Before everybody gets defensive, Emon has been my favorite since the very first day. But don't u guys think tht Akhtar was right in some ways but surprisingly even though hes a writer 😕 the way he said it n the words he used were offensive.
Things tht made sense to me :
1. He said Ankita performs well whereas Emon is not tht good.(They were comparing Ankita n Emon n u have to agree tht Ankita is a better performer.)
Then he said Emon's voice is "patli".(i have noticed tht many times even before Akhtar said it.)
N finally he said Emon will not be a successful playback singer, which he should have said in nicer words or shouldn't have said at all.(I mean, all those manly, with bulky arms and six-pack abs, actors are going to look weird singing in his voice. I know hes just 18 but still i don't think his voice is gonna change tht much.)
One more thing me n my sisters were watching this episode of rubaroo the other day n i left the room for some water n when i came back i heard a girl singin n when i looked at the screen i was surprised to see it was Emon 😕!(n i DID NOT make tht up.
But im sure Emon(my indian idol too) will, after all this critism, sing well.......damn well. 😃

Time and again...we have discussed JA's vicious negativity.
JA is entitled to his opinion...no doubts there...
JA is also probably right in letting his opinion stand against Anu Malik's....

But all limits were crossed when Padmashree JA "cursed" II3 contestant Emon Chatterjee....
He cursed..."Emon will never be successful"...as a playback singer or a stage performer...
JA cursed Emon...with his Mom crying silently in the audience....with the whole world stunned....
Let me remind you...he has a right to his opinion alrite....but he has no rite to tell an 18 yr old..."you'll never live your dreams"....

All said and done.....with the last nail on Emon's coffin....here's something that I have noticed...and probably many of you too....
When Emon came to this show...we found him to be a fun spirit, a lovable spirit....trifle mischievous, trifle funny...cool, chilled out and totally mast....but above all....singing well....singing damn well!!
Somewhere along...we discovered that Emon is an emotional person...lots of ruffled feathers on this issue...but well he's emotional...no denying that....but still above all...singing well....singing damn well!!

And now...have u noticed...as I have...how strong this little man really is??
From the time he was dubbed over-confident...to the time he was accused of "intentionally" copying Sonu....
This little guy...comes back every time...beats all odds....and despite his height 😉...stands tall and brave....
While watching the last episode...I was wondering...Gosh...how did he do so well (remember dibar mere?) after all those harsh and intentionally negative comments by JA?? He is just this indomitable spirit...whom no matter how much you try to snuff...rekindles itself and comes back with a bang...appreciated by the judges or not!!
And then when I watched the Elimination Episode....I knew....Emon is already a winner....standing there with Mom in audience....being wished "ill"...by a stalwart of the industry...by Padmasree Javed Akhtar....being told 'you'll never live your dreams'.....
and yet....he stands tall, brave and from what I know...comes back a few hours later...to again...sing well...sing damn well....
Indian Idol says it's in search of not only a singer but for someone who has it all...and to me...Emon has it all...
He sings well....he performs well (my opinion against JA's doesn't count...I know...but I still think he is a performer alrite)..., he is fun, he is lovable, he is cool, he is chilled out, he is mast...
he has this indomitable spirit.....

And his attitude....I absolutely love it!! After all....Emon is a rockstar....not a meek-star....
For me Emon is already a winner...my Indian Idol!!

My Wish:

I wish EMON to win II3 (Although the chances are less due to biased judge and public's favoritism). Not only because he deserves it, but to see Mr Javed Akhtars reaction.

Well said and JA's opinion on singing should not count --can he sing in
tune? He should judge poetry contests.

I really want to applaud the author of this post. Emon was always criticized for being sissy and crying for everything but he stood like a rock through all the criticism. Even if Emon makes a small mistake, he is yelled at like anything. If Amit makes a small mistake like forgetting lyrics or missing sur in certain places, it is overlooked. But Emon's slighest mistakes are pointed out.

While all the other contestants were politely told what they did wrong, Emon was yelled at and called terms like overconfident, Sonu clone, etc. Yet he stood there quietly taking it all.

He really is the most underrated singer in the show. I think everybody has noticed Emon right from the auditions to the theatre round. I noticed how well Amit sings only after he was brought back by the wild card, but Emon was always there.

This saturday will most probably be Emon's last as all the judges want Amit as the Indian Idol and know that Prashant will once again receive the maximum votes. So either Amit or Emon can occupy the second spot. What I fear is the criticism Emon will once again get from Javed when he stands with Amit in the bottom 2. I pray that the guy achieves great heights in his future and proves Javed Ji wrong and becomes a successful playback singer.

To me Emon is the best. He tolerated so much insults and still sang so well. I hope God gives him all the luck and blessings to win this chamionship

Sometimes a small act reflects your characteristics and changes opinion about them ...

I used to admire Javed saab, I used to think he's very mature and wise but when he cursed a young man who is barely 18, he just bared his own frustration, not caring what impact will it have on a young, impressionable mind. JA's behaviour was totally immature, childish.

Emon, whom I used to think immature(crying over Deepali's elimination) and doing childish pranks rose like a phoenix. He was there taking it all like a man and this time no tears in his eyes. Although just 18 he showed far more maturity than Javed Saab!!

Hat's off to you Emon.

This seems to be a promotion attempt for Emon. Entire post is for righting everything that has been supposedly wronged for Emon.

All said and done, Emon does not have the voice quality to become II3.

I think that some big change came over Emon after the night Deepali was eliminated. I know that sounds really weird, but it seemed like after he cried his eyes out that day, he hasn't done anything immature since. I feel like he's really matured since the beginning of this show, like you said. Even if he doesn't win, I think he's proven that he's got the attitude that will take him really far, whether Javed says he will or not.

I personally hope that we one day hear Emon singing a hit song that's been written by Javed- he should make that man feel like an idiot for ever doubting him!
