Have never felt so dumbfounded watching a performance lately as much as I did after watching Boogie and Saumya today. I'm so overwhelmed right now. I was the one who thought Boogie would become repetitive after a few episodes but what is this guy and how has he turned the tables man!!

I don't know there is something about this song that brings the best out of anyone who dances on it. First it was Vartika-Tiger-Sanchit. Then I thought no one could top them and came Shivanshu with his audition on D+6 and then when I thought no one could top him came Boogie and Saumya. Uff what a performance, WHAT A PERFORMANCE!! Every move of theirs was so overwhelming and so full of emotions and soul. There was a bit where Boogie is doing the waving and Saumya is moving her belly rigorously and my jaws dropped.

I will write about today's episode in another post because I want this to only and only be about Boogie and Saumya. I'm so happy for Saumya. She is one of the very few contestants who has never been seen before in any competition. She was literally a nobody before IBD 2. She just came out of the blue and is bloody KILLING it in every show! And all of this at just 19 years of age! Wow!

Seems like someone from Sony Walo read our conversations of SD4 & IBD2, took all the complains in consideration, and gave IBD3 a whole different new direction 👏 i know i shouldn't jinx it but this weekend was too good 👏 I'm still in shock that these episodes aired in Sony 🤪

Akshay and Vartika's chura ke dil mera was very straightforward, some little moments were exceptional but i don't know if the whole grand setup was necessary 🤪

Murgam and Samarpan's Mai Agar Kahu was what u call contemporary at it's best 👏 the whole ASL concept was so so so beautifully portrayed and then their twinnings, so overwhelming 👏 so proud of those two for representing contemporary like this 🤪

Shivam and Sonali presented a peppy Bollywood number, i have no complaints, i enjoy watching Shivam dance, the guy is so swift and smooth 👏 but there was another shock waiting for me after his performance 🤪 it is too much 🤪 he is supposed to be always doomed and gloomed 🤪

Oooooo Sushmita, u just maar me dala 👏 first of all, what a song and what an interpretation 👏 who would have thought Nehi Samne could be done like this. The way Sushmita played wave 🤪 so good 🤪 it must have been so physically taxing to portray those unrest waves but she was too good. 🐍 Did a brilliant job with the concept and danced his heart out. That playful version of his signature gliding moves at the end was 👏👏👏

And then Boogie bhaiya entered and made every other performance redundant 🤪 He owned this act from the first flute sound and didn't stop till he made sure u see nothing but him 👏 the choice of song, the mix, the staging, the choreography, the whole production was of another level 👏 Saumya let him play front field and boy did he play with the music the fluidity he has and the control he has over those fluidity is so unreal. His body used every bit and then from Ro Maat Ro Maat portion till the end, i was just like Geeta

and also overwhelmed like Vartika 🤪 this is like that one performance u gonna remember for rest of ur life, same like Sanchit, Tiger and Vartika's trio act on the same song 👏

After Boogie Bhaiya, Apeksha's act fell a bit short in terms of creativity and execution. I don't think except the last dead drop, she landed any other flips cleanly. And tbh Tushar choreographed better voguing and waacking than this Arundhati needs to learn a lot if she wanna continue as a choreographer because she needs to be attuned to her contestant and work around her strength and weakness.

Ram, Sushmita and Apeksha were in bottom, they battled it out, and Sushmita was the only one watchable cause Ram and Apeksha's kushti was unbearable for me to watch🤪 and no surprise, Apeksha was eliminated. Norbu was almost on the verge of tears 🤪 also another surprise... They gave new songs for battle 🤪

Congratulations guys, looks like post covid lethargy is slowly fading away from dance shows because we again got a terrific episode today! Two banger weekends back to back, itni meherbaani kab se shuru kiya Sony ne 🤣

Starting off with Vartika and Akshay- finally the audition wala Akshay is back. And it was unreal to see Vartika doing a soft number for once 😆 Really liked the whole choreography and the whole playful nok-jhok of Krishna and Radha in their style even though I would've never imagined to associate Radha-Krishna with this song 😆 Loved Akshay's solo and the whole bit they did with the other female choreographers acting as gopis. Very cinematic looking act. Idk if they deserved immunity but 30 is good!

Yaar what to say about Param and Samarpan man. I kid you not if they keep doing the same style and the same steps every week I will still watch them glued to the television. That's how smooth their moves are. I like that Param is now trying to sew in a storyline to their act and at the same time not compromising on the dancing. It was simple and sweet plus Main Agar Kahoon in itself is such a beautiful song that it perfectly complimented their dancing.

