Chapter 4
Unaware of the events, AKT tried to call Imlie but she wasn't responding to his call.
Aryan heard music playing loudly, the next morning. He went to investigate, he saw Imlie & his didi Arpita dancing. They finalising DJ for sangeet.
"DJ wale babu mera gaana chalna chahiye, ye kya techno, edm. Dhin chak music bajna chahiye" Imlie said.
Aryan looked at Imlie, she seemed happy. Only she didn't have time for him. She was always with his sister Arpita or sometimes with his mother or both. But, she never took initiative to spend time with him.
Dancing Imlie went to Aryan, " Nacho Akkadbagge" at the same time Psycho Saiyaan started playing. Imlie laughing tried to dance with Aryan who was still sulking.
Arpita joined in & they both were dancing around Aryan.
"Dulhe Raja aapki hi shaadi ki taayari chal rahi hai" Arpita said.
"Didi aap aur Imlie dono enjoy kar rahe aisa lag nahi raha meri shaadi hai" Aryan complained.
"Imlie, Aryan ke sath jao time spend karo" Arpita ordered "Ab Khush"
Aryan said nothing & looked at Imlie to see how she would react.
"Aapki baat ko mana kaise kar sakti hu " she said to Arpita, who winked at her.
Sulking, Aryan went back to his room without commenting on Imlie's generous nature.
Imlie followed him, "Akkadbagge" she said in a singsong voice.
"Don't talk to me" Aryan said to Imlie.
"Theek hai" she replied in same singsong voice & went back to Arpita Didi.
Ye ladki ko meri padi nahi hai. Mujhe mana ne ki bhi zaroorat nahi samjhi, Aryan thought.
He was still sulking during lunch. When he noticed, Imlie was there on the dining table.
He went to her room "Tum lunch ke liye nahi aayi" he asked her.
"Hum tumse baat nahi kar rahe" she replied.
He went to her, pulled her close to him "Kha lo warna dance nahi kar paogi. Tumhari shaadi hai na, enjoy nahi karna." He said.
"Hum..hum.." she trailed of.
"Hum kya, Imlie?" He replied.
"Hum ne suna tum former Mr. India runner up ho" then she started laughing.
He looked at her, it gave her a great pleasure to tease him. He was willing to do anything to see her carefree, smiling & laughing. Instead of behaving like she's carrying the world on her shoulders.
Sundar, ex-cook at Tripathi Mansion had left them when he saw how they had treated Imlie. A Tripathi Bahu as their maid. Suddenly, he felt that Tripathi's were classist. Had he married secretly into the Tripathi's, he would have face the same consequence although less severe than Imlie. They treated friendly as along a distance was maintained. Although they were always treated him like a member of the family, in reality he wasn't one.
Tripathi's made it clear that day when argument arose when it was revealed Imlie was married to AKT. He clearly remembered Aparna saying "Agar koi family member jaisa maan ke haas bol le iska ye matlab nahi ki shaadi bhi karwa denge".
So he left, to pursue a career as a restaurant chef. He knew if he continued working as a cook in someone's home, he won't be respected.
After his stint in couple of restaurants, he gained enough experience to own a business in catering. His little catering business was famous around the nearby areas. He had catered around 10-15 families for their various functions. Because of word of mouth, he gained more customers even repeat customers.
Arpita heard about him through a friend who had hired him to cater her family function. So Arpita called him and asked for appointment to sample his food. She went that afternoon & tasted his famous dishes. She was impressed with the taste & quality of food while Sunder was impressed with her humble sweet nature.
She booked him to cater at the wedding. But she still wanted her mother & Imlie to taste his food also. So, she asked him to pack a sample.
Imlie looked at Aryan who was working in hall. She realised what he said earlier about not spending time with him was true.
Imlie sat besides Aryan & said " Tum abhi bhi gussa ho mujhse" she asked.
But Aryan didn't reply. He wanted to see how she would pacify him.
"Tum humse baat nahi karoge toh Arpita didi se daat khaoge" she said.
"What" Aryan exclaimed.
"Call kare didi ko" she said
"Tum humare beech, didi ko kyu la rahi ho" Aryan said.
"Theek hai nahi laate hai" she replied.
"Jungli" he said.
" Tum khush toh ho naa, Imlie" Aryan asked seriously.
