i so did not like his comments on ankita's 2nd performnce...

the cage represents indian women..who have been locked...nd r now free

crap 🤢 we have been free for quite some time now...

its as if ankita is the voice of all indian women n only in her we can see our freedom..too much hype really for ankita! 😕

I disagree...

the point of the comment was not to show that Indian women are caged or whatever

he was saying that she truly sang outside of herself and let go of whatever was holding her back...she sang in her own way

he was trying to say that instead of following the norm and singing the way the song was initially conceived, she broke free and sang for herself

seriously, I doubt he was trying to say Indian women are not empowered

I think she did justice to it...again, sur/taal I can't really comment on but when I heard it, I remembered the original (not saying it sounds like it) but that is what a song should evoke in you...and I'm sure that is what it evoked in others.
