I was disappointed by the way the Side Characters's Respective Arcs were neglected throughout Season 1. Especially Arpita's. Rajshri Rani is truly a Seasoned Actress in ITV.
Malini's First PF established the Anchors firmly around BOTH Aryan and Imlie - instead of just Imlie. The Protagonists became 2 instead of 1, and many of the Audience realised that Adilie parted forever and AryLie turned into the Endgame.
And I love love love love the take you have on the Gen Leap. Aditya-Malini-Imlie-Aryan could only improve a tad bit from Dev-Anu-Meethi-Satyakaam. And Kunal Chauhan's Existence was obliterated by the Transformation of Malini into a full-fledged Narcissist.
But if we are to take this Plot, Aditya's lack of Decision Making when it came to Malini-Imlie is righted through His Daughter&Niece sticking together and successfully confronting Atharva. The Love Story that Malini and Kunal could have had is Lived by Her Daughter and His Son. Both Cheeni and Imlie immediately recognises the Men who were always with them - in much shorter spans of time than their Mothers and Maternal Grandmothers, and grows up into Independent, Strong-Willed Women leading fulfilled Lives.
Ahhh. How Poetic !
I'm Not sure if you have already read this - but there is a One-Shot describing a Plot with the Re-Incarnation Track as well. It stops mid-way as the Author just wanted to prove that the re-incarnation track would work perfectly well with the existing cast itself. It is there in Wattpad - AryLie OS : To Love You Once Again. Imlie Junior (Riddhima 'Imlie' Chauhan) is brought in as Kunal Chauhan's pampered, spoilt-brat of a Daughter and Ayaan 'Aryan' Singh Rathore is introduced as Jaggu's Younger Brother and an Estranged Sunder-Arpita's Son who is Born on the Day of the Demise of Aryan&Imlie, and brought up entirely by a bitter Arpita who is hardened by Deaths. Cheeni is a Grey Character and Malini is shown to be serving Jail-Term for her Numerous Crimes.
That One and now, this Plot, are the ones that - as You aptly declared - "Rewrites History".
