Yudhishtir desparately expressed his concern before his brothers and Krishna." Certainly Drona will consume all of us in battle.None of us can even look at him except Arjun.But he will not fight with him wholeheartedly. "

Krishna looked at Arjuna and said." Your Guru Dron can not be vanquished unless he puts aside his weapons in battle field.But he will do it if he hears of Aswathama's death."

Arjun 's face became pale and he disapproved the idea Convinced by Krishna Yudhishtir accepted the idea and looked at Bheema.

With great might Bheema killed an elephant called Aswathama with his mace.He then approached Drona and said." Aswathama has been slain in battle."

Drona's limbs stopped supporting him. He leaned on the pole of the chariot.He then tried to recover thinking of Aswathama's invincibility .He rushed towards Srinjayas and Panchalas and slaughtered them looking like Rudra at the end of the world.

Viswamitra,Vasishta,Kasyapa Atri and others appeared in the sky visible only to Drona and advised him to cease fighting and lay aside his weapons." Drona,you behaved unlike a Brahmin. You used Brahmastra on innocent Kshatriyas.Now time has come for you to stop these sinful acts that are not suitable to a Brahmin."

Then Drona saw Bheema and Dhrisht Dyumn before him and became cheerless.He remembered Bheema's words about his son.He then approached Yudhishtir and said." Tell me O Yudhishtir.Is it true that what Bheema uttered just now? I want to hear from you."

Krishna then told Yudhi in a low voice." I am telling you. Your Guru is capable of annihilating your whole army. There is no sin if you tell untruth to save your people."

Bheema urged his Eldest." I just killed an elephant called Aswathama. So you won't incur sin if you say so.Follow the word of Kanha. Save our people."

Fearing to utter an untruth but earnestly desirous of victory Yudhishtir distinctly said." Aswathama was dead." He then added in a low voice." An elephant."

Drona heard his words and plunged in grief.He became cheerless and distressed.At that moment Dhrishtdyumn started fighting with Drona who reciprocated his attack halfheartedly.

Bheemsen got angry and ridiculed Dron." You seem to doubt the words of Yudhishtir the just. But know the truth . Your son was no more.

Drona felt dejected and addressed Duryothan." Yuvraj Duryothan.I am quitting the battle. I keep aside my weapons."

Then Drona sat on the terrace of his chariot and resorted to yoga.He went into a tranquilled state and fixed his mind on the Supreme being.Drona then was able to free his soul from his body and left for heavenly regions

.Only five people witnessed that wonderful event the soul of Drona flying higher leaving his body. They are Krishna,Arjun,Aswathama,Sanjaya and Yudhishtir.

Dhrishtdyumn then jumped on to Drona's chariot and with sword in hand became ready to cut off his head,

Arjun alone with tears in eyes cried out to Dhrishtdyumn." Bring my Guru here. Dhrisht don't slay him" Dhrisht disregarded Arjun's cries and chopped off Drona's head from his body.

Bheemsen embraced Dhrisht and hailed him.You did a great thing Dhrisht.I am relieved now

The Kuru army started running away on seeing the slaughter of the preceptor.Aswathama was informed about the way his father was cheated by Pandavas taking his name.

Aswathama trembled with anger and shouted." Yuvraj. I will make Dharma's son repent for his misdeed.I will show Dhrishtdyumn what I can do to him.There is none in this world equal to me and Arjuna in the knowledge of weapons.I got the most powerful Narayanastra from my father.I will hurl it against Pandavas. They should endure the result of their wretched deed.

The NARAYANASTRA was invoked,violent winds started blowing Thunder was heard in the sky without clouds.A certain darkness pervaded the battle field.The nature looked tremendously agitated.

The Pandava army shivered with fear and lost their courage.

Yudhishtir was terrified and asked Arjun." What is happening Arjun? Who is striking us now? I am scared on seeing the change in atmosphere."

