Because, acc to the book, Vyasa had power to see future events & it is appearing wrong to me that his words made Draupadi get married to Ps. Ps did not belong to Uttara Kuru or Ujjaini where polyandry was in practice. In such a situation, putting forth the idea of a woman getting married to five men who belonged to an orthodox country is not less than selling a cow to a meat shop owner. How can a sage like Vyasa suggest such a foolish decision? He was always impartial. I don't think someone as intelligent & compasionate towards his fellows like Vyasa could knowingly suggest a bad idea. He might have supported Yudhi's decision later as it was too late for him to stop it & everybody came to know of it.

That could be jamy. There is a story added about her previous birth, where Panchali is given a boon of 5 husbands by Shiva. I feel all these were later additions to prove that, what Yudhi did was right , becoz it was preordained.

I don't believe so. For me it looks like a very calculated political move by Yudhi.

See this. Yudhi was behaving in DS according to Rig Veda. I'm 😲 😲 😲 🤢 seeing his passion for not turning vedic hymns wrong.

I think all the Dwaparyugis either were simply fools or unrighteous people. They saw Yudhi more closely than us, but could not understand his 'real face'. We did not see him, just read a book and understood everything! We Kaliyugis have sharper brains, and broader minds, ok very good; but is it safe to assume that ALL Dwaparyugis were low in morality? Probably yes! So Suyodhan, Sushashan and their brothers, Karna, Shakuni, Dhritarashtra were the only good people in whole Aaryavarta, everybody else were bad. Very good!
Then comes the most important question!
Was Krishna too a fool or an unrighteous person? Ok let me agree with you, Yudhi is indeed adharmi. But this man loved Krishna, and Krishna too loved, respected him. Then was Krishna loving and supporting adharma? If yes, then why on earth people worship Krishna even in this Kaliyug?

Urmila i dont think people are trying to say he was an adharmi i guess what they are saying is that he was no saint

Which is fine since no one in MB was a saint

He was like most of the characters who had done both good and bad things

What he did in dice game is not justifiable and is inexcusable but other than that he has done good deeds as well its just that since dice game was a huge turning point in the epic its discussed more than other good deeds of Yudi

Since the first reference of Draupadi in front of Ps, it is clear that yudhi was the one who desired her the most. That was not a bad thing at all. every person has right to desire. And it is unbelievable that yudhi did not think about Draupadi while returning their hut. Also it is unbelievable that seeing Yudhi returning early, without Arjuna, kunti asked nothing & Yudhi said nothing at all. I dont think, Kunti who was rock hard while pandu was begging her to get sons through niyoga planned to get Draupadi married to all five brothers. Kunti has already told pandu that a woman having more than five husbands would be called a wh##e. So I dont see any chance of another person who suggested that idea.

About Arjuna, he only told he could not commit sin by marrying when his elder brother stayed unmarried. That was not a consent for yudhi to marry draupadi. Yudhi could have married another woman & let arjuna marry Draupadi.

There is no clue in KMG that Draupadi was happy getting married to all five men. She only smile, much later & that smile is very confusing.

The problem here is, was getting married ti all 5 was with Draupadi's full consent. If yes, we can not blame Yudhi for his decision. But in entire MB, this is not clear.

If this is the case, how is it that apart from karna nobody called her those despicable names ever? Since at one point of time she was the "empress of aryavrat "and nobody raised an objection to a woman having 5 husbands holding such a respectful title.
And even in agyatvaas she proudly boasts about having 5 husbands to everybody?

People watching the show today, please post updates.
Also, it occurs to me that we should probably start taking the events chapter by chapter and doing our own version😆

@indianprincess - I m sorry. I made the error. Kunti mentioned a woman cannot have more than 3 men (excluding her first husband), not 5 as I wrote.

Yes, they both did. They were both wrong. The system had to come down.

The system DID come down.

Sadly neither side denounced the royal right to 'own' people

Thats what i'm asking, if a women having relation with more than 3 men was considered inappropriate, then how come practically nobody objected to pandav panchali marriage not even the kuru elders?
AFAIK Apart from karna nobody ever called her bad names for living with 5 men.

@indianprincess- good question. To be honest, I dont know the answer. But you have got a point there. Only Karna calling her names looks odd, increasing chances that he did not call any names at all. Another thing is, Arundhati was married to 7 men, sapta rishis. I have never came across at least one instance in which she is remembered without respect. So that increases my confusions...
