If this is the confirmed list, I am definitely rooting for Mouni. She is probably going to be the best dancer of the lot.

@Janaki Di, lol yes, that's kind of true. But they also had that cricketer guy in season 5. I'm just glad that they include professionals in almost every season, so every one else steps up their game too.

And me too! I've wanted Mouni to be in the show ever since I started watching it. And it's going to happen this year!

My review on the articles:

To be honest, I didn't really like Aashish Sharma's style of writing. He wrote a bit condescendingly about both Arun and Gurmeet, spending more time on their faults than appreciating their positives. Continuously bringing up Arun Govil's chain smoking days is kind of mean, because the actor clearly mentioned many times in past interviews that he quit smoking after playing Ram. Doesn't that count for something? No one is perfect, not even actors who play Gods (unlike what some people think). They all have their bad habits, both old generation actors and new generation actors. So writing about "Arun Govil's Ungodly Habits" seems condescending in an otherwise good article. Also, I did not appreciate how they wrote Gurmeet as "Six Pack God", because 1) He did not have a 6-pack during Ramayan times, he built it up later on during GHSP and Punar Vivah ) and 2) Attaching the name Ram to "6 pack" is irreligious. I don't get why these news reporters only pick on Gurmeet for his body. He looked quite normal in Ramayan, especially in comparison to the actors of Star Plus' Mahabharat, whose bodies were way too Greek-God type for puranic times. But no one picks on them, do they? Gurmeet was a muscular and fit Ram, but he was not a 6-pack Ram. He looked apt for a kshatriya warrior, and kshatriya warriors were muscular and fit, but they did not have 6-packs and neither did Gurmeet during Ramayan.

People should appreciate these two actors for their hard work and dedication to the role of Shri Ram. Even if they may not like them, which is fine, they shouldn't nitpick little details that are inconsequential. Neither of these two actors is perfect. They both are very much human and will have their share of faults. As Gurmeet said, they are "kaliyug ka insaan" so expecting them to be Godly just because they played God is unreasonable. Overall, these two actors are very good humans beings and have done many things in their personal life to be appreciated, but they are also human.

Thanks for sharing these lovely articles. I think Arun and Gurmeet both played their roles outstandingly well. But, I didn't like how they wrote Arun's ungodly habit, man just think, a chain smoker Govil quits smoking, doesn't that change counts...it counts a lot. It takes real courage to leave such habits. And I appreciate Arun ji, for quitting smoking.
Also, I disagree that Gurmeet was a 6 pack God, first of I have never seen him having 6 Abs, when he played Ram ji, he was just fit and fine physically and so was Arun ji. I have not seen any god having 6 pack abs. Or if they show it in some shows, like in 'kahani humare mahabharat ki', it doesn't look appealing, it doesn't look indian. Like Saurabh raaj jain in Star Plus Mahabharat, played Krishna, he was muscular and fit, but he does not have any abs, coz the producers restricted him buliding these 6 pack abs, coz we can't imagine krishna with a greek touch 😆
All these actors who play mythos, and really do justice to their respective roles, should be appreciated for their effort well done, and not criticized for what they were, before playing the Lord. i think more of their positive aspects must have been highlighted. The writer could also have asked them about their memories, their off screen masti or any incident related to the same too. that would have been interesting. but at least they brought us both the Rams, so i am happy😛

Yeah, I liked how they gave some background information about their roles. Though I know this already, it's interesting that Arunji was at first rejected for Ram's role and then called back. Surely it was Lord Ram who inspired Ramanand Sagarji to call him back, as it was Arunji's dharma and fate to play Ram at that time. 😊 I also love hearing how Gurmeet was first chosen for Ram because of his eyes. It's so true that his eyes are his most appealing factor. When I first saw him as Ram, I too noticed the intense power behind his gaze. It was perfect for the role of our Kamalnayan. I also think it's purely providential that Gurmeet's middle name as well as his father's first name is "Sitaram". It proves that Mr. Sitaram Choudhary's son was fated to play Ram in the 21st century just like Arunji was in the 20th century.

SRJ in Mahabharat looked good. He was physically fit (which is a must for any warrior role, God or historical), but he did not look like a Greek God with 6 abs. There were some actors in Mahabharat however, who did have abs, and it looked inappropriate for the era as it gave them a "greek god" look. But yeah, as far as AS Ramayan is concerned, the actors were all physically appropriate looking for their roles, especially Gurmeet.

I too wish interviewers would ask Gurmeet and Arun about stories from the sets of Ramayan during their shooting days. Those would be so much nicer to read than their "ungodly habits" or their "six pack" or whatnot. 🤔😵