Arjun replied in a bitter voice." It is Aswathama Eldest.In consequence of the slaughter of his father,he is ready to burn us alive.He believed that you will never tell untruth to him. But you betrayed his belief. Even though I cried again and again Dhrisht did that wretched act of killing my Guru. Now all of us combined together can not save him from Aswathama's wrath.Our dear preceptor had been slain for the sake of short lived Soverienity.I tell you. We are unrighteous.Even I betrayed my dear Guru. He thought that Arjun will stand by him come what may. But I could not stop Dhrisht. I will sink into hell for failing my Guru.Fie on me."

Bheema approached Arjun and reprimanded him." Enough of your Guru Bhakti Arjun. This dear preceptor of you stood motionless when your wife was dragged in the court and humiliated.You must have forgotten the loss he caused to our side but I won't . I never regret anything done today. He is my rival. That's all.

Dhrisht then argued with Arjun." Dhananjay! In what angle he looked like a Brahmin ? He is ruthless. He used celestial weapons on innocent soldiers. After entering the battle field we should not count with whom we are fighting. And that is why you slaughtered your own grandfather. Don't forget my birth itself happened for the slaughter of Drona. I still can not negate you harshly because of Draupadi,my sister is your wife.But I can tell you soon victory will be yours. Don't regret now."

Madhav's Parth still had tears in his eyes and reminisced his Guru Dron and his affection.' Forgive me Gurudev. Forgive your Arjun."He prayed in his heart.

Satyaki sided with Arjun and blamed Dhrisht with harsh words. Both the warriors lost control and became ready to strike each other with weapons. Krishna,Yudhishtir and Sahadev pacified them in time.

In the mean while the Narayanastra invoked by Aswathama blazed like the Sun and created innumerable weapons that struck Pandava army.That great Astra consumed the Pandava forces and created havoc within minutes

.Yudhishtir felt agitated and said thus in a sarcastic manner." Dhrishtdyumn flee with your Panchal army.Satyaki take your Anthakas and Vrishnis and leave the battlefield. The great Vasudeva will do whatever he wants. I with my brothers will ascend the funeral pyre.Let Duryothan be crowned as the king.As Arjun said I am at fault being the reason for Drona's death. That Drona who did not say a word during the dice game and when Draupadi was iinsulted.That Drona who planned Chakravyuh and caused child Abhi's death.Good for me. I will immolate myself in the fire of Aswathama.

Arjun desparately looked at Krishna unable to bear the distress of his Eldest.Krishna stood in the chariot and ordered the Pandava warriors to lay down their weapons,standing on the ground.He said." Submit before Narayanastra. That is the only way to save your lives."

Every one followed Krishna's words and submitted themselves before Narayanastra except Bheema,who said." Arjun I will face Narayanastra with my mace. You also should not put aside your Gandiva."

Arjun answered with composure." Bhrata Bheem I won't use my Gandiv against Narayanastra,Cows and Brahmins. That is my vow."

Immediately the Narayanastra left every one around and fell upon Bheema.Bheema's chariot was covered by the blazing fire of Narayanastra.Arjun instantly invoked Varuna weapon and covered Bheema with it.That deed of Arjun was not visible to anyone else but Krishna.

Still Aswathama's Astra kept itself ablaze around Bheem as he still held his weapon in hand.

Then Krishna and Arjun ran towards Bheema and dived into the fire created by Narayanastra.

The fire did not harm them as they had no weapons and also due to the power of Varunastra and much due to the energy possessed by Nar,Narayan.

Krishna and Arjuna dragged Bheema on to the ground making him get rid of his weapons.Bheema roared like a lion but Krishna and Arjun made him lie down. Within a minute Narayanastra got pacified.

Aswathama stood stupefied .He can not use Narayanastra again.that is prohibited.

Duryothan felt disappointed and urged Aswathama to hurl another Divyastr and destroy the Pandavas.

Aswathama fought fiercely and defeated Satyaki,Bheema and Dhrisht. He also killed young prince of Chedi and looked like the eleventh Rudra.

Arjun faced Aswathama and challenged him for a dual. Aswathama afflicted by wrath touched water and invoked the fierce Agneya Astra and made every one struck by fear.The universe seemed to be in fever scorched by heat.The Pandava army started burning due to the fire created by Agneyastr.

