Something is different in Idol 2...

I saw Indian Idol 1 and it was a great show. Never at any point did I feel that the show is rigged even though Ravinder Ravi was being voted in at the expense of some good singers. The judges comments were very honest. You could see that they were upset on Ravinder Ravi being voted in every time. Everything looked honest and staightforward.

I cannot say the same for Indian Idol 2. It seems that it is rigged. The judges comments seem honest at the time of performance but then they come back in the next episode and say something really different which sound really fishy. It seems that good singers are deliberately put in bottom 3 to increase the rating of the show. It also seems that the judges are notified of this gimmick and they change there comments for that particular good singer. It happened with Karunia a few galas ago and again happened with Amey in the recent result episode. It also seems that the judges are staging mock fights maybe thinking that it adds value to the show. This might be based on the success of Fame gurukul where Javed Akhtar and Ila Arun had a go at each other. The same thing was taken a step further in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa where the mentors had a go at each other. Indian Idol 1 did not have that and now they are bringing it in Idol 2 although it is not working here since Sonu Nigam is too dignified to stoop as low as Himesh Rishemia is Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. A few epsiode ago Sonu did try to act and lock horns with Anu Malik but it did not work.

In yesterdays result episode Anu Malik said that he was afraid the Amey might come in bottom 3 whereas in the Galas all judges were full of praises for him. Once it was announced that Amey was in bottom 3 even Sonu started complimenting Anu on his assessment and afreed that Amey did not sing that well. Come on guys Amey was outstanding and certainly better than Sandeep, Ravi, Ajay and Meenal. Looking at this forum and people I talk to in India it seems that everyone thinks Amey is the best and I do not see any reason for him to be in bottom 3. I think he is getting enough votes but the show is rigged and he is put in the bottom 3 to create a big impact. There is no way Amey is getting less votes than Sandeep or Meenal. In fac t I do not even think Panna got less votes than Ravi last week. I think the results should be audited by an accounting firm to make sure manipulation is not taking place.

I want to go back to Ameys being in bottom 3. Anu Malik has been going on about the Janata not voting properly. He has said that Janata does not have understanding of music and has very poor judgement. Having said that he comes on yesterdays episoed and says that Amey might be in bottom 3. He based this on the fact that on re-listning to the song he found that Amey did not do justice to the high pitch notes. Now an average person does not understand high pitch/low pitch or sur taal that well. They just base it on what sounds good. Suddenly Anu Mailk thinks that the same janata that has no clue of sur taal will be able to catch that Amey was not good in the high pitch notes and would not vote for him. According to him the once stupid janata siddenly is so intelligent that based on this technical issue they will not vote for Amey. Go figure........

A very very good observation!!!!! I think I agree with you, maybe these are the dirty trics played by the channel to increase the revenues...Coz so far the results are very unexpected and shocking!!! May be TRP's ko badahne ke leeye, they r fooling people.

Also, I dont understand why Meenal, Amey n Karunya come in bottom 3, they r good and I am sure people are voting for them. Something's surely going on.....

I am one of the biggest fans of Amey...and even I felt that Amey would be in bottom me (plz dont start saying that he shouldnt have been)...the moment i listened to him, my intuition said that he would definitely be in bottom 3 and I think same was the case with Anu Malik...

and I dont think that II is fake as u said.....if they want to make the show popular by doing so, then they wouldn't have let Panna to go out. and Anu Malik never said that Amey sang badly...it was his sixth sense that made him say that Amey might be in danger

I am totally agree with you, I observed so many times that Judges comments on results day vary from their comments on performence day.

I am also big fan on Amey, but amey didn't sing that well on monday, and same day sonu nigam and anu malik had full praised for him.

On the result day when amey sang song, Aman Verma commented on his voice, at that time he accepted that his voice was not well yesterday as well today. Amey was saying: "when i saw that song i didn't believe that Amey was singing this song, i was nowhere near to my quality".

and suddenly sonu nigam stopped him and talked something technical (which common people don;t understand)

As we know that Amey is a very good singer and having proper sur tall knowledge too.

Now the question is that, when singer himself believed that he didn't sing well then how could judges had all kind of priased for him????

I agree with harrybh. There is definetely someting goin on in Indian Idol -II. The judges's comments always differ from the gala day comments when the time comes to announce the results. Personally I think Sonu is a little jealous of Amey cuz Amey is as good as Sonu and can be even better if given a chance. So I am thinking that Sonu might have to deal with some competition if Amey does become the Indian Idol and they want to just get rid of him. Amey is such a versatile singer and i didn't think there was anything wrong with rang de basanti. It is one of the most current songs topping the charts so why wouldn't he have gotten the votes compared to Sandeep, Anuj or Karunya. Sonu keeps saying to Karunya- u know that you r my favourite singer. I agree Karunya can sing well but he lacks that feeling that Amey is so good at delivering on to the listener when he sings a song. One can definetely feel Amey's song when he sings it compared to Karunya. Karunya, Sandeep and Anuj don't have that kind of charm as Amey. It is so unbelievable that Amey can be in bottom 3 when I think he has the biggest fan following. It was the same case with Panna, he had one of the biggest fan followin but they took him out of Indian Idol. Every week they get around 13 lakh votes so how can Panna who neevr came in bottom 3 ever before just come one day and get out too. If u see the pattern meenal alwys came in bottom 3 so she shuld have gone out cuz the number of voters is almost the same each week and I think patterns don't change so quickly either. Indian Idol is just nonsense now. There is definetely something going on there.

My intuition was Amey would be in the bottom three this week and this was before I watched his performance. It has nothing to do with how well they sing or what the judges say etc.

For the most part, the judges have stopped making any sensible comments, they're arguing over difference of opinions and SifyMax is posting sensational judge versus contestant articles to grab everyone's attention. Just hope it doesn't go a step further than the SRGMP mentor mess.

Sorry for the last post. Hit post button before adding my comments. Even if you think that Amey was not up to the mark he was still certainly better than Sundeep, Meenal and Ajay and according to me even better than Ravi. It was not Amays best performance but still a very good attempt and does rank above the others I mentioned. So I still do not see him in bottom 3.

in my opinion, you are absolutely right, ive noticed many of the same things and it definitely seems like sony is up to something and we are not getting an honest show with honest results
