What does Farah mean by performance...???

Hello IF buddies,

I was just watching the ID- Gala March 6th videos. I was genuinely disaapointed today at the performance of Antara and Sandeep. But what amazed me even more was Farah's comments that his performance was good and she did not care about 'sur'.

So my question is..."So is this a dance/acting competition rathar than a singing competition"? Looks it it from her point of view as she consistently kept criticizing Meenal for "performance" even though some of her renditions were extremely well sung.

And on the other hand someone like Sandeep gets applauded even though his singing today was painful, even to a lay person like me.

It should be made clear from the very beginning to the judges what to give preference and should be reminded of that by the program directors if they seem to loose their way.

What do you think about this?

I agree with you, but should it not be secondary to the quality of singing. How can one sing badly and still connect to the audience?

first and most imp has to be singing and i think farah mistakes performance to be actual dancing steps while a singer can give a good performance by just connecting with every single member of the audience... if u remember abhijeet sawant didnt do any great dance moves but he was sooo into his singing that it touched all of us...

i really have no clue why she is fida over sandeep and anuj. btw by the looks of it even sony wants an amey, anuj, panna showdown at the end.

She wants the contestants to sing like Sonu Nigam while busting a Michael Jackson.

Well applauding Sandeep's performance today definitely makes you think that.

farah just wants to see some good dance steps in a contestants performance and that's all she needs....she keeps on repeating that she means you need to connect with the audience to give a good performance but she contradicts herself.....whenever she sees someone dancing on the particular song, she starts praising the person.......so many times i haven't felt connected to those whom she mentions to have given a better performance and most of the times i have felt much more connected to those who sing with their eyes closed and manage to bring out their inner emotions in their singing.....
