you got a point --- on getting eliminated again.
but at least they were given one chance by the jury.

I dont want to bring another show in, but with DID1, there was a veto used to save Khushboo (who deserved to be eliminated, and was the weakest of the lot) and the next week Mayuresh (a fab dancer) was out. The week after Khushboo was voted out again.
Season 2 it was left unused.

IMO, if someone is unable to connect with the audience, and fails to get votes a first time, a second chance wont be of much use.

1. Is this effective? Yes, it is, considering the voiting trend of the sterotypical Indian janta, who vote based on who's hot and who's not, I wouldn't be surprised if Tia became the next Idol had this new power not been introduced.

3. And this is a question that is on my mind since I heard the idea....What if the judges want to save the runner up😆 😉 😛
Then the winner will sing Emotional Attyachar😆

There is a problem when everyone blames junta. Who is junta? Everyone thinks that he is correct. If I think Shivam is the best even if he comes second I would blame junta, if someone else thinks Sreeram is best he would blame junta if Sreeram is eliminated, so everyone have their own openion and everyone thinks that he is correct and by everyone I mean eveyone watching the show. Just for eample I personally dont like Shivam, but to many he is favorite now if he is eliminated to me it would be correct but for other it would be bad. So what is wrong for one may not be wrong for others.
Also I have met many who say that contestant should understand that it is not just about singing but overall appearance and how they carry themselves example a person who appears to be high headed they would never vote even if he is the best singer.

Yes, I agree that the opinions are subjective, but ulitmately, the decision-making process boils down to the media, who are so biased towards looks.
@ bold: I agree upto a certain extent. This is a singing reality shows and looks, appearance are essential, but not the major factor in play. Since singing is the main feature, people should vote accordingly. However, if they are stuck on 2 people, let's say that Shivam and Sreeram sung in the same manner, then they should look upon other factors.

i think for judges shivam ,sreeram ,rakesh, naushad, shashi are more or less in the same range.they will most probably not use the veto power before top 3 .but yes i feel they will surely see there wont be another prashant thamang as indian idol.😊

Only two deserveds Veto to be used on is Sreeram and Swaroop for their gayaki and consistancy mostly...Rest are really not winning material IMHO...

IMO, the lifeline should be used only for Sreeram or Shivam.

All in all it just boils down to an opportunity to extend the show a bit longer. Ultimately lifeline or not, there will be only one winner and junta does not change their mind so easily.

But it would be nice if judges used it for a worthy singer like Sreeram or Shivam. I trust Salim and Sunidhi to be more objective and rational about it, they seem fair to me. Anu Malik has a good ear but he is to eccentric and finicky to be trusted with such decisions.

This lifeline thing was in american idol as well so i guess they got it from there and it's good in a way if they use it to save shivam, sreeram, naushad, shashi, bhoomi but i hope they don't use it for the wrong contestant
