The Amity School Of Communication organised a three-day national media festival "The Big Picture" at their sprawling Noida campus. The event was co-sponsored by Hindustan Times.

Three days of competitions included radio jockeying, media debate, copy writing, photography, report writing, news reading and interviewing, cartooning, poster making, photo gallery exhibits and screening of documentaries that involved students from all over the country.

Big Picture aimed to provide a forum for students of media, communication and event management to display their talents. Says Swati Kapoor, "This has been an exciting three days and I have tried my hand at all that I could." The grand finale was a performance by Pakistani band Jal and the Indian Idol finalists. Thousands of students in the crowd went mad with excitement when the band went onto stage. Girls swooned and boys hooted and cheered for lead singer of the band … Smriti Chauhan said, "This is so exciting that I fi nally get to hear the members of the band live in concert. Their music is amazing and the performance has been very nice. I love their songs Woh Lamhe and Aadat."
