We have seen how strongly Amit sang during auditions. Sunidhi chauhan was so impressed that she came out and gave him a tight hug and said, "Isko kehtee hai buland awaz." As a matter of fact he is Sunidhi's sweet heart singer - "Amit oyee"
During this journeys there were ups and downs in his performance and once it was obvious that he will be eliminated when he was in top 8. I guess Judges gave him a big favour when Sohini & Ritika was eliminated. Of course Poorvi shoud have gone before those to females. It is good that Judges had faith in him and he proved it that Judges were correct.
If you remember when they asked Poorvi, who should be eliminated? She replied that Amit should go because he was in a "Punjabi Mode." Amit had also called Poorvi's name for elimination because she was only singing western style. I believe that he was suffering from throat infection that time. Thats why he could not sing well.
This guy has very strong voice and excellent throat which is suitable for high pitch and strong through type of songs. I mean he can do wonders with NFAK, Sukhvinder Singh & Kailash kher songs. His voice modulation is superb. Bhawan ne iskee gale mai bahut mukeeya aur harkets dee hai aur Amit ko itna gyan hai ki kis harket to kaha leena hai. He also adds his own little harkets to every song he sings.
I will not be surprised if this kid wins II6. May God bless you Amit.
