I have a new question. One of the stories about Prahlad illustrating his greatness was about his impartiality, and him siding w/ Indra against his own son Virochan. Anybody know more about the details of this story?
In fact, I've heard that even after he became the ruler of the asuras, Prahlad too had his skirmishes w/ Indra - it's not that the Devasura wars were completely resolved. Just that the devas had a virtuous asura as their adversary.
This question asked from a Yuga ago, was it answered?
If not then, this story is just after Draupadi's VH, Vidura narrates it to the sabha.
And it is a conflict between Virochana and Sudhanva, son of Prajapati Angira.
Both of them wanted to marry an unnamed woman, and Prahlada went to Kashyapa rishi (his grandpa) and asked this question as to who should marry the woman. Kashyapa said that Sudhanva was superior to Virochana in knowledge and power, hence Prahlada gave the bride to Sudhanva, against his son's wish. So here, he sided with Sudhanva.
Of course, after that ⭐️VH, everyone must have read this chapter 10 times, but to answer your doubt...
And the Devi Bhagavatam does describe wars between Prahlada and the devas and it is not that Prahlada was a very peaceful king... the descriptions portray him as very fierce in war..
Although I don't generally put my entire faith in Devi Bhagavatam.. still, this is what happened.
