I must give credit to the makers, that the way this week has panned out, although genre has been changed, they seem to have really taken online feedback onboard and at the end the week, quite frankly, I have no complaints.

I agree... there are many loopholes and continuity glitches in the story but at least the most glaring mistake of all - murder of ML and FL - has been handled.

1. Rehman deal killed
The last few weeks had been a total train wreck for the makers. The deal was the last loose string which they cut early in the week. Sure, it was a little strange and u r left to wonder why didn't Sahir go bankrupt or what about the video, but it had become a mess and had to end. Tick.
I am still hoping that they address it. I can't understand how they can conveniently brush it all under the rug!
2. Arzoo becoming a business woman killed
This was another train wreck waiting to happen. I'm glad they took action and even after all the hype in the news, plus the awful montage, it seems, very late in the day, they changed direction. Better late than never. Tick.
Thank you God! I want her to be angry and hurt and pissed off with Sahir... but the vengeful business woman eeeyucckkk!
2. Arzoo characterisation
This week, pretty much every issue I had with Arzoo was addressed. The childish behaviour was gone and we got a week full of mature self talks. Arzoo is shown thinking, observing, reflecting on Sahir, his behaviour, the situation. We, the audience can FINALLY connect to her!!! Furthermore, we got proper conversation between the two. She opens up and tells him about the attack on her. She then follows up with concern for him and he also reciprocates. Hallelujah!
Finally, once she finds out about Zeenat being in a 7 year coma, she is shown as being empathetic enough to start wondering about his pain and wondering what else he is keeping within him. And then when Arzoo stopped his self mutilation? I tell you, I was taken aback. Watching Arzoo this week was like every single piece of feedback on this forum was playing out in front on me. Truly amazing. Thank you CVs.
It was refreshing to watch Arzoo these last few epis... the dialogue where she says "I want to hate him, but..." it shows her grappling with the reality of being in love with a man who hurt her. It is never as clear cut in terms of emotions as they were making her out to be... the love doesn't just disappear puufff...
3. Zaki
Zaki was back and I was happy to see him. Zaki was actually great but as with Arzoo, they ruined his characterisation during the love triangle debacle. His scene with Arzoo was spot on. He was awkward but has accepted the situation and didn't show any signs of love. He was always a good friend to Arzoo and I have no issues with them reverting back to that as long as that's what they remain. Of course he might be in revenge mode, but we will see what happens with that!
I am not sure if Zaki is positive anymore... of course the masked man could always be a woman... the comatose woman to be more exact. But I don't know.
Truth be told ... I don't care. 😆. I had made my mind up last to last week to just sit back and enjoy. It is a TV serial... a Hindi TV soap at that... so I am not going to expect life changing truths to be taught. Rather as long as I am entertained and I get to see Saaz moments and the story progressing in a reasonable enough manner... I am going to be ok.

Doesn't mean that I won't crib occasionally but less so than before 😆

4. Sahir
Sahir has luckily always been Sahir but it has been great to see a concerned, protective Sahir. He was very open about his loyalty, care, concern towards Arzoo this week and we got to see some fabulously executed SaAz scenes full of chemistry and brilliant dialogues. The attention expression was also excellent.
He also was shown trusting Arzoo's claims on Zeenat. Even today, although he denied believing her in front of Zeenat, he has been shown thinking all week on what the real deal is. And even when Sahir said he didn't believe Arzoo and accused her of childishness, Arzoo took it on the chin and rather than throwing her toys out of the pram, she promised to get Sahirs trust in this.
Agree. 😊 It is nice to see both of them slowly progressing to the next stage of their relationship. It is no longer just about attraction or approval or possession or romance and wooing but about going the extra mile to understand each other. LOVE IT.

The other nice thing has been the playful retorts to Arzoo...ziddi under his breath today or the 'bhau khati hai' under his breath yesterday. He is relaxing with her.
I know! That ziddi was so adorable. Even Bhau khati hai... her reaction of sun liya was too cute. Absolute cutie-pies.

Also the dialogue when KA tries to kick Arzoo out - I think he was saying, we are both stubborn, we fight but we both belong together ( and saying room was just a metaphor) ...this guy has made his commitment and belief in this marriage loud and clear.
God I so agree. Sahir has always been portrayed as someone who takes his time to arrive at a decision but once that is done... it is a commitment to death. The way he clearly announced who stays and who goes... it left no doubt in anyone's mind as to what is happening in his heart and mind.

We see it again with the Nausheen/Sahir scene. I loved the line where he says something like, I'm not sure if I'll make her happy but I will always protect her. That was so sweet.
Esp taken in the light of the new spoiler regarding Alvira not being his mother... it adds another angle as to why Sahir is the way he is. He respects and loves Alvira but the freedom that one takes with one's mother is missing. Yesterday with Nausheen he took that freedom... haq hai mera. I hope these nuances are remembered and not lost.

