16 May 2021: I liked mukhdaa of song of Arunita, antara was substandard.

Sayli: wonderful. Rest depend upon votes

Anjali: I am speechless, I hope first time Anjali would get more votes

Other singers: I closed my tv

Watched the promo of Sayli’s performances. Both very good. She is showcasing her ability

Kudos to all contestants for their passion and hard work put into their performances that keep their fans happy.

It's not a matter of jealousy or targetting anyone. It's a matter of who's deserving of the title. The fact is it's very rare in Indian Idol where winner goes on to achieve great heights. Exceptions include Abhijeet Sawant, Sreeram, and Salman Ali. I am not opposed to screaming singers. I liked Salman Ali and felt he was deserving of the title. However everybody (Sunny, Sawaii, etc) just seems like they are trying to copy him. I myself enjoyed Danish's singing but lately he's been kinda doing more alaps than normal (which is regularly complained about in this forum). SMP just isn't for me. I always try to find beauty in her singing and I have praised aspects of her singing in my posts at times but mostly her singing is too one-dimensional for my tastes!

If a person cannot differentiate between a class singer and a royal screamer who scream for the sake of screaming, then I rest my case.

Arunita's singing is miles ahead of many contestants. Judges still praise her but overdo with their nautanki for screamers. If an alaap enhances the song, like anytime arunita has done, it is great, but for Danish it has become a default for every performance and the more himesh goes nuts the more Danish screams.

Sawai is good but is not consistent and only sings well in his genre. Anjali has experimented more than him. Smp is stuck in her oodles world, pawan unfortunately has not been able to give his best after his illness. Aashish is not as promising like he was in the beginning, and Nihal is fast improving but underrated

For me the best two are Arunita and Saili

Every fan think their favorite is most deserving. But because they completely taken out judges marking, now it's more to do with who gets more votes which completely upto public whether the contestant who win deserve or not no guarantee. Not sure if public is thinking Pawandeep is a better package go knows. Iam not fan of any of them so for me any of them in top2 is same and ok.

For SMP it's not her fault makers are exploiting her talent in western/rock for their TRP as they don't have others who can do that. Even I wish she can sing one pure classical but iam sure they won't let her do. Literally she is going for more complicated variations most of the times to show her talent. I don't mind people not appreciating it but judging her with out understanding her feels difficult to digest for me.

Personally I still feel the final battle is between Pawandeep and Arunitha only. All others are highlighted sometimes to make show interesting in my opinion.

Arunita - Excellent! A wonderful demonstration of intense emotion and expression, perfect modulation, correct pronunciation, clear throwing, understanding of tune through a beautiful voice. Such combination is really rare. Touched my heart.

SMP - Kudos to her effort. She is a good performer. Good to watch and enjoy. The performance should be very effective in getting votes in short period. Impact may not last for long in everyone's mind.

Danish-Sayli Duet - Good one. Starting was better. Could not carry till end.

Ashish-Pawandeep Duet - First one was ordinary. Second one was better. Enjoyed the second duet. To me, stage presence of Ashish was better than Pawandeep. He attracted my eyes more than Pawandeep during the performance. May be the white costume and his bulky body are the reasons! :)

Sayli - Liked her performance. She did justice to the song. Her devotion to music could be felt.

Anjali - Excellent! So spontaneous in singing all difficult crafts of the song. Good to hear.

Judges were irritating as usual.

Sukhwinder found to be little hyper (though not like Rekhajee :p ) but his presence was worthy to watch.

Overall liked the episode.

Used to enjoy the show but without eliminations it is getting boring.

Some observations:

The buffoon Narayan - please stop picking on certain contestants. I think it would be termed victimisation elsewhere.

And Neha Kakkar....you need a new stylist. Your outfits and style have gone down since you married ?

And please hold the glycerine!

Arunita’s performance was epic. She doesn’t get MBD nor a standing ovation, while the screamers ruled the stage!

SMP’s song by itself is an energetic one that will have you on your feet. Plus the yodelling can camouflage mistakes. No big deal here. Let her try at least just one number like Arunita!
Hitting high notes doesn’t mean screaming. Idol has made it synonymous & the 3 buffoons jump to their feet the more they scream, which encourages people like Danish who otherwise could be melodious even in high notes.
sawai is of course restricted by his genre

Sayli was going off key & couldn’t carry it off in the duet, esp with Danish doing the screechfest. The song needed the rustic flavour & didn’t suit sayli’s voice. Though she is one of my favourites, I found her average yesterday.

Pawan is still the best amongst the boys, though he has not regained his original form. Ashish was better in their duet.

Anjali was good.
Finally, it is Arunita who stands head & shoulders above the rest, and should be walking away with the trophy. The way she brings in the emotion of the song plus the pronunciation ,is just the icing on the cake.
But in a scripted show where screams & poverty rules , the less said the better.

Btws, is there a way to check the veracity of votes? Do they even count? Or is that scripted too?

Oh "screaming" has become such an abused word here!

Screaming, as many have defined here, can very quickly have disastrous consequences, even if you go slightly off key.

Energetic song, delivered perfectly is the most difficult one, which is being done every episode by SMP

In none of the songs of SMP, she has gone off key.

As for yodelling, getting it perfect is an art, that's why no else has even tried it continuously.

Other singers are doing a good job of DUPLICATING, the original songs, that's all

Where as SMP, is creating a complete new bench marks by experimenting variations, and delivering them flawlessly.

So many times she has been denied opportunity to sing solo in episodes, but even 2 minutes is sufficient for her to make a mark ...

and that's what sets her apart from other contestants

I think yodelling is also the most misused word with respect to SMP. Yes she does yodel well. But that is not all that she does. I wish someone would understand what yodelling means and she did not yodel for even 1 sec in yesterday's performance.
