Yep. Movie came out in 1999. It was her first song. She became the youngest ever to be nominated for filmfare awards with this great singing.

Well, what I meant by "I really wanted to give this an 8" was that I was at 7.5, and I wanted to round up, but I didn't. If you're at 7.5, 7 or 8 is okay, no matter what you use as a justification.

Young, bubbly and fresh voice and a nice song...Not as good as the top two on my list, but definitely better than the others...I give her an 8 😃

I somewhat feel this was not sunidhis best though. According to me this song kind of sounds too loud. Sunidhi in her later years gave more rocking performances.

Great singing for her first song, energetic and peppy and nice harkats, and singing with sonu she held her own, well sung

I gave this song an 8.

Why?

I judged this song on the basis of the theme and the people it was targeted at.
Youthfulness and youth.

The movie, mast, released in 1999 by RGV marked the debut of nitin raikwar as lyricist and sandeep chowta as the music director and was sunidhi chauhan's big ticket launchpad to bollywood.

The movie revolved around a crazy college going fan of a movie superstar who just wanted to see more of her and only her, of course at the expense of his studies and career. A movie like this targeted at metro youth surely deserved peppy kind of tracks and many of the tracks completely justified the theme of the movie.

Now coming to the ruki ruki track, sunidhi chauhan to me seemed perfect voice-that of fresh aired, youthfullness and of course, being a teen that time, completely geled with the demands of the film. At every step, she complimented sonu nigam, another youth singing star that time, extremely well, so it deserves an 8. Amazing background beats, especially the one of the railway engine at the beginning, only add to the mood.

Too bad the film flopped, it did deserve better. And the song was amazingly choreographed too, especially the scene over the ferry where urmila dances superbly.

There are a few places where she seems to be a little over the top in this particular song....Nonetheless...its flawless as far as the expressions, spunk and the attitude is concerned!

She gets an 8 from me here !

Given the nature of the song, the throw of voice is very important, of course, backed with youthful attitude that she had, and she excelled in both.
