Well it's not like we're asking the singers to dance or act or anything? We're judging them by their ability to sing only. But even so, if they want to stick to their own style, can't they at least bring variety in that? In season 10, Salman, Nitin, Ankush, Neelanjana all had their own style but they did venture out of their comfort zone (some more than others). There were bhajan specials, folk special, qawalli special, etc. In an earlier season, there even used to be disco specials, and episodes dedicated to different ras or emotions, like shringaar ras, hasya ras, etc. (Indian Idol Junior 1).

Lol, this show is repeating the same songs over and over again, and we as an audience aren't even allowed to ask for some variety.
