POP QUIZ: What does squishing a girl's arm mean in 4Lions' world?

1. Anger

2. Lack of soft toys as a kid

3. Passion

Everyone is at an uproar about this and rightly. First thing they do once Aryan has Imlie to himself (with Aditya gone), is to squish her arm. On ITV, this is the only permissible skin that the guy can touch and that is no excuse. So give me some creative reasons for this squeezing the life out of a girl's arm thing. It happened to Geet, to Khushi, to Zoya, etc, etc. Are you telling me that in ten years there was no other gesture the CVs could think of? Can you think of other ways to get the message across?

How about squishing the female leads nose. It would be cute but there is slight risk of suffocation and possibly death depending on the male leads anger. 🤣

It means nothing has changed over the last 10 years of story telling 😆

Oh did I say story telling? I meant romance... 🤪

Eta: also means they can't help themselves normalising abuse in the name of romance how much ever they try to appear progressive... Always fall back. Always.

Definitely should not be supported but this is how ITV is working 😥 I'm not sure if CV's would even think of it.😓

Anger/passion/sexual tension/frustration/ etcetra etcetera...

I think they were trying to recreate the car crash promo scene where he does the same thing which was well received by the audience. One could argue that his anger maybe justified if his expensive car was crashed intentionally by imlie (although physical violence is definitely a big no-no even then) . However in this case his anger seemed misplaced - there was no reason whatsoever to get riled up. She'd only asked where they were going?!

I am also not understanding why Imlie is not telling anything firmly to Aryan. I understand Adi has also done before. Though it is wrong, he was atleast her husband so she kept mum. But with Aryan why is she keeping mum.

thats my issue as well.. otherwise she is all fierce and firm in front of him but she just cries to tears and looks at his hold helplessly... like how come both characters can be out of their character all at once in one single moment just to define it as Chemistry/passion.... it was such a misplaced and incorrectly handled scene for me.

i had hope the way he was coming towards her softly that he would say sorry.. but na he hold her hand softly as if thats enough to cover what he had done earlier.

Someone's wrong act can't be justified by another persons wrong act

And as u pointed out imlie not calling this out is the most disturbing part.

Would have been interesting to see Aryan's reaction on being called out or even slapped for it! She should have said - " ab hisab barabar". Based on his characterization up until now and his insight regarding the said act, he would most likely have taken it on the chin.
