When his father explained to him that when you do all the rituals of marriage, it creates a sense of responsibility towards the other as you are bonded by things like the sacred fire, MS & sindoor. It makes you connected with the other for life. That entire time he flashed back to his marriage with Imlie. Though forced, he chose to think it to be illegal because it helped him stick to his commitment to Malini.

But his sense of responsibility towards Imlie at every step, till his marriage with Malini and even after shows that subconsciously he felt that it was real enough to want to protect her and ensure she was safe. That was why he was uneasy during his wedding day when he could not spot her, left his mandap to find her when she went missing, beat up the guy that was misbehaving with her and was even willing to go and tell the truth to Malini so that they could deal with the aftermath.

So he wanted to believe that the marriage was illegal, to justify not doing anything to change the status quo with Imlie and be able to protect her and nibhao his zimmedari to both Imlie & Malini, without feeling that he was cheating either of them.

Bold1: Yes... N than those kismat ke ishare.. spilling of haldi, rolling of ring, imli wali mehendi...

BOLD2: 💯..This...

Thank a ton, Aps❤️

Love everyone pov here 🤗.

I just wanted to add that Adi kept denying the validity of the marriage, the existence of a relationship…but I always found that so weird especially after that episode where he attempts to tell Malini the truth. There he said something like « rishta hai » between him and Imlie…so I was like ok he does think that somehow the marriage was valid. But after that he kept saying « rishta nahin hain » « nakli rishta » then after 2nd PD trip moved to « rishta nahin nibha sakte »…(and now this rishta is his only truth )

So we can actually see how he went from somehow believing in those rituals (albeit forced on him) , to denial, to full acceptance.

Yes while telling truth he explained gunpoint wedding happened and said rishtha hai… I think to imlie he always said rishta is fake or jhoot… this also last till sometime only … last such conversation was on sindhoor drama by AC. There after there was no direct altercation between them.. And at some point he started pointing it as “sach”(truth) like in mimicry episode … he at that point said the same thing like if our truth comes out any other means it will hurt family.

Even before fully realising his love he comes in term with that what happened is truth …

Could be true ? Deep down he had accepted imli as wife ....

Don't agree he is honest and truthful person that's he couldn't dishonour his commitment with Malini and family .

I feel he was selfish that's the reason he couldn't listen to his inner voice or inner consciousness. For him imli was just an obstacle in his relationship with Malini so he wanted to send her away. The day he got what he desired he was happy then he started being civil in behaviour or should I say started behaving nicely with her .

Similarly today his object of desire is imli and Malini whom he knows from years can't understand she is lying because she is just an obstacle in his union with imli.

Exactly. He tried his best to keep the denial going on Imlie’s behalf too 😆….ki hum dono ko hi is bure sapne ko bhool jaana chahiye to go back to our lives as they were before.

In his mind, he was trying to justify it as the right thing for both of them to go back to their lives and pretend that such a life changing thing didn’t happen with them. Imlie for all her naïveté otherwise accepted that you can’t forget a marriage that happened with full rituals. Adi knew this deep down too but couldn’t face reality consciously.

Ultimately marriage is a more life shifting truth than any relationship no matter how long it was. And AM ke case mein toh actually deep love tha bhi nahin….which is why the truth of Adi’s marriage to Imlie settled into his subconsciousness instantly too. Given his personality, if he really loved Malini, he would have fought the whole world for her like he’s doing for Imlie right now. But he never did 🤷‍♀️…..because his marriage to Imlie was always a bigger truth than anything with Malini…..Obligation wala rishta can never survive in the face of a love so deep….the marriage was the bridge to that love but the love was always going to find its way.

Exactly..

Idk if it has been discussed already or no sorry a bit behind in catching up but if I am repeating myself then sorry

The fact that it was just a cover up for him..it was like mujhe pepsi nahi coke chahiye..just caz pepsi is available..being ziddi and just akda hua when deep down you know ke peeni toh yahi padegi aur koi choice hai nahi.. sorry weird example 😆 but that was malini was his side his I want the thing that is not mine and having that would mean I wouldn't have to have the one that is already mine ..yeh alag baat hai ke same cheez dobara rakhne se bhi eventually toh first thing tak hi aana padta hai..if it makes sense imlie has been his first no matter kitne aur replacements rebounds he could have khade kar diye hote ultimate toh imlie hi thi and rehni thi..his mind knew that's it hence the trauma was too much ke kaise uske saath yeh ho gaya.. he knew ke ab it will never be same no matter what .. which is why his anger multiplied at imlie ke you knew my truth my relationship now it will never be the same and that my dreams has been crushed.. little awareness he had ke woh uske kabhi thay hi nahi real wishes ya sapne..then he was shattered caz of the incident and how it happened but more it was easier to blame her ..there was no doubt though ke biwi toh imlie hi hai forget PD even in delhin on very first day he was acknowledging her biwi to that Nani ka spy in public bas ghar walon ko nahi bata paaana tha.

Nice post👍

here is what I think,

I think the marriage did exist for him from the moment it happened. Him being the firm advocate of ‘sach’ he is, first by passion and then in turn by profession Aaditya could never bring himself to outright deny the sach that he got married to Imlie. In all those moments immediately after the marriage he chooses to remain silent whenever situation demanded him to acknowledge the marriage. In front of others he chose to either not say anything or just spoke around the fact, whether Mithi telling him to look after her daughter or the hotel staff calling Imlie bhabhiji, at hotel while talking to M on phone and at the door of T house. In front of Imlie he questioned her actions like why you came or her dulhan attire, or the rishta doesn’t exist (which at that point definitely did not exist cause they barely new each other so no question of any kind of rishta let alone being a couple). But in front of Imlie too he never denied the marriage has happened. At hostel too he tries to put aside what happened by wrapping under bhagi hui ladki but at the same time ensures Imlie that education will continue so he didn’t avoid the responsibility and when that PD guy tried to hurt Imlie without a second thought Aadi called her biwi, so the marriage was very well registered in his conscience. It existed and he never denied.

All the attributions of forced or illegal or baseless or invalid etc were attempt to pacify his shattered aatmasamman and also to find a way out of situation.

So I don’t think it’s was valid per say for him from beginning but it was very much a reality that he never denied. And that takes a lot of courage and character to face fact up front irrespective of it’s suitability to your situations.

This. Exactly. Sach ko na maanne se it doesn’t stop being sach. That was the crux of Adi’s denial waali journey. He kept denying both the truth and validity of his marriage to Imlie but his actions contradicted his words at every point. Him calling Imlie his wife in front of that guy at the NGO and fiercely defending her is a scene we’ve discussed many times before. Maine pehle bhi kaha tha he didn’t need to claim Imlie as his wife in order to protect her there. But he still did it. Cuz the marriage was real to him from the get go. Claims of it being invalid, illegal were all semantics cuz he never really filed a case regarding that. So it’s obvious he accepted its validity in his sub-conscience….if he didn’t consider it valid, he wouldn’t have those moments of doubt before marrying Malini. If something is true, it’s obviously valid 🤷‍♀️….he just kept calling it invalid to justify his decision to still marry Malini out of obligation and not have to face the truth that he was already bound to Imlie.

It may sound funny but sometimes I feel like chicken and egg situation for Imlie and Malini in Adi’s life😂😂🤣🤣

Whatever May be the outcome, Imlie is definitely his first love and is the love of his life…
