It all always comes down to appearances. How could the supposedly modern professor be shown like this, horrible writing, writer’s fault they are ruining her blah blah as if the woman wasn’t obsessed with him shuru ke episodes se not passing her students in celebration of the guy coming back from a trip he goes on every other day and crying over burnt kheer for him. The car fight, the pd track reaction woh sab ka kya? How about her blaming seedha imlie after finding the truth but at discovering it was mostly adi’s fault forgiving him in seconds lol. People claim as if the sweet part of her personality is all she could be, she was never in a conflict then when a character is in a conflict they show more of their character than any other situation and she has shown exactly how empty she is.

But nope, even though she has a background of her cultural beliefs and is wanting to stay with a guy who actually wants to be with her isn’t forcing herself on someone, imlie is way more regressive and horrible because of her trp milking pati jaaps those too are far in between lol why are the times she gives it back to him not counted? Why is her education disregarded and her accent nitpicked ? Because she believed in her marriage ? What about Malini then ? Who is also engaging in a forced event and all for someone who doesn’t even want her and ‘betrayed’ her too ? Why ? If they so hate regressive woman Malini has time again shown, without any cultural beliefs as restraints too, how regressive she is. Then why nothing about that? Why is that writers’ fault but imlie isn’t? Because it all comes down to appearances again , malini’s character is the writer’s fault because she is ‘modern’ , imlie’s character is definitely not writer’s fault and totally her own fault because she is a village girl. At the end of the day, no matter what people claim, the intense hatred for imlie and free passes for Malini all comes down to false moral superiority and class consciousness in one way or another 🤷🏽‍♀️

+1.....the classism peeks through no matter how much people try to coat it in faux "feminism" arguments. Jaise Malini ko pyar nahin samajh aata, kuch logon ko feminism nahin samajh aata but essays likhne phir bhi aana hai.....khokhle log, khokhli baatein😆.

Back then, there were still folks trying to give her sympathy for her first suicide attempt while some of us were calling it out for the performance/charade that it actually was....it was disgusting back then also that she casually scapegoated Adi for being the reason for her suicide while claiming she was doing it so he could live his "HEA with Imlie".....humne toh tab bhi bola tha ki she is just doing drama....but lol some folks wanted to give her the benefit of doubt over her supposed "trauma" of not knowing the truth yet.

That's another hilarious thing till date...she did all this suicide naatak even before knowing the full truth about Adi-Imlie😕......born naatak company she is and log ise "modern, independent woman" bolte hain....LOL

That suicide was just a facade and we called it the moment she decided to do fancy dress and take forever to write a sermon blaming the guy while still being oh no am so good..who actually does put a fancy dress for suicide 🤷‍♀️ uspe sympathize karte. Nobody and I repeat NOBODY who is actually suicidal or is in that confused state if mind has itna sanity ya hosh at that very moment moment think of writing a well verbed sermon and itna manipulative bullshit and esp not to put a fancy dress show..it is the weak lamhe not so hi samjhi saaazish..but oh well

I was one of those people trying to give her the benefit of the doubt 😆

But thinking back on it, there’s one more thing that shows it for being the elaborate set up that it was and nothing more, along with the get up, she chose the day carefully too. That article she read of aditya praising imlie was what finally tipped her over, and she chose the day imlie was going to receive her prize too, thus leaving behind a scarred imlie forever, who god knows if ever would have been able to give that same focus to her studies again. I mean even this attempt had drained the bacha kucha life out of her after the sindoor kand and she further drowned in guilt (which also people conveniently forget while wanting ‘comeuppance’ for imlie 😆)
