Now coming to the reasons why I connect with Aryan more than Imlie. The first reason I have already mentioned in my previous post.

One of the major reasons why Arylie got separated is due to Imlie's never changing nature. She has always prioritised others over herself. And no I will not say this is unique. It is sometimes self destructive and toxic. Which has exactly happened with Imlie. She knowingly fell into Malini's trap despite repeated warnings from Aryan. Why because she wanted to save gudiya with whom she fell in love within 2 seconds. That she forgot she has a family and cheeku. One needs to be selfish for their own good reasons. And Imlie never learnt that. Let us go to the argument between Arylie. Imlie saying MC was a hadsa. Fact; Hadsa nahi tha. It was a well thought and well planned move by malini. And Imlie herself gave malini the open invitation to plan that MC. She should have listened to Aryan for once.

Also Imlie's obsession with Gudiya didn't go down well with majority. Be it online or offline audience. And this is THE MAJOR reason for disconnect. Don't get me wrong. But the way makers showed Imlie running after Gudiya, it made an impression to both online and offline audience that she is indeed obsessed with Gudiya. The makers wanted to justify it by saying she is saving Gudiya as gudiya is her niece. But the makers failed here. They failed to convince the audience. If it was out of sympathy, then why not pick any kid with illness from adoption centres and make their lives better? Why Gudiya? Makers failed to answer these questions in the mind of the audience.

the indirect messaging seems to be that divorced people can never get over their first marriage and will keep being obsessed with them. so better not to marry a divorce -- wasn't that what blue aunty said? 🤢

that is so wrong! unless a divorced spouse shares children, neither do they have any contact and even if they do, it is just civil (for the sake of children). otherwise, people move on and can build happy second marriages where they are focused solely on their new spouse. that is life. so to have this kid in the picture drives me nuts!

keeping that aside, I don't believe it is a smart move at all by the CVs. I really don't. I will tell you why. you can write exes-reunited trope without this kind of weird kitchdi. it is poignant, bittter and full of life. you feel pangs when they meet because they tear each other apart with resentment, anger and frustration .

when they finally reunite, it is because they have both put in the work to understand what went wrong, both acknowledge how they needed to change, both try to see the view from each other's shoes. they both accept the choices they made and the way the reacted could have been different. both characters have changed, matured and grown by the end.

enlightened --- both you and I know that the CVs will not have imlie mature because they think people like the immature imlie. for some of us, she is highly unlikeable.

by bringing this kid into the picture, it actually means imlie has to confront the choices she made in her first marriage and how she hurt malini as well. this is in addition to fixing her relationship with aryan. can we realistically expect anything on those lines?

we know that aryan will just cave because the kid is cute and he will apologize whie imilie stays mahaan and arrogant that she did no wrong. 😡🤦

whether it is a ML or FL, I expect accountability for one's choices, acceptance of themselves and growth. since imlie refuses to admit she is wrong or accept that choices have consequences, my vote is firmly for aryan.

I have not watched the show since May but am mostly aware of what's going on and this is a wonderful response Mango! The 5 year leap + kid reuniting parents (and in this case neither of them are her bio parents which is what makes it even more ???) plot is so common in ITV (and in Bengali, etc etc etc) serials and I so rarely enjoy it.

We all also know that unless it's a show that was going to have an epic 18+ year leap so that the show becomes about the children, the show always ends a few months after the kid shows up anyways so it makes me wonder if they're just trying to get to November to say that they had two years and then end.