Arjun invoked Brahmastr capable of baffling every other weapon.Within a moment fire extinguished and cool winds started blowing much to the relief of Pandava side.

The Kaurava warriors who thought that Krishna and Arjun must have gone were shocked to see them unwounded and unscratched.

Aswathama felt dejected and left the battlefield. He could not understand why his Agneyastr failed to harm the two Krishna's.

Vyasa appeared before him and explained." Aswathama.Krishna is Narayan himself.He is the supreme deity who created Nar his soulmate equal to him in energy and power. Those two did severe penance at Badarivan. Now both of them incarnated as Krishna and Arjun to relieve the burden of earth.

They always indulge in the worship of Shiv Sankar. They worship ling Swarup Mahadev while you worship Sankar in his sakar Swaroop.Due to their devotion Shiv made them invincible.Dont feel bad. No one can vanquish them at all."

Aswathama sighed with despair and bowed before the sage.

As the Sun set in the western horizon,both sides ceased fighting and retired from the battle field.

The battlefield is illuminated by hundreds of lamp at that night time. It looked like the sky at night time.with stars.The warriors got confused whether they are fighting with their own people or with their rivals.As night advanced the soldiers failed to control their sleep. Their weapons started falling from their hands.

Arjun observed their condition and addressed them kindly." All of you take rest for a while and then resume fighting. It will be good for you all." He looked at Drona and found his Gurudev nod his head in approval.The soldiers lied down wherever they stationed.

After the predecided time is over the soldiers got up feeling fresh and energetic.The Kaurava soldiers felt grateful to Arjun and wholeheartedly blessed him." He Third Pandav,He Jishnu.your concern for even your rivals is never seen before nor would be seen hereafter. We are thankful to you.He Arjun we bless you wholeheartedly. May your every wish be fulfilled. May you always be victorious."

Duryothan got frustrated,and nailed Drona." Your Arjun is winning battles without raising his bow Gurudev," Dron smiled with appreciation." Yes. Arjun is golden hearted.He is special"

Krishna heard that and teased Arjun." Parth you are special your rivals are praising."

Arjun smiled and said." He is not my rival. He is my Gurudev. Any way I agree I am special. Who will have the great Krishna Vaasudev as the friend,philosopher and guide? Who can have the good fortune of having you in my chariot?" Krishna patted his back and took the reigns in hand.

Drishtadyumn fought with Karna and tried his best to overpower him. Karn killed Dhrisht's horses and charioteer.Dhrisht got into Arjun's chariot and again tried to advance against Karna.

Duryothan asked Sakuni and his son Uluka to face Arjun taking ten thousand car warriors. Arjun roared with anger and destroyed the whole ten thousand army just like fire burning cotton.

Arjun pierced Uluka severely and made Sakuni chariot less.Sakuni got into Uluka's chariot and both of them fled shamelessly.

In the mean while Karna attacked Panchala army and started destroying them with great energy. His arrows flew in all directions and made Panchalas run for their lives.Yudhishtir approached Arjun and expressed his fear for Karna." Arjun are you watching the way Karna is slaughtering our army? Tonight he looks fearful. Now time has arrived for you to think about his death. Do that as soon as possible."

Arjun got miffed and told Krishna." You heard the words of Eldest.I won't tolerate Karna strike my army before my eyes. Now let us proceed towards Karna."

Krishna said." Parth! No one can advance against Karna except yourself.But considering he has Sakti weapon given by your father it is advisable to send Ghatotkacha against him.He will tackle Karna with his Demonic powers."

Ghatotkacha came and saluted the two Krishnas and said." At your service" .

Krishna blessed him and said." Son of Hidimba Time has arrived to bring glory to your father. Use your might and I know Rakshasas will possess more power at night time. Go and slay Karna who is burning the Pandava army."

Arjun blessed him and said." Go my son. Satyaki will be your chariot protector. Bheemsen himself will accompany you. Go and make us proud by beating that Karn. I will stop Drona from supporting Karna."

