Indian Idol Scripted

What you think???? Is it scripted or not especially the audition floor

I absolutely think some parts are definitely scripted.

The way anu acts, lol its so obvious yaar ;)

Thats what is biting in my head. Anu thinks he is the brand ambassador of Indian Idol

If I was producing Indian Idol 5 then I would definitely hire some freaks to add comedy to the show. And of course I would ask the judges to add some masala by saying things like 'call your mum' or do the old reject-then-select formula!

For my part, I'm fine with this level of scripting - it adds entertainment! Also, if you look at people like Sunidhi, Anu, Sonu, Alka etc. - they had struggle sooo much to even get noticed. And here THEY are going to people and giving them the opportunity. I think it's fair enough if they play around with the contestants for a minute or two haha!

And as for being scripted - a reality show SHOULD be scripted to a limit. As long as the performances are real and the voting results are real, I am fine!

That is something that pinches me more than often as I am watching reality shows....

Yes in my opinion Indian Idol is scripted ... There were more than one instance where I strongly felt that.... I am not sure about what you people have to say but there have been contestants who acted extremely weird in front of the judges...To some extent I felt that was the unnecessary drama cooked by creatives to pull TRPs....For instance the guy who wrote a poem for Abhijeet....or the girl whose name was Anu and she created a big mess after being rejected...and there were many others where I could smell the scent of a desperate script to grab attention....

Somehow I always incline towards contestants who just sing and dont indulge in telling stories which surely are heart wrenching but would look good on a documentary or a show like Lift Kara De.... With due respect to all those who are telling the truth but I feel its a musical show and so they should let the music to do the talking...If they sing well naturally they get your sympathies too...

As long as its not overly done, I agree, some mirch masala adds entertainment to the show. But when entertainment starts becoming a higher priority than singing or accurately judging the contestants, that's when I have a problem. Of course, every once in a while, it'd be nice if Anu Malik turned it down a notch ... but that may be too much to ask. 😆

I mean, sometimes it's pretty obvious that the script has been made up, like in the Kolkata auditions,w hen the guy was cursing Anu Malik and he shows up behind him. I mean, why did Anu Malik come out when he was being cursed at? He usually doesn't come out to see off the rejected, per se.
