frankly...i'm happy gul's take here in humsafars is not that of a traditional muslim family...but that of a modern one...who have adapted themselves with the ways of mumbai or their social circle...be it their clothes or way of speaking😊

frankly...its a very smart move..it helps masses connect more easily

well ye bhi sahi hai u don't go that deep to consider the meaning...but i feel aisa kuch karne se na karna better hai 🤔
Aadab is better 😕

For saying Assalam_U_Alaikum. you don't need to know pure urdu (Thats what I feel)
with due respect if you know how to pronounce it thn only say it 😊

I agree most Muslims don't use pure Urdu. Even I speak a mixture of Urdu-Hindi-English.

But.

Assalam-u-Alaikum.
It is an Arabic word meaning 'Peace be upon you' and it's a way Muslims greet each other.
It doesn't matter whether you are a Bengali/Malayali/Punjabi or what ever type of Muslim, you cannot bring your accent into the Arabic language and bend it in your own free will.
A little bit of deviation and the meaning goes all ulta phulta in Arabic.

Yet. It's a fictional drama. I try to ignore such things mostly. 😊