Also completely loved Terrence's performance with Samarpan. Gotta give it to Terrence for not just popularizing Contemporary in the mainstream but also not losing touch with practice. He is close to 50 yet completely ate Samapran up 😆

I enjoyed Sushmita and Subhranil 's act, I thought the choreography and the execution was good but didn't find it as extraordinary as the judges. I just wish they cover the whole stage while dancing instead of standing at one place. Like Boogie is also a similar kind of dancer but you can see him moving around the stage giving different dimensions in his waving. I kinda miss that in Sushmita.

I thought Sonali and Shivam's was chaotic like Anu and Hansvi's yesterday. Sonali was trying to catch up breath while Shivam didn't disappoint at all and was dancing like the fabulous dancer he is. In judges language, I thought there was too much 'jhaama' and less dancing moments in the act. Ofcourse it was very enjoyable because of the energetic song and sets but something was off in between them as partners. Macchi CALM DOWN CALM DOWN PLS CALM DOWN!! 😭 Don't let the graceful bollywood dancer in you from SD1 fade away :(

I really enjoyed Apeksha and Arundhati today. Apeksha was completely out of her comfort zone and I loved how she tried her best to execute the act. That last drop was insane! However still something was missing between them both in the chemistry department. I mean IBD is known for dancers of the same gender having fabulous chemistry but this time I'm finding it lacking in the all girl jodis. But yes Apeksha still needs a lot of work. Her stunts are still unclean. I would've loved to see more of her than Ram b-boying the hell out every week but well clealy Apeksha was the weakest in the battle. Sushmita on the other hand absolutely killed it.

Overall a VERY satisfying week for me. All I saw was dance, dance just dance and also celebration of dance. Also is it just me who for the first time am not fast forwarding any section of the show? I am really enjoying the little gags and acts they are showing in between too because most of it is dance based and is genuinely funny most of the times. Thank god they stopped with the little poverty p0rn that they milked before. I love how the banter since the last two weeks have been more around the dancers and the choreographers. It truly feels like a celebration of dance. And can I say how much I love Sonali's addition to the show? Not like Malaika was bad but Sonali never goes overboard. She speaks less but whatever she tells is worth listening.

Really looking forward to see what they do next week. IGT auditions are already begining so I think they won't waste time, the show this time looks like it's on a race track. With the level of competition no way does it look like a show in It's third week only!

I was wondering how come the performances this time are so good and realized its because all the choreographers and the team has actually come back after a big break and it's showing on the acts.

The whole team was overworked and oversaturated after SD 4, IBD 2, Dance Deewane Juniors and DID Super Moms back to back. Not just the choreographers but even the head choreography team like Binny and others- I think they were part of all the projects back to back either front of camera or behind. And they needed this break of never ending Indian Idol to let their creative juices flowing again.

I slowly realized two very important things after the last two weeks- This time they have switched the whole concept of giving contestants choreographers of their same genres. Most of the contestants this time have choreographers who are not from the same school of dance. Yet I absolutely love how hard the choreographers are working to tune into their contestants dance style. Since I have been following Shweta from start, I have noticed that except for the last bit in their grand premiere act, she hasn't used a single Bharatnatyam step till their act yesterday and it's always Kathak based because of Shivanshu. And even though they both are classical dancers, the styles are so different yet they never fail to create magic. And I'm sure it's with all the other jodis. I think it's amazing on the choreographers part to work so hard in giving us such amazing acts.

And second, it was only when they started teasing Vaibhav about his age did I realize that half of the choreographers are actually ageing. We have been seeing people like Anu, Pankaj, Tushar, Sonali choreograph so many shows back to back and they themselves started with DID and other shows as contestants long back. I'm pretty sure most of them are in their late 20s or early 30s and it's really not easy to dance with either kids or youngsters in their early years and match up to their energy. I think that's why it keeps showing sometime in their act when the choreographer goes a little weak in middle of the act. So a big 🤗 to them for still continuing to give in their best and managing the performances every week like a pro.

Idk last two weeks episodes just made me so emotional about India's dancing community as a whole that we are used to watch on TV. I'm sure most of us have been around since DID days and grown up watching them and no matter how they have turned into now, hat's off to Remo, Geeta and Terrence for creating such a vast and beautiful community of dancers. I absolutely love how the quality of dance shows in India are increasing by leaps and beyond with every year! 🤩

Okay now enough of happiness and tareef. Can already sense the judges or Sony jinxing it next week 😆

I've learned to ignore Sonali in their acts because she is just too much 🤪 matlab its like she drinks one large glass of Cola+Fanta+Sprite and gets sugar high b4 performance and then on stage she dances like ....... I don't even have any analogy for her dance 🤢 what happened between SD2 & SD4 that she became this weirdo 🤔🤔🤔

Has any elimination happened so far? I think this season will be longer than the last one.
