They made us believe that they are in a relationship, and we started watching the show more interestingly. Now I guess, Either Gul forced him to arrange an interview and clear the air so in Imlie 2 people can accept Sumbul with a new male lead or due to his exit from the show he does not need people to believe being him in a relationship with Sumbul to increase viewership.

Yes it's definitely an attempt to kill buzz so that new ships are more acceptable to audience for both of them wherever they go.
It's not like they will work together again anytime soon. And maybe never.
