Yea hez got a good voice quality and also have an article abt him from an Indian newspaper "Deccan Chronicle" -
City boy could be next Idol
Spunky Hyderabadi N. C Karunya has made it to the finals of Indian Idol Part 2, in part, it must be said, to his feisty attitude. The third year B. Tech student of Teegala Krishna Reddy college charmed judges when he climbed on to the stage and declared "Sab kuch bhula doonga, baki contestants ko rula doonga" during the judging round of the contest. A trained Carnatic singer, Karunya is one of only 28 contestants, and the only one from the South to make it to the final round of the contest.
His proud mother, N. Janaki, says "Karunya has been singing ever since he was a child. All he needs to do is watch a movie and he starts humming the tunes. He has an amazing grasp of music and a good memory. He has been training in Carnatic music with his guru and uncle N. C Murthy since the age of four." Apart from music, the talented youngster loves to dance as well. And when he finds time, he also plays choreographer, getting his little sister to dance to his steps. Karunya is clearly excited about how far he has come.
"Oh, I just can't wait to see how many calls my parents will receive after people see me on TV. The contest is a tough one, but we need to have patience and not give up. It has been extremely tiring at times, but I don't mind any of it if I become the next Indian Idol," says Karunya.
