Wiping the sweat beads off her forehead she faces the moon.
It is time to shed the garb of blissful ignorance that has concealed so far the steady flame in cool mist. It is time, to embrace the dulcet truth that is.

He sits under a tree, staring at the creamy white moon. The spots have deserted their home as happiness invaded. Moonshine bathes his face with mirth.
His lips are curved, but he does not smile. He has let his mind wander.
Today is the day.
The wood emanates an enchanting emerald glow. Painful dimples form on his cheeks as a maddening fragrance fills the air.

Her anklets tinkle around her feet. Blue-and-gold bangles clink in unison as she raises a finger to her chin and ventures out.
The enticing tune surrounds her in a blessed deluge.
With gait befitting an angel and gaze suited to a love-struck doe, she treads along the misty walk.

Lowering the flute, he looks around.
She hasn't come yet.
Narrowing his eyes in a frivolous rage he leans back, his flute tucked tight in his garment.

Placing a soft kiss on his flute he asks. Should I take it up again? May I believe she is on her way? Or must I wait with love till she is free yet of her parents' gaze?
He lovingly strokes the piece of wood that was infused with new life each time it is blessed with his touch.

Oh, when shall I be freed of my ordeal? When shall he guide my poor self to my refuge in his arms? Say, when? She asks the trees, the flowers and the slumbering birds.

Once again the flute touches his lips and melody comes alive. Once again, the trails of music rush in madness towards the souls that await.
He closes his eyes in delight while his creation triumphs over his senses, yet again.

Her laughter rings round the edges of the deep forest as she she runs towards the grove from where emanated the captivating melody.
There! There he stands!

His eyes light up to reveal the happiest smile in the world!

Hiding her face in her palms she throws herself into his welcoming arms. He wraps the love of his life in his arms. She raises her large doe-like eyes to meet his lovely lotus-shaped.
