Yes, Padma Wadkar is Suresh Wadkar's wife for sure. He was a famous playback singer after Rafi died.

He was one of the leading mainstream playback singers of Blooywood in the 80s and early 90s. His famous songs include-

1. 'aiye zindagi gale lagale' from Sadma.
2. 'Tum se milke aisa laga tumse milke arma huve poore dil ke' from Parinda.

I guess this is enough to make out wot kinda singer he is. Personally, I love his voice and I feel he's a singer of high calibre.

First of all he is a classically trained singer and is from Maharashtra, India. He is NOT - WADEKAR (that is the surname of our ex cricket captain - Ajit Wadekar). Suresh Wadkar surname is spelt WADKAR (no "e" in it).

He has his own academy of classical singing at JUHU and yes Amey, etc were his students. Tripathi was a student earlier, but now is a teacher there!

His has sung some memorable hindi songs (all the songs from PREM ROG - RK production starring padmini kolhapure and rishi kapoor). His songs from UTSAV and the one "Patazhad, sawan, basant, bahar, Ek barse ke mausam chaar, panchva mausam pyaar ka" is an altime hit.

I am tired of most of you call him WADEKAR (including the channel anchors, etc) Please give due respect to the MAN.

Thanks for the info. Ravi Tripathi is a teacher at the academy, I wasn't aware of that. Wadkarji also sang Chappa chappa charkha chale from Maachis. Excellent song.