"Ha, ab kya stamp paper pe likhe" she asked him. Imlie was touched, he cared enough to ask how she was feeling. After being neglected, humiliated & rejected, she felt surreal. She sat besides him, lost in her own thoughts subconsciously keeping Aryan company.
Aryan was happy to have her besides him.

Chapter 5
Arpita was running around supervising the decorations for Mehendi function when she realised, she had forgotten food arrangements. The cook they had hired for rest of the functions had overbooked himself. So, he messaged her earlier, that he won't be able to cook food for Mehendi function.
Arpita was furious with his attitude, so she dismissed him & cleared his dues.
She called Sunder, hoping he was free to cater in such short notice.
Sunder's wedding booking got canceled last moment because the bride's family had disagreement with groom & his family regarding the wedding preparations.
He looked at the amount of food that would be wasted. He wasn't paid for it as well. Just then, he received a call from Arpita who asked if he could cater at such short notice.
He agreed replying his booking just got canceled, he could bring that food for the function.
Aryan sneaked to Imlie's room without getting spotted by Arpita.
Imlie was surprised seeing him, "Tum yaha kya kar rahe ho"
"Tumhe mehendi lagane aaye hai" he replied.
Aryan drew with mehendi cone he had brought with him. A simple design. Imlie was astonished looking at this man's talent. She took the cone from his hand & wrote इमली on his palm.
Just then Arpita called them outside for the ceremony.
Sundar missed Imlie by few minutes. He had left after delivering the food.
The function started, Arpita was surprised to see a little mehendi design already on her hands. The mehendiwali continued the design & created a beautiful intricate mehendi.
Few hours later, Imlie felt hungry but her mehendi was nowhere near finished. Arpita, Narmada & Meethi all were applying mehendi. She saw Aryan busy on his phone.
"ABP" she called him.
"Khaane k liye kuch lao na" she continued.
He looked at her then went to the food counter that was setup, plated Imlie's favourite dishes then went back to give her the plate.
He stood waiting for her to take the plate. She looked at him annoyed then gestured her hands.
Aryan sat down & started feeding Imlie. Arpita commented "Imlie ka kha k hojaye phir mera number"
"Phir Mera" Narmada continued.
"Phir Amma ka" Imlie said on behalf of Meethi.
"Ha, saari ladkiyon ko khila doonga" Aryan replied.
Imlie gave him a sharp look "what" she said.
Aryan realised how one might perceive his comment "Mera matlab didi, Maa aur Amma se tha, baki ko kyu..." he trailed of.
After feeding Arpita, Narmada & Meethi, Aryan went back to Imlie.
"Mera naam kaha likhaya" Aryan asked searching in her mehendi.
"Nahi likha, mujhe tumhara naam pata hai Ghajini nahi hu, jo tattoo karungi" she replied jokingly. Imlie had asked the mehendi wali to hide his name so that it would be difficult for him to find.
Arpita heard Imlie's comment & laughed out loud "Ye accha tha"
"So, I'm Ghajini because you wrote your name on my hands" Aryan replied.
"Ooooooooo" he heard Arpita saying.
Everyone like the food & praised the caterer Arpita had hired.
Next day, Arpita booked Sunder for all the pre & post wedding functions.
Aryan had left for important meeting that morning. He looked at the mehendi designed on his palm which had darkened. He felt happy, he had gotten a glimpse of Imlie's mehendi this morning which also had darkened.
Imlie looked at her palms maybe this time, she will be loved by her husband who wouldn't say just for the sake of it but also mean it.
There was one thing she wanted to discuss with Aryan but she couldn't bring herself to say it out loud.
That evening, with great courage she went to Aryan who had just retired to his room after dinner.
"Tumne mujhe shaadi ke liye propose kyu kiya" she asked him.
Aryan just looked at her.
"Kyunki tumhe laga hum AKT ko haa bol denge usse phir se shaadi karlenge. Ya phir tumhe laga ki wo humme emotional blackmail karne mein kamiyaab ho jayega" she asked him.
"Ye faisla meine kisi aur ki wajah se nahi kiya" hinting that he didn't do it because of AKT.
"Na mujhe kisiko kuch prove karna tha, Na kisiko sabak sikhana tha, mujhe bas...."
" Mujhe bas kya..ABP" Imlie asked.
"Ye teesri baat udhar rahi" he said.
