So just because they do not "look" like "you" does not mean that they are not citizens of this country. They are as Indian as I, you or anyone else is and have the same rights.

I agree with you and they are as Indian as anyone else but just a quick question. Was kapil born in India? :S
Cos his dad sure looks like a Gurkha born and brought up in Nepal so not sure about kapil. He could be a Nepali Indian just like a lot of us are American Indians/British Indians so I refuse to comment on Kapil as an Indian for now.
Sourabhee on the other hand is clearly born and brought up in india so she has the full right to win! =D
I know im being a lil controversial but @ the first pic, yeah kashmir may be in india but i assure you through experiences from my own family, a hell of a lot of them refuse to call themselves Indian so why should we label them as that? Meh.
Just a quick qstn soldisnake, are you an indian/nepali? You don't need to answer if you don't want to. =)

To begin with one has to be an Indian citizen to contest in Indian Idol. This in fact proves that Sourabhee and Kapil are INDIANS.

North East people have battalions of their own under Indian Army (a battalion comprises of about 1,000 men). Thye fought and defended our terrtorial integrity in Kargil War in 1999. What more proof they could give that they are Indians. It's really shameful as opposed to sad that some people who proclaim to be Indians do not even own thier own people and country.

Now just because North East people look different doesn't not mean that they are not Indians. They are very much a part of India like you or me... They rightfully deserve every right that an Indian citizen has and that includes winning Indian Idol...

you are so true
I strongly agree with you.
They are indians in every way and its stupid to say that its a nepali idol just because some has small eyes.
This behaviour of Indians makes India what it is today only if this stupid behaviour wasnt present India would have been a better country and i would have been even more proud of being an INDIAN!!!!

@ SolidSnake: Thank you so much for all the pics. I really appreciate it.

@hindu4lyf: Your narrow mindedness is indeed very sad. Kapil is as Indian as you are. His dad is a Gorkha and incase you did not know Gorkhalis are also residents of India.

Good post SolidSnake. If Kapil is Indian enuf to be a part of the army, whats wrong in him competing in India Idol? He might not be a good singer, but calling him a foreigner because his dad is a Gorkha is not fair.

Deepak thanks for the topic and all the pics...They are as much indian as any one us here.....People choose to see some as indian when they want to and exclude and discriminate others when they don't want them in competition...Down right Ghor anyaay...

Small mindedness and discrimination is obvious due to strong regionalism....People become blind when they are supporting one of their own....and stop acknowledging others mere existance as Indians....How sad??
