Is something wrong with the tracks?

When Amey crooned...tum aa gaye ho after his performance was over he sounded so much better than he did during his rendition of mahi we...

Antara was sounding quite nice in the end when all of they sang tauba tauba but sounded so much off key during her song mere haathon mein nau nau...

is this got to do something with the way they prepare the music tracks?? Is it the choice of the song..In mahi we for example the original song has a lot of chorus and music which gives richeness to the song and when those echoing beats in the background are missing the song doesnt sound half as good

In Karu's case if you notice in the original song the most prominent part is the vocals and not the score...what you hear and remember is the powerful voice of Nusrat Fateh Ali...so when Karu sang well..it showed...unlike in Amey's case where teh opinion abt how he performed y'day is divided...

Any experts here to clarify pls...

Excellent point!!

I wonder if they do it on purpose too. Wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. Amey's song was probably the most dependent on the background track too.

Well I dont think its the tracks that are to be blamed. The only time I thought remotely along this line was when Sandeep sang Mitwa- there was either sth seriously wrong abt the track or abt the coordination b'w his vocals and the music.

Yesterday, Amey sang quite well. At a few places as he himself pointed out, the overlap didnt come out finely. Antara had a problem with the scale, but since the scale is chosen by the contestants only, she should have chosen one which she was comfortable in. She went so offkey...her fault, not the track's.

And yeah Karunya's vocals dominate as in the original.

Looks like the choice of song is crucial....

They get a list to choose from..

But I read smwr that lately Amey pointed out that the contestants should also have a say since they know what kind of songs suit their voice best.

The contestants are given a list of songs and they select one from the list. According to Sandeep, the channel has some final say on who sings what. He was supposed to sing Chotti Chotti Raatein from Tum Bin (original singer: Sonu Nigam) but was advised by the channel to sing Mehendi Laga ke Rakhna as it would suit his voice more.
