Late review because I was in no rush to catch this episode. More Tripathi drama to come so I think it was a good decision. Imlie has left everything behind to fight with Malini at Malini's in-laws' these days because she has installed herself as the beti of the house.
1. I was wrong about Imlie's mom! She does want her daughter to use the income to pay off the loans of her ex-in-laws who kept her as naukrani. Wah! What values! Not relatives, bahu of the house sent Sattyakam to jail on false charges, ex-husband/now Jijani-squared went back and forth between her gudia and Malini, and Amma wants Imlie to pay their installments.
2. Imlie keeps 5,000 for her everyday needs from her monthly salary and gives back 40,000 to Aryan. So she makes about 15,000 more than the average journalist in New Delhi - all while being a college dropout and new intern to hire. Very interesting.
3. She shows off to Aryan that she will pay off the full amount with a big voice. BUT, she forgets to pay her rent! Now the girl owes him room and board, but has decided she doesn't have to pay him that. Why? I know writers forgot, but the khuddar show-off that Imlie is to Aryan, the man who helped her, why is she living on Aryan for free?
4. Imlie is so "connected" that Rupi believes Imlie will telepathically find herself there to aid them at the hospital. Of course, Imlie does nothing but break into the hospital, it is again Aryan who pays the bills through insurance. Malini is right though, why does this stupid family think Imlie will save the day when she is not a doctor, nurse, or insurance provider. Imlie is using Aryan these days as her insurance provider to pay off all the expenses of this lalchi family. Why is Imlie taking advantage of Aryan like this? What gave her the right to push in her "ma" into a private hospital with no thought? You think they would just let in a village girl who can give bhashans into a hospital just like that if Aryan didn't back her up?
5. Aditya's mom is dying and he still can't bring any expressions to his face. He veers between no expression and making his eyes big. How did we land here from the subtle master that was Gash? Btw GM has been setting Insta on fire lately, you noticed?
6. Aparna managed to be tolerable when she has an oxygen mask on. It looks like she's acting when her face is covered with the mask. And the scene with Bhaisaab was different and touching. But Aparna doesn't ask about Bhaisaab's emergency because writers are still making up that story. Most likely the illegal son he has - which was a plotpoint they considered once.
7. Is Pankajji gone? Is this the first Tripathi cut? Or is he on break? He's the only Tripathi with half a brain. You could have cut any one of them before him.
8. Aryan looks really cute saying "Babusaheb."
9. Why is Imlie fighting with Malini and setting the scene for a week? If she didn't manage to expose Malini before, what is the point now? Why is Imlie in Malini's in-laws' house getting involved in drama that has nothing to do with her? Imlie is the one who cannot respect space or boundaries of a marriage that has happened again! Malini has a point about Imlie keeping her distance. First marriage, Imlie stayed as naukrani. Second wedding, Imlie is staying as beti. I have never seen a character more cheap about staying on with her "ex-husband" at all costs. This is no longer love, it's sickening obsession.
10. A little math for the CVs here. If Imlie pays 40,000 a month for a 5 crore bill without interest (seven zeros), she will have to make 1,250 months' worth of payments. That will take the girl 104 years on her feature writer salary given that she has already attained her dream of being a journalist with her college drop out credentials. So my question is, are we planning for Imlie to be 124 years by the time she dies? Or is her plan to win the lottery? Because her "drops" are not about to fill the ocean that is the payment Aryan made. Also, how did the Tripathis afford this house on their only one college graduate son's salary? Doesn't look like the older Trips did anything more lucrative. Some tell me if my math is wrong or if the writers have lost their minds...
50000000/40000 = 1250 individual payments
1250/12 = 104.1 years
So it will take Imlie 104 years so pay off this loan without interest, no?
