Pooja, yeah, could have posted the AKT discussion in another thread..do teerein & all..mulled over it & decided against it. I could either have a Tower of Babel like situation in another thread or just risk sounding like a blabbering idiot here. Chose the latter for peace of mind 😂
"Journalism= logical thinking minus tunnel vision". Now this is my grouse with many of the arguments. It's just like saying "A doc must be humane/ A police officer must be just". Unfortunately, in many ways, a person's profession is just that..have no/ minimal influence whatsoever on his personality/ thought process. Rather the onus is on him as a being ..not a journalist..but a person who swears by (boasts) his principle of fairness to dig deep into the matter.
For fairness sake, I am just gonna stick with what I saw for myself (& judged). Adi was never like this pehle se hi...it was just to accommodate ASR/ Adi was always like this..that doesn't matter. The fact is makers gave life to the character, GM quit, FK was introduced.. makers continuing with the writing.. take it or leave it. Coming back, giving him the benefit of doubt..Adi wanted to be fair to Malini hence chose not to completely believe Imlie. Imlie felt it was better talking to the wall and chose to walk away. Till there, I have no qualms (difference in opinions..hence contrasting actions from characters). But here is where it starts gets rocky. Now, Adi also has the same complaint that Imlie didn't try to understand him . Aryan enters. Suddenly , Adi thoughts went on overdrive. How was he fair to Imlie when he assumed something was happening between Arylie? Arre..even with proofs, you chose not to believe her when it came to Malini. So who are you to ask her to explain her rishta (with any Tom, Dick & Harry)? And then you get angry at her..for siding with ASR?? Hypocrisy much. Arrey..even when she found you naked in bed, she believed in you..and then you see her fully clothed, not in bed, not in ASR's arms ..and you are quick to form an opinion. I literally don't care if 'pehle wale Adi' would have done that or not ..at thar moment, that character did that..and he is being called out for that. Were you that insecure that you couldn't tolerate another assertive masculine figure? Wait..didn't you complain that Imlie sounded insecure? Ab kya hua...And for what reason, did you announce shaadi again with Malini? If marrying her & taking responsibility for the child was always on the cards, so what's it you if Imlie sleeps/ marries someone else? Uski marzi!!
If we talk about hypocrisy.. ha! Imlie ain't so innocent too. Not as rude as AKT, but impulsive, quick to judge and act as if her tareeka is always right. She is too straightforward for her own good. Why is her marriage a blessing from the heavens...and Malini's not? Cuz of pyaar? I mean..what girl..the man was supposedly in pyaar with Malini for 7 freaking years. So will you tolerate your lover falling out of love with you and declaring that he has chosen someone else? No..so why do you expect that from Malini!
Both Imlie and AKT have poor analytical skills. AKT had a better life and was more sheltered. Hence, we are more inclined to forgive Imlie. Also, unlike AKT, Imlie doesn't throw anyone under the bus so quickly .
This has been a burning question. I have seen this brought up many times before. Blue, why do you say Adi infantalizes the gareeb man? Was something explicitly shown to point to this trait?
