Any kind of factor other than love is coercion. I would still be okay with a arranged compromise marriage. But yet again Imlie has to be a martyr which I don't want. Aryan was supposed to be a foil to Imlie's first relationship, this is like a massive push back. The trust, admiration, friendship all will go for a toss.

After the marriage then what. Aryan will stop hurting Aditya? Imlie will stop Aryan?

I know! Right? This is all I can say at this point....WTF knows what goes on in their heads, at least after 4 days, I feel ittusa better about the weather crap, that the point is to show Imlie how sensationalizing something trivial can destroy a family. I wish my thinking was that deep...

I don't know what Aryan's room looks like really, but if he has one of those window sills with a couch on it, I want Imlie to sleep on it the first night, and Aryan comes home late from the office (because of course he goes to do work after the wedding) and sees her sleeping there, without a blanket because she's dumb as hell and she's still wearing her shaadi ka lehenga, so Aryan carries her to the bed and puts her under the blanket.

He contemplates sleeping on the sofa downstairs, or even in the windowsill nook, but he's so exhausted he just falls asleep on the bed.

The next morning he wakes up to Imlie on his side of the bed, curled up next to him, her hand on his chest, using his now asleep and hurting arm as a pillow. But instead of waking her up or even moving, he just watches her sleep. The second it looks like she's going to wake up, he closes his eyes and pretends to be asleep.

She wakes up and is shocked, but moves carefully away so she doesn't wake him up.

For the rest of the day they don't acknowledge it at all.

And then that night, Aryan is at work late and texts Imlie, "Sleep on the bed or I'll just carry you to it anyway. Jungli."

Imlie decides to sleep in the nook again, because there's no way Aryan's coming home this late from the office anyway (she only decides to fall asleep at 11:30PM and usually by this late she's noticed that Aryan just spends the night in the office and comes back for breakfast).

Aryan obviously does come home, and he carries her again.

This keeps happening for like three or four nights. Imlie keeps wanting to bring it up and to tell him to 1) stop carrying her to the bed 2) and more importantly to stop staying so late at the office because he needs to eat dinner with the family or he'll forget to eat.

Finally, like on the seventh night, Aryan's home early enough that after dinner the two of them are walking up to their room, and Aryan, without looking at Imlie, climbs into the bed and says, "If you sleep in the nook I'll never eat dinner at home again. In fact, I'll also stop eating breakfast in the mornings."

i'm weird, but this is adorable to me.

Yaar I have so much to say but my post will be flagged.
if that was even on the books they will change the story to make it arylie end game. I remember a very old Indian drama where the changed the hero because the chemistry between the antihero and the heroine was so awesome. Don’t remember the drama name but I think the hero’s name was milind (I think) and had an unkempt beard and all.

Yaar I am Just in awe of how they have crafted the aryan character. Somebody else it here as well don’t remember who it was but the fact that he didn’t give into emotional blackmail from Imlie and stood his ground. Teaching her that it is her life her actions and the consequences are also hers and also to value herself above her. Not give up her agency or decision making right to anyone, not even him. I mean the man is frustrated because she doesn’t understand her value and worth.
Do these kind of men exist in real life. I have seen bits and pieces of it but a compete package. I haven’t.

That’s what’s so attractive about this character.

Compete package. Attitude with a heart of gold. Don’t take shit from anyone but from people who matter. So focused that nothing can get in his way. Smart, kind and unpretentious.
