Chicken pox has marked its second victim amongst the Indian Idol cotantesnts! Jolly (left) with Yashashree hours before she realised she was ill | First, it was Neha Kakkar, and now it's Kolkatta's Jolly Das, who is down with the disease. "We saw marks on her face as soon as she landed in Dumdum airport. We immediately took her to the doctor and he confirmed our worst fears," says Jolly's worried dad. Reportedly, Jolly had fainted during the recently held Mumbai Marathon and this was perhaps a pointer towards things to come. The disease has spread to Jolly's stomach, back and mouth, and when contacted the girl was in no position to even talk. Rajeev peps up ailing Indian Idol finalist | | The bad news is that Neha Kakkar, Indian Idol finalist has got chickenpox and the good news is that Rajeev Khandelwal her favorite TV star paid her a visit. The actor spends half an hour with Neha besides singing a song with her and watching her previous recordings. "Rajeev came to meet me and I had no clue about it. I felt on top of the world to meet him at a time when I was feeling low . He told me that these days I keep something important in my wallet and that turned out to be a newspaper cutting of mine. Rajeev has pepped me enough to perform well in the gala round and has complimented me by saying that I am not just a good singer but an actress too.I am going to remember this moment all my life," says an ecstatic Neha who is singer Sonu Kakkar's(of babuji... fame) younger sister. | Neha will be unable to shoot for the Indian Idol music album which will be launched on 16 January and the week long rehearsals for the gala round. Neha stays in Delhi and keeps visiting her elder sister Sonu often on in Mumbai but has now shifted base to the city from the time she has enrolled herself for the Indian Idol. As of now the young lady is gearing up for the gala round which will be shot on 21 January and aired on 23 January. She aims to become a complete performer cum entertainer of sorts and is busy taking some valuable singing tips from her sister. The Indian Idol contestants are currently in Assam for shows for the 26 January episode and Jolly is very sad about missing the shoot, says her father. Mr Das also pointed out that Jolly was very friendly with Neha and the disease must have spread because of that. Jolly performing at the launch of the Idol music video | "We have taken precautions. Anti-vaccines have been given to all, but I think if things are destined to happen, they will," says Sony vice-president, marketing and communication, Nina Jaipuria. With Jolly unwell, the show seems to be a little on the backfoot. The good news is that Neha is back! "Yes, Jolly is definitely out of the next episode. The channel is yet to take a call on her, but we had waited for Aditi in the last season, and we will wait for Jolly as well! She will only be fit in about two weeks and this is the final round, let's see what happens," says Nina, who is keeping her fingers crossed! Well, whatever might be the case, we commoners can take heart from the fact that even idols get chicken pox! |
