No I did not read any articles. Those articles ae usually in Hindi anyway so that automatically excludes my ability to read them.

In essence my post was just saying that the way @ mango structured her post it was in a way that could only lead to the conclusion that the frame used to hold the picture of an ex.

ah I see; I actually had no conclusion at all about the frame and was just wondering why they interjected a melancholic scene in this episode which was mostly comedy....

If its ex lover situation , arpi would have known right.

She says he didnt / doesnt have any girlfriend.

Arpi and aryan seemed to be pretty tight pre arvinds death. I cant fathom him having any girlfriend post arvinds death

yea, whoever it was, it has to be someone from his past pre-Arvind's death -- something about the picture still makes him sad...

i think it is photo of his mom n dad. only his dad missing from all pics. i ask ydy in DT what ppl think of photos cos only narmada, arpita n arvind there not his dad. n he speak of his dad 2-3 times to BM n feel like his father ws under family pressure lot to do thing the way elder brother/BM want n fight for narmada also. so there is some story of his father also

that would be interesting if it ends up being his dad -- so some sort of family angst maybe...

there is some story of their family abt marraiegs cos BM keep saying "ek shaadi phal jaane do". so even narmada n his dad have some story. they hv so big photo of arvind but not of his father in the house so something missing. so tht empty frame now have his wedding pic n u see right nw he dont know wht will future of this wedding be cos they r both in differnt mind about love n dont accept their own feeling also but both value marriage but they dont know

... ooh, what if Narmada was also second wife or something like that? maybe thats why Aryan and his family didn't really have any problems about Imlie's background....

Maybe we are all over thinking. Maybe it was just an empty frame that was there for when needed just in case. The whole situation was really sad actually. The circumstances under which they married, the fact that he can't even acknowledge to himself how he feels let alone admit it to Imlie, the fact that he has no expectations of Imlie ever loving him. All that alone merits the melancholic music but add to that that to have a framed picture of his own marriage Aryan had to resort to photocopying a newspaper article. That is very sad bordering on pathetic actually.

So, I haven’t watched the scene, but based on your post, what if that empty frame was always supposed to contain a picture of Aryan and his wife – when Aryan got married? What if Arvind had gifted the frame to him amidst teasing banter about how things would be when Aryan got married? How the family would celebrate, Arvind would dance and the typical teasing?

The melancholy could be because Arvind was no longer there to dance and tease or see the picture of them nor witness the wedding. Neither was his a love marriage or a happy wedding so all the dreams that the family, he and Arvind had for Aryan's wedding never materialised like they had wished for.

wow, that sounds so heartbreaking -- both sad as well as angst. 😢