After Ghatotkacha left Arjun fumed at himself and cornered Krishna." Madhav why should I fear the Sakti weapon? Did I not vanquish him when I pursued Jayathrath? Why should Ghatotkacha go to fight Karna? Am I not capable?"

Krishna pacified Arjun." Parth,listen carefully.When your father Indra bestowed Sakti weapon to Karna he said he can give anything except his Vajra." Arjun interrupted." He gave Vajra to me. It is the most powerful weapon of my father."

Krishna said." Yes Parth.you have Vajra and Karna has Sakti.So when Karna uses Sakti against you it is obvious that you have to use Vajra on him.Apart from Vajra you have the most powerful astras Brahma sir and Pasupat."

Arjun nodded." Yes. But if I hurl them The whole world will get smashed.Not only that the fourteen worlds will get effected. So they should not be used against mere mortals."

Krishna smiled and said." There are only two ways. Either you have to succumb before Karna's Sakti.or you have to use your more power full astras to destroy his Sakti weapon.If you opt for the first one this dharma Yuddh will end there itself.The Empire of dharma won't get established.If you opt for the second one and use Divyastras everything around will get destroyed."

Arjun looked confused." What should I do Madhav. I don't want to make my father's weapon fruitless. His word to Karna should be kept. I can not be the reason to destroy the creation itself by Pasupat or Brahmasir."

Krishna smiled and said." Now don't think too much.Every thing happens as per the fate.Did I not tell you Karmanyevadhikaraste Maa phaleshu Kadachana. Do your deed. Don't think about result. Now let us go and tackle your GuruDron,Dron Sishya Arjun." Madhav's Parth smiled and took Gandiv in his hand.

Ghatotkacha's death brought gloom in Pandava side. The five brothers wept thinking of Gahtotkacha's valour and his courage. The Kaurava side rejoiced but Duryothan could not digest the fact that Karna's Vasavi Sakti killed some one other than Arjun.

He asked Karna." Friend,since five days you are fighting here. You came face to face with Arjun everyday.Then why didn't you hurl the Sakti on him? You should have remembered that weapon atleast when you were overpowered by Dhananjay while protecting Jayathrath. If Arjun died with that there wouldn't be any Ghatotkacha to slaughter us. Krishna will follow Arjun,so do others. What is the reason for your negligence?"

Karna stared in confusion and stammered." Every day I used to make a resolution that I will slay Arjun with Sakti. But as soon as I enter the field I used to forget my decision. I am totally confused. The Sakti weapon was wasted on insignificant Ghatotkacha."

Sakuni muttered under his breath." I am sure. Vaasudev created this illusion for you. He must have done something to make you forget about Sakti weapon."

At that moment exactly Satyaki posed the same question to Krishna." Why didn't Karna use it on Arjun till now! What would have been done if he did so.?"

Every one waited for Krishna's answer.Krishna got up placed his hand round the shoulders of Jishnu and said." I made Karn forget about using Sakti on Arjum.I created illusion."

Arjun smirked." Madhav,why did you do so? Am I not capable to tackle that Sakti? It is an insult to my prowess."

Krishna smiled and continued." My dear Parth, you are capable. We discussed it earlier. Tell me do you want to negate your father's special Weapon and bring I'll fame to him?"

Arjun nodded his head " never. I would rather submit myself to honour his weapon."

Krishna continued." Satyaki,Parth has greater astras like Pasupat,Brahmasir and Vajr to counter that Sakti. But if he hurls them the universe will get destroyed along with Sakti weapon.To avoid such disaster Karna's Sakti should be utilised in another way.Unfortunately Ghatotkacha became a victim today,But Arjun is saved from Sakti and from being the cause for universal destruction. I very well know he would prefer to sacrifice himself than cause destruction all over.

