,Salya,Vrishasena,Aswathama and Duryothan.He pierced Karna with fifty,Kripa with ten,Duryothan with six,Salya with ten and Vrishasena with twenty.In reply all those warriors showered shafts continuously on Indra's son.With those incessant showers Jishnu became furious and slaughtered them with deadly shafts released from Gandiv.

The six famous warriors ,hurt severely by Jishnu abandoned Jayathrath and fled away from Arjun.They fled in such a manner that no two persons could be seen flying together.Celestials hailed Jishnu saying that such battle was never fought before and nor would it be fought in future.

Krishna alerted Jishnu." Parth. Hurry up. Little time only is left for Sunset. I will create illusion by hiding the Sun through my yogic powers. Jayathrath will become visible with that. Take that opportunity and strike him instantly.But don't let the head fall on the ground. I will tell you why."

Arjun nodded his head and geared up to avenge his son by fulfilling his oath.

Suddenly the Sun is covered creating the feeling of Sunset in the battlefield.The Warriors were in confusion over the sudden change and then realised they won the game.The six warriors protecting Jayathrath relaxed and shouted with joy.Jayathrath had a triumphant smile on his face. He won his life. Arjun lost the game. Duryothan clapped his hands and challenged Arjun." Now keep your promise. Enter the fire. You failed in your mission."

Krishna smiled at Arjun and said." Go ahead Parth." Arjun 's grip on Gandiv tightened. He pierced Kripa with nine arrows,Karna with fifteen,Salya and Duryothan with twenty and Vrishasena with twenty five.He shot sixty arrows on Jayathrath The protectors of Jayathrath were sorely puzzled.

The Six warriors showered arrows on Indra's son who was in rage.Arjun slaughtered them and made them run for their lives leaving Jayathrath.Arjun then destroyed Duryothan's army around Jayathrath with his deadly shafts.The protection officers again made their attempt to resist Arjun in vain.

Arjun broke Karna and Vrishasena's bows and pierced Kripa and Aswathama severely. He killed the driver of Salya He wounded Duryothan who is fuming with disappointment. Then Jishnu fixed a long shaft on his bow that looked like the thunderbolt of Indra.

Krishna instructed him." Let the head of Jayathrath fall on the lap of Vriddhakshatra,Jayathratha's father doing penance outside Samanta Panchaka. When Jayathrath was born Akash Vani predicted that he will be killed by the best warrior of the times in the battle field. Then Vriiddha Kshatra with his power pronounced that whoever makes his son's head fall on the ground his head will break into hundred pieces. So Parth,carefully throw the head on Vriddhakshatra's lap. I know nothing is impossible for you to accomplish. Do it fast."

Arjun infused the arrow with mantras and shot it with such precision that it neatly severed the head of Jayathrath .Arjun then kept the head in the sky by sending shafts in support and all these while tackled the warriors as well as army.Finally he sent the head away from Kurukshetr with his powerful shafts that carried it outside Samanta Panchak.

The head straightly went and fell on the lap of Vridfha Kshatra who is meditating with closed eyes.As the head suddenly fell on his lap,Vrittha kshatra got up without observing what it is. As soon as the head touched the ground Vriddhakshatra's head cracked into hundred pieces.The sun appeared in the sky shining with evening lustre.

Panchali desparately stared into the sky and expressed her anger." Surya Narayan,you should not set before my husband fulfills his vow. How can you do so? My husband is rightfully avenging our Abhi who was killed by fraud. You should stand by him."

The next moment Panchali could not believe her eyes as Sun appeared in the sky in orange red shining with splendour. Within a moment,the victory band was heard . The bards praises reached Panchali's ears.

They are praising the unparalleled warrior with superlatives.Arjun,Phalgun,Parth,Kiriti,Swetavahana,Dhananjaya,Bhibhatsa,Savyasachi,Vijaya,Jishnu conquered the whole Kaurava army and killed Jayathrath.He killed seven Akshouhinis of Kaurava army single handedly defeating the stalwarts like Dron,Kripa,Karna,Aswathama. Salya,Duryothan Vrishasen and Dussasan.

