There were times I literally prayed the character is not ruined. And honestly though the track may at first seem out of character it is absolutely not.

They portrayed Aryans priorities without making him a door mat. He chose to save Imlie and he chose to be the villain in her eyes by doing so. He let go of the very revenge and purpose in the best way he could have because of imlie and by doing so he was unintentionally saved from not only burning with his own revenge but also losing purpose with the end of his revenge

Imlie still has a choice. A choice to choose herself, her dreams and goals and ambitions. Yet when she chose self destruction Aryan was there to protect her from her own self. Because two years down the line had he not been there she would have looked back and hoped that there was someone then to stop her from her own stupidity.

ASR can move heaven and hell for the people he loves… turning into a villain to keep imlie safe is not a big sacrifice in his eyes.

The more I think about it the more I see that there was no better way for this to play out ( in essence)

Totally agree with you and @shabia...

As much as i understand the character, Aryan is not OCC or ruined or anything,

Do i think he's wrong rn? Yes

Do i agree with his actions? No

But i can understand them, and honestly i saw this coming for so long, yes i was expecting that it played out better, because he was established as consent king right before the forced wedding was thrown in, it was very sudden and no time to digest the turn.

But thing is that arylie relationship would've become stagnant unless there was a conflict between them...

We've seen them as partners, now we still see them as partners in eyes of world but opponents to eachother.

Which person or relationship is black And white ever?

Every relationship needs to go through the test of times and if it comes our stronger only then it's a keeper. Otherwise it's better to cut ties and move on.

@bold perfectly summed up. That's the base character trait of Aryan Singh Rathore. Everything else is reaction to situations.

Exactly! The point is he stays true to his character trait, whether he goes over board with it, or if it is a negative trait is a different discussion altogether and hence this track was coming. It was always coming and even though he may not be completely in the right (love a grey shade tho) his character was not ruined.

@lovereading14 ~ As someone who started watching recently, I don't feel there were abrupt character change in Aryan at all. Instead, it is a smooth transition to this point and even this track does not feel abrupt.
So it isn't a blackmail type situation like I have seen in some old dramas from years ago. It is not a situation where she has no choice or agency. Instead, even when she is begging, he reprimands her and tells her that she should never beg as she would lose power. He asks her to straighten up her spine and negotiate. He teaches her that in negotiations, every party must win some in order to agree. At the same time, the other party has to give something in order to get something they want. Even during that moment, he was trying to teach her his world and how he survived. If she said 'no', he certainly would not have run behind her like a stalker. Instead, he would have cooly accepted and moved on. The game was afoot and his focus had been Aditya from the get go.

Imlie is mad because he thinks he used her but the truth is far different. Aryan always saw her as someone in his camp, someone who had been a victim of Aditya. He said that any insult to his employees was an insult to him. That is why he always protected her. After his brother-in-law's death, he vowed revenge but refused the offer from friends and others. He clearly stated that revenge is his and he will not use anyone. That was his motto. He never played mind games with Imlie to gain her favour or friendship. His help to her was genunine because he saw her as a victim.

During the negotiation, she asked for a fake marriage. He agreed. He did not arm wrestle her into a real relationship. It was her terms -- she made that choice and he was satisfied with this negotiation.

If anyone has changed this, it is Aditya who insisted that they do the rituals because he refused to take 'no' for an answer. It is Aditya who is unable to accept that the road has split for him and life has happened. It is Aditya who is unable to accept that he rejected Imlie and it is too late. He assumed that like always, Imlie will be waiting for him whenever he looks. He pushed Imlie and Aryan to prove it was true because he can't believe that he has been rejected. So Aryan did not create this real marriage track -- that happened because of Aditya.

On the other hand, Aryan is not someone who is back out of a challenge -- you poke, the lion will roar back. That is Aryan's character. Since Aditya threw the challenge, Aryan accepted. As Aryan asked, Imlie could have said the truth to his family or the Tripathi family. Yet, she has chosen to protect Aryan's image. Again that is a choice she made. Aryan is prepared for the consequences whichever way it falls. He does not need her to protect him and neither will his family have a meltdown if they learn the truth. Why? Because he and his family have been through a storm and survived.

Aryan is a survivor who was forced to shut down his own emotions and pick up the pieces of the business, the family and all those who depended on him four years ago. He does not expect the world to be rosy and does not get rattled if things turn against him. He has no image to protect and does not care to give explanations even when Imlie misunderstands him.