"Par agar mein propose nahi karta toh tum kya jawab deti, Mr. Tripathi ko" he asked
"Ye baat bhi udhar hi rehne do" Imlie replied.
"Imlie, tum meri liye kuch nahi, nahi ho" he said
"Mein seriously tumhe apna.." he trailed of
"Apna dost maanta hoon" Imlie continued his sentence.
Aryan looked at her helplessly unable to convey his feelings because he thought she wasn't ready to hear it.
" Shayad abhi k liye itna khaafi hai" Imlie said.
Chapter 6
The next day, in the morning Imlie & Aryan had Haldi then in the evening combined Sangeet.
Aryan was getting ready thinking about Imlie. Arpita dragged Aryan before he could sneak out & meet Imlie. His haldi ceremony was scheduled before so he couldn't attend Imlie's mehendi. After Arpita, his mother & Amma applied mehendi he was asked to leave. Arpita was clearing the space for Imlie's mehendi.
Aryan took this chance to sneak into Imlie's room, he was covered heat to toe in haldi, thanks to his didi who played haldi ki Holi by throwing the haldi on him.
He saw she was ready waiting to be called out. She saw & asked "Tum yaha kya kar rahe ho".
He went near her & rubbed his haldi stained cheeks on hers. "Haldi hai toh haldi lagane aaya hoon" he whispered in her ear.
Just then Arpita called Imlie, "Chhodo mujhe" Imlie said to Aryan who still was holding her wrist. She was surprised at his behaviour.
He let her go, for her haldi function. Everyone teased her because of her who appeared after her everyone had applied her haldi. He continued the haldi ki Holi targeting Arpita & Imlie. He had brought haldi powder with him.
Arpita, Narmada & Meethi were happy looking at Aryan & Imlie playing Holi & running after each other throwing whatever liquid or powder that they came in contact with.
Meanwhile, AKT returned from Jaipur. He had decided to go to Rathore Mansion clearly talk to Aryan to let Imlie go. He had just had one problem, he was still married to Malini.
Dev Chaturvedi tried to contact Meethi but she wasn't responding to him. He wanted her help to patch up with Imlie. Looking at his empty house with his daughter & wife in jail & his other daughter not in talking terms with him, he realised his failure as a husband, father & a man.
The Sangeet function started that evening. Arpita asked Sundar to join the function as well.
Aryan & Imlie entered the hall dancing then went towards the small makeshift. After a couple dance, everyone clapped. Then Arpita danced along with Imlie. Imlie danced around Aryan on chaaka chak who was mesmerised looking her dancing.

Aryan & Imlie started dancing together after Imlie's dance performance. Everyone joined them on the dance floor with DJ playing songs selected by Imlie & Arpita.
Just then AKT entered looking at Imlie & Aryan dancing & enjoying together. He saw Imlie laughing at something that Aryan had said to her.
He got angry & left. Imlie clearly had moved on from him but he'll make it difficult.
"Mr. Tripathi, how dare you trespass. Ye aapka garden nahi hai ki muh uthake ghoomne chale gaye" Aryan said he had seen AKT leaving.
"Imlie kitni jaldi kisi aur ke sath chali gayi. Malini ko mein saalo se janta tha par aapko sirf kuch hafto se" AKT argued ignoring Aryan's comment.
"Aap mere fiancée ke baare mein bakwaas mat kijiye. Kal humara shaadi hai & you're officially not invited. Kindly, kal gatecrash karne ki sochna bhi mat. Aapke liye shaadi ka khaana kal bhej diya jayega" Aryan said.
"Rahi baat jaldi ki toh at least aapki tarah ek k sath engagement dusre k sath shaadi" Aryan continued calling his security to escort him outside. He instructed his security team to ban Mr. Tripathi from entering Rathore Mansion.
Imlie went towards food counter setup, when she saw her friend Bandar, "Bandar tum yaha"
Sunder was surprised to see Imlie. He had been busy with catering duties to enjoy the function. "Chipkali tu kaha kya kar rahi hai"
"Humari shaadi hai aur tum puch rahe ho hum apne shaadi k function mein kya kar rahe hai" Imlie replied.
Sundar was surprised & said "Tumhari shaadi par kise"
"Mere bhai se" Arpita replied him. She had heard them talking.
Imlie explained how, she knew Sundar. Then the trio started talking about Imlie.
