I am sorry if I offended you or anyone here but she definitely said, "You are my dad, you are my boyfriend." I have heard dads referred to as best friends but not boy friend. Maybe I am too old fashioned that way.

Call me old-fashioned but could it be that she did not quite realize in her naivete' that a "boyfriend" tag usually comes with the responsibility of consensual sex with its bearer, performed at fairly regular intervals?

(BTW, I missed watching this episode so don't know what exactly happened or how old Anu's daughter appears to be. If she is "too young to know better" than this thread should not have cropped up in the first place).

You have to take words used in the context. In here boyfriend is used in the context, that he is cool, trusting, fun to be with and have as a father. You often hear a girl talk about her gay boyfriend, in that case it means having a fun friend who is emotionally intimate but not sexually.

Its like when people use terms like "Iphone is da S**t" Somehow in time, s**t became something good.