He just wants to protect Imlie and have her be strong. If that meant her being on her own, he wouldn't bat an eye. Did he drag her to the engagement in yesterday's episode? No, he took her hand and she didn't remove her hand from his. Instead, she looked at him in half shock as well as wonder and walked behind him. She held his hand back. Again, that was a choice she made.

Loved your analysis👍🏼

I have been saying this from the beginning, it's all her choice.

If it wasn't her choice, she would be having a rhona dhona meltdown. Instead she understands that this is a negotiation and terms she walked into. She could have easily negotiated differently and said 'no' -- negotiations fail all the time if two parties cannot come to an amicable agreement. In order for a negotiation to succeed, both sides have to profit something while they also lose something. That is why it is called negotiation and not a win-win.

She might be mad and annoyed but it is misdirected anger. It is not Aryan who insisted on these rituals -- it is Aditya. She could have told Aditya that it isn't his place to question their marriage and it is none of his business. She could have told him that just because he made her watch him get married to Malini a few times does not mean he gets to return the favour. It frankly was not his call. But she just sat there and watch gobsmacked. Lets say it was shock but she could have still turned it around.

She could have spoken to the Tripathi family who are 'her loved ones' (eye roll) that she does not want a big showy wedding ritual because this is her second marriage -- that would have been a great burn. Many people I know who got married a second time chose not to have traditional rituals and just went for court marriage. They just didn't want the hoopla. So it is quite common to not have a big second shaadi. As a working woman, she could have used that argument.

She could have spoken the truth to Narmada and Arpita who both immediately asked if this happened with her consent. She made that choice to protect Aryan as well as Narmada and Arpita. Does Aryan need her protection? No. Are Narmada and Arpita some weaklings who will breakdown to discover that Aryan pushed her? No, they know who he is and how he has become who he is at the moment. They want better for him and will have no problem scolding him and putting him in his place. This isn't a family where they are blind to each other's faults or the reality of the world. They have each other's back but they also understand each other very well.

For someone who speaks so much bak bak, she could have opened her mouth at any point and played this arc plenty of different ways. She is not without choice. Thats why she is not crying in the rain. Instead, she is upset that she might have lost a friendship -- that is the heart of what is bothering her. Isn't that telling of how she feels about Aryan?

The way they can't decide the path they want Imlie's character to take is seriously grating on my nerves too. It's like she is being totally ruled by her emotions and can't stabilise her feelings enough to start thinking for a change.

Waiting for the day she finally starts understanding what's happening instead of just watching it happen.

Also, the thing about Aryan, is that he has just turned so extreme in his way of getting her to agree with him.

We've had a hard-ass mentor and a trainer all this time, one who showed her the truth and waited for her to take action, that we can't reconcile with this version of Aryan who is taking action too, for showing her the truth.

The way he is now, I actually kind of blame Imlie for it. Had she seen sense and realised that she could trust him, we wouldn't be at this stalemate.

Today the narrative clearly touched her confusion.. hopefully they build up on it

Agreed 💯

She's choosing to stay that's all there is.

But her feelings are a different matter. She's such a confused soul right now. Yes we got a glimpse today of her changing emotions but her portrayal so far this track is extremely annoying. She's acting really bitter towards Aryan and playing a victim.

Even considering her attachment to him as a friend, she was really insensitive towards his pain. She's now protective of Narmada and Arpi because they gave her love. But was Aryan's care less? So how come he didn't get any benefit of doubt?

If only we get to see a clear stance and more of her feelings other than self pity.

It is not suprising that she is confused because she has no time to really process what has happened. It is okay for her to be still immature -- she is just 19. 😂

The changes in the relationship dynamic have been too quick. She did not go through a phase where she was aware of Aryan as a man. Instead, he became her rock and her support. So she is upset at the idea of losing him. That she is angry at him also shows how close to him. She is fighting with him as an equal. They are much more closer in age and so the dynamics of how they fight is very different. She is not pleading or begging him. Instead, the goat and the donkey are butting heads. I haven't seen today's episode yet but we should probably be more patient. She is rejecting him because a part of her is upset that he broke their friendship (from her perspective). She is reacting out of hurt.

So sharing the pics from the engagement where they are holding hands. The creatives showed it twice in slow focus -- would anyone tell that she was unwilling when she is holding his hands so tightly back?

It won't be clear cut at all for a while but instead, it is going to be more and more confusing for her till she realizes how strong her feelings for Aryan run. But yes, she is exercising her choice even if she doesn't realize it.