Krishna then hugged Arjun and stated loudly." I swear,my father,my brother,my wives,sons and all of you put together can not be equal to Parth for me. He is the most precious one for me. If there is any pleasure offered to me that is greater than the three worlds I would like to share it with Parth only.I could never see the earth devoid of Parth even for a second.Today I consider him to be reborn. Now no one can stop Karna's death at Arjun's hands. I did not sleep even thinking of this Sakti and the way to destroy it without causing harm to the universe. Now I will sleep happily."

Arjun had tears in his eyes.He clung to Krishna's neck and exclaimed." Do I deserve this much love from you?I am humbled."

Krishna smiled." You only deserve my love.There are no two ways about it."

Satyaki clapped his hands and hailed." Jai Krishn,Jai Jishnu."

Necheyam Satvataham Tadvina Partham Dhananjayam.

" Even the luxury of the three worlds is not acceptable to me without Dhananjay Parth."

Krishna again confessed that Arjun is dearer to him than any one else. Narayan's Nar occupied the most coveted position in the heart of him,who is the Almighty. Such good fortune can't be there for anyone else. Krishna's love for Arjun is unique,unparalleled.

GITA.. The Devine Song that stood as the testimony of Krishna's love for Arjun...what happened on that eventful day at Kurukshetr? What made the Lord himself unveil the essence of Spiritual knowledge?

People of all generations are blessed with the grace of Lord who showered his immense love on his Parth by making him the medium to impart the great treasure of knowledge.

Nar and Narayan in one chariot that too in conversation with each other for a Devine purpose

Gita happened because of Arjun.

Krishna reminded Arjun of his reality on this occasion also.

Just wish to visit that auspicious moment with regard and humility.

Dhritarashtra asked Sanjaya to narrate the incidents at Kurukshetra with the Devine vision he got by the blessings of VedVyas.Sanjaya told him how Yudhishtir walked to Pitamah GuruDron and Kripa and sought their blessings. All the three wished him victory in war.

The blind king was miffed and said. ' I know Sanjay they are fighting on our side but they wish well for Pandavas.Now tell me the war happenings

.Dharma Kshetre Kurukshetre Samaveta ...

Mamakah Pandavachaiva Kimakurvata Sanjaya"

Sanjay concentrated and described thus.' Maharaj Listen to me what I had been fortunate to witness ,the conversation between Krishna and Arjun..." Krishna drove the chariot to the middle of the armies to enable Arjun see both the sides. Ofcourse he did it on the behest of Arjun.But what happened then? History had been created in that crucial moment.

Arjun looked at his Pitamah,GuruDron and others with concern and kindness He looked at his friend who is rock steady in his driver seat.He placed his hand on his shoulder as if to gain support.Arjun said in a feeble voice.'

Drishtvaimam ... Madhav,My body is shivering and my mouth dries up on seeing my relatives and friends who are gearing up for war.My skin is burning Gandiv is slipping from my hand.I can't even stand.Na Cha Sreyonu pasyami...I can't understand Madhav what benefit I will have by killing my own people.I don't even desire the pleasures of kingdom.Madhav I see my Pitamah GuruDron my cousins and others standing against me . Even though they want to kill me I don't want to kill them.The lure of three worlds also can't make me fight.If I kill my wicked cousins,I incur sin.How can I be happy after killing my own people? If our clan is lost our tradition will get lost.If Dhritarashtra's sons kill me it is fine.I am ready to die Madhav,but I won't fight."

Arjun collapsed in his seat throwing away Gandiv and quivers.He is sad. He is confused. He is indecisive.Krishna looked at his dearest Parth who is in need of him.Yes the moment has arrived. His soulmate should be enlightened.

..Govind smiled at his emotional cousin,friend,devotee and stood in the chariot spreading his splendour all around.

Krishna looked at Arjun with affection and compassion.He then asked showering his grace on Arjun.' Kutastva kasmalamidam Vishame Samupasthitam." Jishnu,From where did you get such despicable thought? It will bring I'll fame to you.You have to fight at any cost."

Arjun nodded his head with impatience.' No. I won't fight Madhav.Look at him. He is my Pitamah. In my childhood I used to climb into his lap with dirty feet. He never scolded me. He pampered me like I was his own son. How can I shoot him with an arrow? I see no pleasure in that. And my Guru?

