Thanks for clarifying that Buttercup. I shared my views in other threads and I hope people do not tell me on the forum or via msg to not voice my opinion either. I'd like to think it applies to everyone here.

But its one member's opinion so he can post it here, just like we all can too within forum rules. Hate clubs aren't allowed here but there is nothing against starting petitions.

Anyway i dindn't find any statement saying that they won't me selling my email address to third parties or advertising agencies or who knows whom?

You guys are proving that there's no dearth of intellectually challenged folks on these forums. Let me explain. Is it Ankita's fault that she came this far in this competition? Is it her fault that the so called better singers "Puja" and "Deepali" didn't get enough votes and got voted out? She's just competing like anyone else, and she's giving her best shot. Do you think she should just walk out of the competition voluntarily knowing that better singers are getting voted out before her? Only a wimp can do such a thing. She's in there to fight.

If you feel injustice is being done, then you should file a petition against the people who are voting her. You may also file a petition against the judges who are praising her. An even better idea would be to file a petition against Indian Idol to change the voting system so that such injustice is not possible.

Lastly, i don't think this petition will make any difference to Ankita or Indian Idol. However, this is a sureshot way to showcase the dim wits of the creator of this petition and the folks who are signing it.

Alright so Ankita is perhaps not one of the best singers. Puja and Deepali were definitely much better singers and Ankita should have gone out before them. However, what is done is done. People need to realize this is a reality contest based on popular votes. Votes cast by people who really do not have a high understanding of singing but who simply vote on what they feel they like. Ankita maybe a lesser singer, but the general public obviously thinks that they would rather have her perform and entertain than listen to better singer. Audience prerogative.

Seriously what is the purpose of this petition other than a channel outlet for people who abhor Ankita to vent. You think Sony Television and other sponsors will upturn thousands of viewer votes for few hundred petitioners. You think one petition can change the mind of thousand voters.

Also this is not some socio-political agenda here. Ankita being in top 4 or even winning Indian Idol is not going to send the earth out of orbit is it. The purpose of a petition originally is to get government and other authorities to consider or take a certain action. It is simply annoying to see that just because petitions can be created online teeny boppers just throng to it like its the next hottest thing after NYKB.

Also I was wondering the petition states that Ankita sang Falsetto. It really makes me think do people know what a falsetto is. Listen to Justin Timberlake's 'My Love' his opening lines that is a Falsetto. As a matter of fact I doubt if Ankita's vocal range will allow a Falsetto or even Soprano. She sound more in the Contralto range. She was bad in the previous two performances and should have been out. However, in the disco round she was very much in melody, she simply employed completely different vocal stylings that gave the song a different sound and feel.
