* yesterday's episode was fun but this scene struck out to me the most.
The mystery of the frame --
Why are we hearing melancholic music during the scene? Why is there an empty photo frame on the table among the pictures? Why does Aryan look so sad when he looks at it? What was there earlier? Was it always empty? Did it a contain a photo of his father? His old lover? Himself? Why is there an empty frame just sitting there? What was it that he didn't want to see? At the same time, the ghost of the picture still remains that he does not have the heart to throw away the frame....
A couple photo
His eyes flick to the newspaper and he sees his wedding photo. There is no happiness, no satisfaction but a sort of still sadness. Does he feel sad knowing that his marriage is a sham? Is that what troubles him?
In secret
Why does he have to close the blinds and not let anyone see what he is doing? What is he afraid that people will see? Why is he taking this photo to put in the frame? There was professional photographer -- surely, there were wedding photos. Why not choose one of those? Why does he have to quietly copy the picture from the newspaper and cut it out from the prying eyes of others? What does this newspaper photo mean to him?
In every corner
There is a quiet moment as he gently puts in the photo within the frame. However, it is not a happy face but a sad introspective expression. What is he thinking? What is he feeling? What did it cost to put the photo of Imlie and himself? Did he not yell at her that she is taking over every corner of his life? Why did he then willingly choose to put their picture in the frame?
Incomplete vs complete
And now, the table moves to show an expression of family, fullness. Any passerby would see a table full of love. What would have they thought earlier as they looked at the table?
But still, the question remains -- why was there an empty photo frame among the pictures? What did it represent? What do you think friends? What were you thoughts on the scene?
