@ Aishu - yayyyyyyy that's soooo awesome, welcome to Dwapar Yug 🤣 Totally agree about that scene before Radha So Shyam with blended RadheShyam, both the picturization and the concept are just divine... the message it gives lends evidence to my claim in the Radha's Pride scene Janu created, that the whole leela was just a play to teach us something because she could never really lose sight of her true identity and fall like that - it was by her own choice that she contemplated on Krishna as separat and above so that she could enjoy the bliss of being devoted to him. Anyways, that flowers scene was cute too na, nice intriguing and out-of-the-ordinary way to introduce the characters 😍 Agreed about Narad also, well said 👏

Guys, we're at the part now where Jarasandh failed to beat Krishna in 17 battles and goes to receive the help of Kalyavan. The background stories of Jarasandh and Kalyavan's births were shown before we stopped....almost reached the end of Swapnil's phase in the DVDs...just 3-4 more epis I think.😭

But I'm eager to see the Mahabharat epis at the same time...Sarvadaman Banerjee acted in the old Swami Vivekananda movie I think (was it black and white?), and I remember seeing a few vids of that. He was pretty good👏, so I'm interested to see him as Krishna...gotta give the poor guy a chance after all.😳 It'll be hard removing the image of Nitish Bharadwaj as adult Krishna though....really loved him in BRC's MB!😍

You can always rewatch them! I think i've watched all of Meghan's episodes in JSK at least twice

True😆, but there's just something special and different about watching something for the first time, isn't there? When you rewatch epis, you know what to expect, but the first time around...everything is new and you enjoy it in a different way.

Yes! Yes, very true! But Krishna's leelas are worth watching again and again. And you might even enjoy watching SDB as Krishna. I liked his acting so far in Goloka.

Yeah, you're right about that too.😊 I also liked SDB in the beginning epis of SK...his dialogue delivery was really gentle and he looked like a very graceful Krishna...and when I skipped ahead some time back to watch Rukmini Haran (for a pic update), I really liked how he enacted that scene too, esp when he was fighting with Rukmi...he had just the right touch of anger and humor in his expressions....but you know how it is. When you watch a particular actor for so long, you get attached.😆 Not counting SDB (since the rest of SK is him), Swapnil was the only Krishna actor who lasted so long...and he did both the RadheKrishna leelas and the political battles very well, esp the latter political battles and discourses about Dharma and Adharma. Will def be seeing his epis over and over.

Lol I'll be back saying more soon, but I just thought I'd chime in on the current topic to counter the "first-time magic" thing... don't mind if I do 😆 For both SK and Ramayan my first time viewings occurred way before I can remember, so every time I've watched them since, I've known what to expect... said the dialogues along with the actors... memorized every note of the background music... yeah, that hopeless 🤣 But despite the predictability it's had the same power over me hence despite thousands of repeated viewings of the same scenes (not even exaggerating!!), I continue to watch them thousands of times more 😆 So rest assured Janu, the magic will stay no matter how many times you watch, esp of the bal leelas and prem leelas 😍 So... how'd ya like Vidur's backstory? That was one of my fav parts out of what you've seen so far.

@ Aishu - and how far have you gotten sweets?? Tell tell 😛 And I agree about SDB, sadly you'll see that by the time they reintroduce him as adult Krishna they really botch up his make-up big time so it interferes with his otherwise graceful and smooth acting style we saw in Golok 🤔 But... anyways, yeah where are you?? Saw the Aakashwani I'm guessing, maybe somewhere amidst Kans's wedding episode?

Ya di, I'm at the Aakashvani part. I loved the Vidai song so much! "Vachan Vidai Ki Mat Jaiyo Re Bhulake" Its sooooooooo pretty! I loved the lyrics! It reminds us of all the duties that a wife must do for her house, but then her father reminds Vasudev of the duties that he has to her. And then we see how much Kans loves his sister, Devaki. Even all of Mathura comments on that. But the Aakashvani was such a contrast. "He Murkh Kans!!!" lol However, I thought that the way they captured Kans's astonished expression from every angle was a bit cheesy. A lot like the dramatic angles from Ekta Kapoor's old serials!

^^ Yayyyy I guessed right... now what do I win 😆 j/k... totally agree about the Vachan Vida Ke song, the music is really sweet and folksy and pretty, I esp like the opening tune... and the lyrics and the dialogues after by Ugrasen (her chaacha, not her dad actually) are perfectly complementary and give a really nice description of the ideal husband-wife relationship. And lolz @ the hundred times repeated shot of Kans's shocked expression after the Akashwani... you're right again 🤣 They had there share of cheesy 80s tricks in both of our RS favs, like the close-ups when Manthara misguides Kaikeyi, but this one's gotta be one of the worse cuz they show it soooooo many times 😆 Did you get to the sweet little convo between them when they reach their palace afterwards? And any thoughts on the different treatment this scene got here from how they redid it in JSK, where Saraswati Maa sits on Vasuji's tongue and makes him speak those wise words instead of him coming up with them at the spur of the moment?