He loved me more than his own son Aswathama. How can I wound him? And my foolish cousins. How can I send them to the land of death? No way. Never." Arjun firmly stated his feelings and became silent.

He has tears in his eyes.Krishna spoke with a strange calmness that Arjun never saw before.' You mourn for those who are already dead? Do you think there was ever a time when you were not there or I was not there? You think with death all those kings cease to exist?Never.Every one is always there in Eternity."

Arjun did not get convinced.' Let them have it all. I don't like to eat blood stained food. Madhav don't persuade me to fight. I won't." Arjun looked into Krishna's eyes and found them deep like ocean and distant as he never felt before.

Arjun persisted.' I can not fight. I am confused. I don't know what my dharma is.Karpanya Doshopahata Swabhavah Prichami Tvam Dharma Sammodha chetah. I lost my peace of mind. I was disillusioned.Madhav,Guide me further.Instruct me my dharma.I can't decide by myself.But I remind you I can not kill my Elders for selfish reasons.

" Arjun took resort to silence having said thus.The future of Aryavartha hung in balance.If Arjun refuses to fight the Devine plan set by Krishna to reduce the burden of earth will not get fulfilled

.Krishna took Arjun's hand into his.' Parth listen to me.Happiness and Sorrow will come after one another like winter and Summer.An intelligent person should not grieve both,Such a person surely deserves to get Moksha.Soul never perishes.

No one can destroy a soul.But body will get destroyed by all means,If you keep that in mind you will realise that you are not killing the soul.Vasansi Jeernani Yatha Vihaya..Just like we leave old clothes and wear new clothes soul will change into another body.

Nainam chindanti sastrani...Soul can not be pierced by any weaponIt can not be burnt by fire.It can not be drenched by water It can not be swept by wind.

" Arjun stared at his friend trying to grasp the essence of his words.

Just fight with a cool mind.Till now I Instructed you Sankhya Yoga that tells about the soul.Now I will tell you Karma Yoga.

Traigunya Vishaya Veda..Vedas describe the three gunas.You should be beyond those three and the dualities of life.You have the right to do your duty but you can not dictate the result.And you are not the reason for the end result.At the same time you should not desist from your duty thinking of the result.

Karmanyevadhikaraste Ma Phaleshu Kadachana.

He Dhananjay ! leave your apprehensions and take resort to Bhakti Bhava.Sages and Yogis practice this and liberate themselves from the sufferings of the materialistic world.Then they will get out of the cycle of birth and death.You should try and attain that state."

Arjun slowly and steadily applied his mind on Krishna's words. He started having anxiety and curiosity to know more and more.

He asked.' Sthita Prajnasya Kaa Bhasha ? Samadhisthasya Kesava..

.Madhav, Such a person who achieves the state of liberation,how will he be? How will he speak? How will he behave?"

Krishna replied." Parth the man who takes delight in soul he is called The Stable minded and Knowledgable.

Veeta Raaga Bhaya Krodha...

That person will not be overjoyed in happiness and too disturbed in troubles.He will be devoid of fear,affection and anger. He is called a sage.He will not be effected by the physicalities of the world.Those who have senses under control and concentrate their heart in myself He is the Stable and knowledgable.

Dhyayate Vishayan Punsa..

.But naturally man will get attracted to the objects of senses due to which he will be enveloped by passion due to which he is subjected to anger..

.Guru Dron looked at Grandfather who is staring at the Devine chariot of his favourite grandson. From what he could understand Krishna is instructing something to Arjun as that is clear from the way they stationed in the chariot.

What must be going on between them is beyond his guesswork. But he could sense the divinity of the sight as inside stood he who is the Supreme Lord. And another one he knew is none other than Narayan Sakha Nar.

One who lives in the world but becomes relieved of dualities,unattached and always blissful that one is the real sage.I repeat nothing happens by leaving worldly actions. Nar represents humanity. Narayan stands for divinity. Together they accomplished the Devine plan and removed the burden of the earth. In that process they blessed us with the Gita .