Finally his feelings (or rather lack of) for Zeenat are made very very clear. He doesn't leave any room for Arzoo to have any misunderstanding on this subject.
Phangurl is thrilled

The change in plot
The key thing about this plot is that Arzoo is being targeted and Zeenat ( whoever her accomplices may be) is definitely the villain...a really evil villain. Anyone watching her will park their discomforts on Sahir having married twice and just focus on how Arzoo is going to convince everyone Zeenats not in a coma. Very honestly, I do not see Zeenat as Sahirs wife at all. And this is thanks to Sahirs indifference to her plus her portrayal so far. She's a nasty piece of work.
I know a lot of fans are upset with the polygamy bit. I live in the Middle East and this is a part of reality for many. I have begun to believe that as long as the parties involved are fine with it.. it is no one else's business. However if any one of them is getting hurt or this is being done against their will... then yes it is wrong and the law has to step in where needed. Anyway I digress...
In this story - neither Sahir, nor Arzoo and definitely not Zeenat, are ok with this set-up.
But this is the reality of his life. He married a woman who turned out to be wrong for him. He tried to avoid getting entangled with Arzoo but could not help getting pulled closer and closer to her... big time. At one point he loses all sense of right and wrong and this ends up with SaaZ nikaah. But I blame the CVs for the messy handling of the whole scenario and the shocking change in Sahir's characterisation - and there is nothing one can do about it. Creative mistakes already aired... one cannot delete and re-write
But overall he has been shown as someone who tried to avoid polygamy up until above mentioned mess. Arzoo too did not escape this confusion - the whole business deal from her end was very unlike her. But anyways... the nikaah happened.
And it doesn't bother me... in this particular story the polygamy track doesn't bother me... because the first wife is his first wife on paper only. I for one don't believe in the legality of any relationship unless it is bound by feelings too. And the only feeling Sahir has for Zeenat is hatred... which I am sure she deserves. Zeenat is no pativrata woman who has been wronged. She is the one who has caused damage and done wrong - what exactly it is we still don't know. I agree it has to be revealed soon though... the CVs should stop stretching our patience on this one. Sure continue with the thriller track and Zeenat's shenanigans, but please reveal what went wrong between Sahir and Zeenat.
Zeenat is not even remotely Sahir's wife except on paper. And therefore in my mind while legally it is polygamy, in my heart (like in Sahir's I think)... he only has one wife - Arzoo.

We see a new entry, ACP Rathod. I actually like him. He is shown as being a pretty smart cookie. His dialogues were actually making me laugh today (especially his salim-javed reference) and I liked his exchange with KA.
Finally, everyone's a suspect, from KA to Alvira to Zaki. It's a good suspense.
ACP Rathod with his bade bhaiya, bhabi and devar bit is growing on me purely cause he is not trying to line-marofy Arzoo 😆
The first episode of his was a bit too much... more so cause they tried to weaken Sahir in the process. But in the last two epis... they have balanced it out a bit. So yes ACP also comes across better for that.

In summary, the makers have weaved in Saaz's story progression very nicely within the thriller. My dad is thoroughly enjoying it and even my hubby watched the last 2 days. What this tells me is the thriller plot should attract a larger audience but if they continue moving the SaAz relationship along as they have done this week, they won't loose their core audience.

The CVs are on the right track. They must maintain it though...keep SaAz progressing, maintain the tempo on the thriller track and all will be well...it must be pretty tough for them to come up with the dialogues/screenplay in such little time. Happy to give them Monday off if it means we get better quality episodes!!! 👏
I love your weekly round ups VD. It kind of puts the whole thing in perspective 😊

Wonderful post VD, you have summed up beautifully for last 2 weeks Humsafars 👏👏
Seriously story was quiet ruined after CV changed the writers, spoiled the lead characters.. Now really happy that old humsafars is back due to original writers. That charm, spark, sizzling chemistry between SaAz, awesome dialouges, background score everything back with bang.

First of all deal is cancel, thats most happy part.. after deal only all story screwed up.. later they spolied Aarzoo's and Sahir's character too.. now Aarzoo is back. 😃shayar Sahir is back..😃
last 3+ weeks, we were in bad dream, feels like that dream is over.😃😃
Fridays episode was awesome.. sare gile shikave door ho gaye..😆

Hey Junoonian - thank you as always for your details response!

@Rehman Deal - I wouldn't be surprised if this crops up post thriller and then Sahir and Arzoo get back to the office and work on preventing bankruptcy! Only issue is this formula has been seen before and not sure how appealing it would be...lets see what they do...i really do want Arzoo to become a big designer just like she planned to be

@Arzoo Characterisation - YES! When she said, "I want to hate him, but he isn't letting me", i was thinking, THIS is what we needed pre-nikkah...not all the attitude and huffing and puffing we got. Anyway, better late than never!

@polygamy - i actually agree with you here...i am not too bothered about Polygamy. Sahir is well within his rights/law to marry again AND most importantly, Arzoo knew full well he was already married when she agreed. If he had hidden it and then married, it would have looked bad on Sahir's part. But he was upfront about it, hence in my book, it makes it ok. Sahir and Arzoo entered with both eyes open. And yes, in Sahirs heart, he has only one wife who is Arzoo. Zeenat, as he puts it, is an unfortunate reality which he has to accept.

@ACP Rathod - yes, on Tuesday when i saw his intro, i got so worried about the rest of the week! The intro was awful and the way he spoke to Sahir...i just thought "nahin!!!! This is the end for our lovely serial!"...however, Wednesday onwards, his lines were fine...he started coming across as smart and funny so totally fine with this new entry!

Bring on next week! All the spoilers look pretty exciting and lots of SaAz action is awaiting us! 😳

Hi - glad you liked the post! You can call me Vish. I am pretty sure the CVs are already reading all our posts (hello there CVs!)... the only issue i raised last week that they didn't address was the tikka...it disappeared but now i see its re-appearing next week!...they did fix Harshad's hair though, so at least that was a good sign! 😆
