I've loved the Mahabharat for as long as I can remember, they were my childhood bedtime stories.
I'm pretty sure I've seen BRC's version, but I was like really young (like really, like between the ages of 3-5, I'm late '97 born) when I think I saw it. I remember liking it.

I have great appreciation for the Star Plus's Mahabharat (probably because I have a clearer memory of it) it's the only thing I remember that channel doing right 😆. I just loved it's attention to detail, emphasis on performances & understanding of the characters. I think SP's Draupati was probably my favorite.

But would love to revisit this version, pick up what I might've missed out on.

Also need to go now, will be back soon.

Yeah! Let's begin. I'll start by singing the Title Song... A great highlight of the show😳

Atha shri Mahabharat katha
Mahabharat katha
Katha hai purusharth yeh ki
Swarth ki parmarth ki

Translation / meaning: "This is the story of Mahabharat. It's a tale of honour, greed, the ultimate truth."

Sarthi jis ke bane
ShriKrishna Bharat Parth ki

Translation / meaning: "This is the story of Lord Krishna who had become a charioteer (in the Kurukshetra battle) for Arjuna who is descendant of Bharat."

Shabdh Dighoshit Hua Jab
Satya Sarthak Sarvatha..

Translation / meaning: "When the great words (Bhagavad Gita) were proclaimed, they showed the path (of righteousness) ... the words signified truth that was fit and entire."

Yada yada hi dharmasya glanir bhavati bharata
Abhyutthanam adharmasya tadatmanam srjamy aham

Translation / meaning: "Whenever and wherever there is a decline in righteousness, O Bharata, And a predominant rise of unrighteousness, then I manifest Myself"

Paritranaya sadhunam vinasaya ca duskritam
Dharma-samsthapanarthaya sambhavami yuge yuge

Translation/meaning: For the safety of the sants and mahatmas, for the destroy of the evil and for the reestablishment of truth, I'll take births again and again.