Imlie will be 90 years old and still only thinking about herself and her "apne" in ways that are immature and unreasonable and it's frustrating because as discussed 1001 times and more on IF/Twitter/elsewhere, it detracts from what could be a fun and fascinating series. Instead of we have unnecessary numbers of bad guys and now none of the characters are enjoyable to watch (tho Malini going pure evil is hilarious).

kiddo will bring them back together, they'll fight and [all the usual shenanigans], get back together for the umpteenth time, put malini back in jail, the show will end and it will be depressing for everyone involved.

you got a point -- any time a kid enters a picture (when they weren't part of the story before), we end up gearing up towards a leap at some point. so who knows what will happen with imlie....

the only time kid + drama works is if the child was already part of the drama story from the onset and not just randomly inserted track. kid + drama can also be weird -- sometimes the kids act bizarrely like adults (with their dialogues), some try to act super cutesy but come out bratty. very few kid + dramas have them acting like actual real breathing kids. so it is even more of a challenge. we will have to see how it plays out. but yea, tempered my expectations to just time pass for now. 🤷

While I voted for Aryan. I am not fully convinced with it myself. I was away for few days and have only seen few clips on Twitter today.

Imlie I could never connect and nothing has changed still for me. she got what she wanted, her gudiya and now another chance to be a saviour, who will save Aryan from Malini. Doesn't matter that it was she herself who brought Malini in his life and home. Imlie the FL can never be wrong, will never introspect or apology.

Aryan, one I connect with till date but am disappointed with today. When I started, I loved how he used to mentor Imlie to focus on work and realise how pathetic AKT was. Today's Aryan on self destruction path, I am disappointed. He should realise that Imlie is not worth this love and he should not destroy himself for losing her. Aryan who used to prioritise his self respect above all is lost and that is my problem. I won't mind the hard but strong Aryan we saw in beginning. Someone who hates and detests the feeling called Love.

So now I want Aryan to follow what he preached once. But I know the show is called Imlie and CVs will once again show her being right all along. Make Aryan apologize and all this is needed so that she can save him. We never ever had 50-50 partners thanks to writers.

Unfortunately I don't have on-off switch where I forget past and just enjoy this track as separate or soft boot. And sorry, I don't like the track if they show kid as one to bring Arylie together, not done. No expectations, I know the story, Imlie will be shown right, Aryan will apologize, kids will bring them together. Not looking forward to the serial anymore, have hardly 5% interest left now which might fade away soon.

Now seeing Aryan destroying himself, all the mothers/MILs will sympathise with Aryan while all the tormented daughters in law/single mothers will side with Imlie. The online audience doesn't matter to the channel & makers. Phir bhi I would like to know whom we are supporting. I am now trying to watch the postleap version, totally disconnecting it from preleap one. For me it's a new story where Aryan 3.0 is hating himself for letting go of his ex & is waiting for death to embrace him while Imlie 3.0 is completely a different person who is not aware of any Aryan's existence, but will soon be taking up on her new mission 'Save Aryan from Malini', which this time is going to be really tough for her as it's not only Malini she has to deal with, but a highly arrogant egoistic Aryan too. This is the only way I can watch these two class actors living again another shade of their characters and I am excited watching them as different individuals who are yet to meet for the first time. Yes, it's true that I have a soft corner for Aryan; but it's also true that I have a soft corner for Sumbul because of which I can't dislike Imlie. So, I am here supporting both Aryan & Imlie, while at the same time not being invested much, as I don't trust SP & the makers anymore.

P.S. Gudiya aka Cheeni is here with a mission entrusted on her by Sita Mayya. That's to bring Aryan & Imlie together and to make sure Malini gets her dues. If you want to enjoy this track, that's the easy way to see it, without complaining of anything Imlie has to do with Cheeni.

Love your analysis. And agree to you on many aspects including love for SK as a result biased towards Imlie.

Yes that seems to be story......malini hate for Aaryan, trying to destroy him and Imlie mission to save him but with guilty aaryan there will be good tashan we all can enjoy only if execution is properly planned and not rushed.

Honestly, this is my frustration with the story since long and now it's really hitting my patience limits...

However, this is sad part of ITV, like for long I kept hopes that Anupama will learn difference between family and abuser, in the end I lost my patience (stopped completely) and her Mahaan, Parivaar pyaar continues, I lost all my respect for Anuj too along the way..hope, with Imlie it doesn't happen and we see some really good story.
