II2 ended almost a year ago. The show was not as popular as Indian Idol 1 but many of the contestants had enthusiastic fans. When II2 was still on the air, this section was one of the most active sections on IF. 😳 Fan clubs, debates, heated arguments, result news, song choices, three famous judges, celebrity guest judges, contestants such as Sandeep, Karunya, Anuj, Amey, Antara, Meenal, Ravi, Panna, Monali, Neha, Yashashree, Sagar! You name it!! It was discussed in this very section!
In the past year, we've had a lot of news on many of the Indian Idol 2 contestants. Some have released their own solo albums, many are doing stage shows, we've seen some perform and/or sing in SONY serials and shows. Not to forget Zoom's Popkorn and Star News' Saas Bahu Aur Saazish.
So, where are our Idols today? How successful are they in the field of music? Have they achieved a lot of fame and fortune? Have their dreams come true?
As a fan, are you happy with your Idol's success, a year later? Do you feel their talent has yet to be recognized by the music industry? And most importantly, has SONY given enough exposure and opportunities to II2 contestants, when compared to other channels and/or reality shows? Success of II1 vs. II2 contestants:- notice any difference? Are II1 contestants more successful and well-known?
The three judges made many promises last year. Some have yet to be fulfilled. Has anyone seen Sagar Arun in Farah Khan's Pepsi Commercials (are there any Farah directed Pepsi commercials 😆)? Is Antara Mitra really Anu Malik's next playback singer? Did Anu Malik offer Amey Date any songs from his forthcoming films? Were the promises, praise and comments just plain BS for the entire six months?

Anuj Sharma:

- Currently working on his album with Vivek Dyal
- Received acting offers to work in SONY serials (not sure)
Amey Date (Aamaya Daate):
- Singing for three films: 'Colour Red', 'Divorce' and 'Muthbhed'
- Sang in a Doctor Tribute Album titled, 'Doctor Tujhe Salaam' with singers Hariharan, Sushma Shreshtha and Vinod Rathod
- Interview in June 2006 issue of 'Filmfare' magazine
- Sang (background) in SONY serial Mann Main Hai Vishwas
- Stages show in India and Abroad (i.e. Amey Date Nite in Mumbai)
- Performed in SONY Navarati special with cast of Thodi Khushi Thode Gham
