To be honest Sahir is the most decent Gul Khan hero till date. I really think that 4 Lions is maturing in the way they depict their heroes.
Though Sahir typifies the dark and brooding AYM, it is to his credit that he didn't manhandle Aarzoo after all the spiel she spouted in the resignation letter. That was completely childish and nonsensical on her part, but I get it.😳 I for one found her impulsiveness very endearing. How many times have all of us secretly thought of nasty things that we would like to say to our detractors? We imagine giving them lengthy diatribes and triumphing by getting one up on them. That Aarzoo acted on this impulse is what makes her...Aarzoo, IMO😃
And believe me when I say this, she is much more sensible and ambitious than any of her predecessors. There seems to be a real fire in her to succeed, which I particularly like.😊 Even Sahir recognizes this, which is probably why he chose to retain her in spite of the considerable insult she mounted on him through her letter. Though he remained seemingly rational and businesslike about the whole thing- giving her a contract stipulating her to work exclusively for Saiyaara for 3 years(!) and then stopping her from thanking him- it was very clear that he is affected emotionally by her. His pausing to look over her huddled, miserable figure by the outhouse very clearly showed that.
And yesterday's episode showed a definite progression in their dynamic- Aarzoo acknowledged to Alvira that Sahir is a good man, and that his strict demeanor belies a kind heart. And I love how he has taken up the mantle of a mentor for her😳
As for Alvira- I found it fascinating that she could go to such lengths to have Aarzoo and Sahir take a trip together. Though I am strictly against mothers-in-law plotting and scheming against their bahus, for once I will let this slide. Anam and Kurti Apa can't be dealt with in a strait-laced way. They resort to all sorts of dirty tricks to get their way. So Alvira in return played another dirty trick to get her way. Both sides are being insidious and subtle with their game playing. Me likey:)
We really need more Arzoo-Zaki and Sahir-Zaki scenes, along with more SaAz scenes, of course😉 Zaki is like a whiff of fresh air in this show. He gives us a break from the godawful boring melodrama that is Aarzoo's family and the endless scheming of Anam and Kurti Apa. (Like Alvira though, because there is this air of mystery that surrounds her motives). And did you notice the appreciating glance that Zaki gave to Aarzoo when she was leaving? It seems that he is falling more and more for her! Sahir beta, jaldii! Warna chidiya ko koi aur uda le jayega!
Waiting eagerly for the Panchgani track to start tomorrow. The show has improved by leaps and bounds and is finally proceeding the way I envisioned it to. Lovin' it!
