That day her report was appreciated, as she submitted early and wrote on topic of Water Scarcity. Aryan himself called her in office and said welcome and good luck . It was short visit. She was still embarassed from morning incident.
When she went home, she was happy other than morning problems she face. She got a text, “Keep smiling and Congrats on your report” Vihaan messged. She blocked this number as well. When she went home , her dad was waiting with furious face. “YE SAB KYA HAI?” The whole living room was filled with bouquet of red carnations, yellow all types of colors.
“Baba i reported to police already. Somebody is stalking me” She finally revealed.
“Police? Kon hai yeh ladka? Ye sehar mein rehna hi nai chaate hum. Tumhari ma thi bus jo” he said angrily
“Shut up dad enough! You want to go you go. Am not going anywhere. Koi psycho ho, main thak chuki hu i dont know kyu mere piche pda hai” she said pulling her hair.
“Tumhari shaadi kardunga ek mahine mein, gaav ke mukhya Sushil ke saath” he said
“Haha aur mein karlungi. You cannot force me dad. Sushil wo lafanga , kutta” she said with a grunt
“Language!!” He boomed at her daughter
“I dont care . Am not getting married do whatever you want!” She yelled and went to her room and bang the door closed. She is just beyond exhausted. Again her phone pinged,
“Will you meet me now? Or should i send more flowers?”
“LEAVE ME THE FU** ALONE” she texted back in bold capital letters
“How can i? I love you!” Imlie felt disgusted to see at the most beauitful words that are meant for lovers . She always believed in love, she still does but the current situation is scaring her.
What does she do? Just then she got idea, she pinged him, “MEET MET AT 7PM NEAR KALI BACKROAD”
“Finally!! Yes yes!!! Will wait for you” he texted back.
Imlie changed from work clothes to casual and left to meet Vihaan. She was there early, she wanted to calm her anxiety. He came in a sports luxury car , he got out smiling and came to hug her. She put hands between them, “Please Vihaan, its going out of hand. Please leave me alone. I dont have any feelings for you please! “ She started crying “Please ! I am not able to think straight, i am leaving in fear! You will find better person please!! Dont make me hate word love. Please” She begged with hands folded.
“Stop!” He said , he was shaking “Why are you playing so hard to get huh? What do i need to believe in me?” He came closer but Imlie was quick she removed knife from her purse and pointed to her wrist.
“Aage mat aana. I will slash my wrist. Leave me alone otherwise i will kill myself. I am tired please” she begged again , even though it came as an idea but right now she would kill herself she has hit the rock bottom in her life.
“NO ! NO ! NO” Vihaan backed up and fled in his car. Imlie fell on knees and sobbed somewhere relieved with hope that he stops all this right now.
It seemed that he did rethink his decision. He didnt message or bother Imlie for month. Imlie was finally going back to her routine. At her work, she was trusted with more responsibility.
She was again in coffee room when Aryan entered. “I heard you want to go cover Red Light Area reporting?” He asked seriously.
“Yes Sir, I am always curious on the life of se* workers and survival” she replied
“I want a man to cover it. Not safe for women” he frowned
“Why Sir? I have seen many women reporters handling all kind of area including this topic then why i cannot? I have proved enough in this on month” she said proudly
“Excuse me? Are you going to question your boss now?” he asked but somewhere he liked that this girl has no fear to speak her mind.
“No Sir just stating facts. I can write better report as woman talking to another woman . The emotions that i can understand a male reporter wont understand when interviewing these se* workers. Please” She tried pursuing in hope that she gets the opportunity.
“Hmm” Aryan replied which made Imlie frown.
He left the coffee room without another word. Imlie stood there irritated. “ Ghar pe baba aur ye sir. Please prove me wrong” she muttered to herself.
