I started to think, wait, what is this 😬 Why so convinced Imlie's growing confidence is her downfall? This is a first for me to read. It's bizarre.

I don't know how can it be her downfall?? Isse jyaada kya downfall ho sakta hai bhai- becoming a servant, living with the 2nd wife, seeing your husband and his divorced ex-wife sleeping together, and in spite of all this nonsense, still staying with that husband, who holds you accountable for a gunshot, which she did not shoot. Bhai if this isn't a downfall, then I don't know what is.

Kya hai?? Aryan is using her, ok. What was happening till now? Aditya was using her as a comfort zone to continuously comply with his stupid decisions, and she being the emotional fool, accepted everything and made more stupid decisions, Malini abused her trust, Tripathis insulted her love and Chaturvedis insulted her existence. Sab ne sab kuch kiya na. Aryan bhi kar raha hoga use usko. Atleast usko abuses aur accuses se chutkara milega. And when the time will come, if Imlie is even a little sensible, she will understand his reasons and maybe help him to move on from this bitterness. So chill and enjoy.

Regarding promotions - you are so right.

Sometimes the people who ask how high are better because they'll fall in line with the rules & protocols of a workplace and they're easier to mold into the role they have. Recognizing one is a part of a system means they have to conform in some sense but they do not necessarily have to put their identity to the side. Imlie is a prime example of someone who deserves upward mobility because disregarding her intellect, she's able to complete her job and make it her own. She will not show preference or dismiss work and has the talent to make any topic her own. Her unique voice always shines through. Employees, like Aditya, while "brilliant" are more like the building blocks of a company. They will stick to their lane and maintain it. They are happy with the control they have and are the perfectionist of their corner. Why push them for something different and leave the potential for destruction in the realm they maintained?

I don't know if that makes sense but I guess I see Adi as someone who hasn't shown impetus for upward mobility but instead he covets perfection in his expertise.

On the personal front, In my more basic jobs before entering medicine ... I have worked under people of lower intellect and imagination compared to myself. Why are those people there? They know how to play the game. They will be a "yes" man. They will ensure the rules and protocols are followed so that the company isn't damaged. I wasn't there because I was new, naive, and a liability. I also honestly (obviously) do not want to be in corporate retail.

Before pursuing my medical studies, I worked in a hospital. Who was the manager? Not only someone competent but someone who knew how to solve situations. Who knew how to get the work done and also facilitate compromise between all the personalities. The floor managers were not the more veteran nurses (they helped provide invaluable insight), they were not the internal medical grads (who couldn't licensed or placement in the USA for various reasons) bc while power obv was desired by them -- they couldn't be the king of the castle. They'd have to bend down to management.

Even today, and this is my ramble, after weeks of working with the same surgeon ... I had a scrub nurse, helping a trainee maintain a sterile field, tell me (amongst all the minor random things) how to hold freakin scissors to cut the suture 🤣 the surgeon knew she was asserting herself bc I am the fledging bird in the OR but I just said "thank you, I appreciate it!" even though I knew this was probably my 238345780956 cutting a stitch and no one had corrected me since the first day I received instruction. The surgeon smiled bc he knew while I didn't take it lying down, I was mature enough to take whatever suggestion in technique she had and just move on. I don't think I would be able to enter an OR if I pulled a hissy fit like Aditya.

On a side note, I told myself "If I am going to tell her that her directions and indications are not bothering me && I'll only internalize what matters - how to get better at my craft ... then I can not ruminate about the experience." Maturity sometimes means, 95% of the time, not taking the details personally

The VMs are amazing ...

I became further hooked & felt compelled to participate in the chats when Ritz and August shared VMs from when Aryan first entered Imlie 😆☺️

Ps: I love how large (& oddly safe/supportive) his hands look next to Imlie

Exactly my thoughts. That logic is just weird. But then again trying to logic the illogical never works.

Me too! The visuals are just something else. That coupled with the way they are writing, I mean why not right? 🤩

Yeah, fully agreed. Everything you just said! All I have to say is, man am I grateful for my work experiences. It taught me so so much about handling people. Nothing like dealing with those situations to make you realize what kind of work environment you want to create eventually. My mom always says "kill with kindness", and the older I get the more I believe it. Jealousy isn't a good thing either. Someone else getting promoted or shining takes nothing away from you. Which is why Aditya's comments are yuck. Just be happy for Imlie guy. What's the point of criticizing her and then telling your family she deserved her promotion? He just likes being contrary I think.

@ the bold - 💯 So true right? It's best to take the feedback however best works for your development and your work and keep going.

I'm not slamming Aditya's style. It's just that for people like him promotions will come with experience not necessarily with new innovative ways of thinking. Like you said he's a perfectionist. Imlie is more a strategist I feel. ps - thanks for sharing your experiences. Great post!

@bold: 🤗 Most definitely, sister! I wouldn't give up those experiences ... with retrospect & experience, now I say: I wish I reacted better by either speaking up, not crying, or moving on and not having those moments dull my day 😆But it's a catch 22, can't have this perspective without having gotten burnt 😆

Oh adi adi, quite contrary. Granted, everyone clapping at every article Imlie has been writing is extra (unless this reception always occurs for a first-page story), he obviously didn't read it. Forget about appreciating her efforts, he didn't have a basis on which to judge Imlie's piece 🤣🤓

I'm glad you mentioned your thoughts on the concept of promotion! I think other, more excited threads, might not be able to view Adi with clarity or accept with humility that he is what he is. He is an employee, a comfortable one at that.

I think you mentioned something about being in law and having experience as a paralegal? That's amazing! How did you feel when Adi erased the data proving Malini is super sleazy and ruining KC's sparkling record? 😆

Oh so true, hindsight is everything. But I guess we can only learn the hard way with some things.

On Aditya's judgement - true again. I mean, he didn't even read it this time. Or I assume he hadn't when he criticized her. Maybe he did during the day and that's why he sang a different tune at home.

I did mention my work experience yeah, and then took it out. I am sooo happy I wasn't watching during the erasing the evidence piece 😂 . Aditya shouldn't even need evidence. He should believe his wife.

One of my favourite tracks of all time was in Kahiin to Hoga, Kashish was framing her husband Sujal and he would sign any papers she put in front of him, with full knowledge that she was setting him up. It was a "misunderstanding" track. Did you see it? One of the most romantic dramas I have ever seen. Also man did they have heat. Aamna Sharif and Rajeev Khandelwal like invented heat or something 😂 In this scene, which I remember to this day, she was like don't you want to read the contract and he said, you're my wife I don't need to read anything. She actually felt guilty. Slowly she fell in love with him again even though she still thought he was guilty. Now that's love.

I feel like I’ve heard of this serial but maybe it was on a channel different from zee and star? I think I only watched Kkusum, kutumb, khotey sikkey, Dekha Ek khwaab & ek duje ke vaaste on Sony.
But now I’m motivated to find VMs on this couple 🤣🥰 gotta fulfill my singledom desire for romance 🤣

edit: I feel like there’s a famous written story about a spouse willingly allowing themselves to be frauded/deceived by their significant other. Can’t remember from where