Panchali could not control herself. Tears blurred her vision and Subhadra ran to her and hugged her close crying all the while.

On seeing the slain body of Jayathrath Kripacharya attacked Arjun with showers of arrows.Aswathama joined him and exhibited his wrath by fiercely shot shafts .Arjun carelessly responded to them by showering mild shafts.Still they pierced his opponents fatally making Kripa swoon in his chariot.Aswathama fled away from Arjun.on seeing Kripa unconscious

Arjun wailed before Krishna." Fie on me Madhav. I struck my teacher like this.I hate my deed Madhav! Why should I be born Kshatriya" Krishna consoled him . " Parth don't grieve like that. You did your duty. Other than that nothing else should matter."

At that moment again a great battle happened between Karna and Bheema. Karna became careless and ascended another one and dominated Bheema. He again said harsh words to Bheema who reported that to Arjun." Dhananjay I would have killed him but spared him as you vowed to kill him.But I was hurt by his words. Do something."

Arjun approached Karna and chided him." Karna you were spared by me,by Bheema and by Satyaki today.Still you boast your own greatness. You are the one who broke my Abhi's bow from behind.Now I again promise. I will kill Vrishasena before your eyes.Then your turn will come. I hope Duryothan will repent seeing you lying in the field. "

When Arjun said thus clearly the sun set in western horizon.Krishna stood in his chariot and hugged him with love and affection. " Parth you achieved the most difficult task today. You avenged the death of our Abhi. See the battle ground bears testimony for your unparalleled valour."

Arjun had tears in his eyes.He said in a broken voice.' How could you attribute this success to me? Without you I wouldn't have been able to do anything.your grace on me brought success."

Krishna smiled and patted him." Parth,you deserve applause. The way you fought today not even Sankar shiv could have bore your valour. You are outstanding today. You know how much army Duryothan lost today because of you? Seven Akshouhinis. Is it a simple feat? Now don't be too humble. Take the credit. You deserve it."

Arjun stammered with tears. " what is the use? I won't get my Abhi back no? I won't see his smiling face again.I won't see him greet me when I return in the evening."

Krishna took his face in his hands and wiped his tears. He showed the sky." Parth . He is there. He witnessed your great valour and he is jumping and clapping. Don't you have faith in me?"

Krishna stopped unable to continue. He has moisture in his eyes. His dearest nephew whom he brought up like his own son.his Parth's life support left them forever. Krishna closed his eyes and smiled.Even God has emotions.heart break.But he should not show it.

For the sake of his Parth.who still has so much to do. He should be calm and composed. God like. Krishna took the reins in hand and said." Let us go Parth,to Eldest.to Subhadra and to Krishnaa." The horses galloped fast,carrying the two Krishnas across the battlefield that stood as the symbol of their triumph,the victory that never seen or happened before.

The whole story of Jayathrath vadh was penned by me by taking Bori Critical Edition as the source.

The reason for describing this here is the inseparable bond that shone through the most crucial day of the war . The comradiare,the love and the commitment exhibited by both stands unique . It traces back to their original relationship shared when they were Nar and Narayan.

It hurts when people try to form their own interpretation of Krishna's association with diffeent charecters.Case in point Surya Putr Karn show that highlighted Krishna as Karna's friend,philosopher and guide.

Arjun took oath that may cost his life. More than Arjun Krishna is worried. He can not live in a world devoid of his Parth. That is the eternal truth revealed by Lord himself.

Loka Yatra Vidhanartham Sanjayete Yuge Yuge.

Vyasa in Drona Parva again reveals the identity of Krishna and Arjuna . He tells Aswathama that they are ancient sages born to fulfill their purpose in the world.

Vyasa also tells the power of worshipping lingaswarup Mahadev compared with Murti swarup Mahadev.

The event occurs after the death of Drona on the fifteenth day of the war.