Aryan went back to the function. He didn't mention about Mr. Tripathi to anyone especially Imlie. He wanted her to enjoy.
That night, Aryan & Imlie were in Rathore Mansion & Imlie wanted to confess something to him, the moment she was about to someone dragged her by her arm towards the door. He shouted her name but wasn't able to move or follow her. He heard Mr. Tripathi's voice saying "Imlie is mine, no matter what you do"
Aryan woke up panting, realising that it was just a dream.
Chapter 7
It was Aryan & Imlie's wedding day. Narmada & Arpita were running around looking at decorations.
Narmada was feeling emotional. Finally, her son who used to run away from marriage, himself wanted to marry. She thought she wouldn't be able to see this day as originally his plan was to do a Court Marriage. Who marries without Band Baaja.
Arpita knew her emotionless brother had emotions which he hid deep inside his heart. She could see him struggling with his emotions when he first had feelings for Imlie. Only in Imlie's case, one would see Aryan's emotions on full display albeit sometimes only flicker of that was visible.
Aryan felt uneasy because of his dream. He had nagging feeling Imlie would refuse to marry him. If she did, he would not force her to.
Imlie & her Amma sat in her room. Her mother was crying because she couldn't believe her daughter was finally getting the happiness she deserved. Although Imlie didn't see Aryan's love for her she was aware of his caring nature towards her. Her mother thought, Aryan would give her wings to achieve her dreams unlike Aditya Kumar Tripathi who caged her.
Meethi was called outside by Narmada. She left Imlie alone.
Aryan went to Imlie's room, he saw her getting ready. She was looking very beautiful. His heart almost stopped beating.
Arpita seeing Aryan at Imlie's door dragged him back to his room.
"Sabar karo Dulhe raja, sabar ka phal Imlie hai....nahi nahi....sabar ki Imlie meethi hai" she laughed at the pun & left.
Imlie heard something, she went to investigate near her window when suddenly it opened. A man whose face was covered put the chloroform doused handkerchief on Imlie's face, she struggled, trying to remove the handkerchief from her face while holding her breath.
She acted as faint while the man removed the handkerchief & moving her to his shoulders upside down then climbed down & hide Imlie in the truck which carried the decorations.
The security was tightened so the man had disguised himself and tagged along inside the mansion with the hired help.
Waiting for the perfect chance, to escape.
Imlie realised she had inhaled little amount of chloroform. She was feeling faint. Luckily, she had her phone. She hid the phone inside her lehenga's pocket then clicked on one of the contacts in last dialled section without looking. The effects of chloroform was strong enough even though she was fighting against it. She realised she had clicked on ABP's contact. He picked her call. But Imlie had already fainted.
Aryan was surprised to receive Imlie's call but he picked it. Receiving no reply, he feared the worst & rushed towards her room.
Imlie was not in her room. Aryan kept the call connected to pick up a clue where she was. He heard Sundar instructing someone to bring some ingredients from the kitchen.
Aryan ran out of house without getting spotted by anyone. He located Sundar then searched the area for Imlie.
Arpita went to Imlie's room to inform her she had 30 mins after which she will be called for the wedding rituals.
But she saw no one there. Thinking Aryan must have sneaked her out, she went to Aryan's. Aryan was also not in his room. Just then she bumped into Sundar who informed her he saw Aryan outside.
Seeing Aryan looking for Imlie, the man sat at the truck's driver seat then started the truck.
The noise alerted Aryan who thought the truck which was still half filled was leaving without unloading the rest of the decorations.
Feeling suspicious he asked the security to stop the truck.
Aryan then listened to the call which was still connected & heard his security team ordering the truck to stop.
His suspicion was correct, Imlie was in the truck.
The truck didn't stop instead it was almost about to run over the security team who moved in time. Aryan drove his car and followed the truck followed by his security team. Aryan overtook the truck, he swerved then stopped his car in front of the truck.
The truck stopped. Aryan's security team went to the driver's side to stop him from escaping while Aryan went towards the back to check whether Imlie was in the truck. He saw her hidden in a large box between some marigold garlands & other decorations. She was unconscious.
He took her in his arms, Imlie gained consciousness only for a second, saw her ABP & put her arms around his neck moving closer to him.
When Aryan looked at her, Imlie had fainted again.
"Tumhe kuch nahi hoga, I'll protect you." He whispered to her.
Subconsciously, Imlie had heard him.
