I second that.

I am a huge fan of Amey but I have to admit that towards the end of today's rendition, he was a bit off key. Pay special attention to the way he says 'basanti' towards the end. But the initial 75% part was awesome.

Having said that, I would also like to add that it is a tribute to his versatility that he could sing this song the way he did, which though not flawless was still pretty nice. Coupled with his amazing performance, I would still put him in top 3 overall for today.

It was probably the most difficult song anybody has tried to sing in II2. Daler Mehndi has a very peculiar voice. To modulate your voice to match Daler's and still to sing fairly well along with an amazing performance gets an 'A' in my book.

I am really impressed with his choice of songs. He has sung all different genres of songs. With some luck and same dedication, this lad should go VERY VERY far.

I agree! It's infact a very challenging song. The choice of the song is the culprit in his case.

Just listen to the start of the song and you would know, he started at a wrong scale. Preity was utterly wrong in this case and i felt extremely sorry that my favorite actress doesn't have a good musical ear !!

Dont compare amey's version to the original. The high notes sung by Daler have been sung in 'harmony'---therefore the effect is different. When you sing in 'harmony' it means that there are two tracks overlapping each other, each in different scale. Since, Amey cant sing in two different scales at one time what he sings will sound different to the original. Rehman is famous for overlapping tracks---thts his trademark---thts why they say singing Rehman songs is no joke.

And Amey also had to deepen his voice for the song---maybe it's the change in voice that your ears couldnt adapt to.

He certainly wasnt off-key----no offence, but do you even know what off-key is? It's when you sing OUT OF TUNE and your singing ntoes become flatter....Amey's too well trained to ever go flat.

As for Amey 'shouting' in the high notes then do you even know how high rang de basanti goes---even females find it hard to sing--one of the biggest rules when singing 'high notes' is to keep your volume up so that the lyrics are clear.

Just don't rely on judges comments, hats off to all those ppl who r speaking their heart out in this thread.
Amey trying to imitate Daler was the wildest thing i cud ever dream. He choose a wrong song n never did justice to it.
Even Karunya's song selection in the last round wasn't good, he cud have choosen much better song than that number from "Hum Tum"
We all have high expectations from these 2, hope Amey and Karunya will choose better songs and keep their level of singing high and flawless.

Sneha very well said, but you see many people here are not musically inclined they don't know the difference of an overlapping track and a track sung on a single scale!!!!!!😡🤢

i agree with you, what these people should be complaining about is sandeep HORRIBLE singing (soooooooo flat and the ACTUAL IMITATOR of the show who always imitates a singer) or ravi's horrible song selections... AMEY WAS TOOOO GOOD and karunya's song selection of hum tum was perfect and he sang it wonderfully, it's just people would rather give votes to idiots like ravi and sandeep 😡
