OK...guys...here I am to make this one post...not planning to start daily takes or anything like that...but saw the first 2 episodes of Humsafars and think I have found something to watch that I will enjoy...do share your views...would love to hear them...

IPK1 was the first desi soap I watched for any significant length of time, and it really hooked me in...Now I am no authority on Gul or other makers...and I didn't watch QH ...but based on what I have seen on IPK1, and these two episodes...and what I hear about Geet...I think I have a feeling on why I like brand Gul...so here goes...in context of this show

The female lead is very principled...has a lot of self confidence...yet she is not obnoxious and is quite likable...
She has a wonderful family...who is not rich by any means but very loving...yet not over the top...the sisters who have their aspirations yet they all love the family in their own way (ok not so sure about the middle one...who seems like Lydia in Pride and Prejudice...
The household is an easy going one...with fun and noK jhonk...one could just watch that and have fun...
There is a filthy rich dude who is disagreeable to say the least...yet he has a sort of quiet vulnerability about him...that makes the girls want to take care of him...
There are conflicts created in every episode...to show the contrast between the ML and FL...and chance meetings...
There are underlying issues in the family...that make the viewer intrigued...
The story moves slowly ...each emotion is given a long time to play out...some times too long some might say...
And most of all...her stories are romantic stories...not Saas Bahu story cloked as romantic stories...where you want to know so where they go from here...and she takes her time getting there...

And then there are flying dupattas...and Lucknow...sweet Lucknow...now how can you not love that...all in all it makes a good viewing experience...

Oh...I realize the ML ...is very popular...but this is the first show I am watching of him...so no comments...just that interesting...I will probably like him...lets see...And BTW...I too LOVE burnt toast...not only burnt toast...but burnt rice ...burnt kheer...and Creme brulee too...that's also burnt...😆

Looking forward to watching the show...

Good to see you snow! The board seems to be very slow...perhaps that's a good thing...Too much analysis kills a show,,,.😛

Hi Sush!!

Lovely to see another familiar face!

And your posts have been must read for me since I started reading them.

After the last show which I stopped watching midway this is the one that appealed... For all the reasons you say!

Mostly because I also like shows that are primarily love stories... And yes.. Clichd or oft repeated.. This dark hero and bright heroine concept is interesting.. It's always nice to see how they show the transformation from brooding hero to romantic one!

And this hero is really dark from the looks of it.. More than the earlier ones... No redeeming qualities have been shown.. No attachment to any family member to soften him.. However there are glimpses that he doesn't really want to be this way even in the two epis shown so far... The almost smile that he controlled after the way his car started was one such I felt... The way he looks at the design made by Arzoo is another one...

So I like the start of this journey... Hope to share more thoughts with you as it progresses

This is my second show after IPK although i did watch few episodes of GEET.

Gul's way of showing romance is like reading M and B's. 😃 Love is in air from start to end.

Her male and female leads are high on values 👍🏼 Most of the time ML is not shown drinking, or having multiple affairs. Despite having attitude and anger, they respect woman in general except FL until they fall in love.

For me no kitchen politics, loving caring family and the most imp no EMA's, high family values, high in general personal ethics, no saas bahu saga and most imp showing how a male in the family can be a threat to the woman of the family. There is a human quotient too which is a biggie for me,

Hugs Sush... For me, simply bcz it will be an intense love story, with good looking leads who are good actors to boost as well as sharing some sizzling chemistry!
From the few shows I've watched despite wanting a solid bg story, hardly any PH deliver due to the different pressures that befall in this line of work.
But I don't really like the extra chirpy heroine... I prefer someone amusing, funny yet with a certain sense of sophistication, which Gul takes Extra caution NOT to present.
She is good with her passionate love stories...This is her forte... I enjoy watching the journey of them falling slowly & fighting madly against their feelings.

Seen as tho I'm here for entertainment this is more my cup of tea 😉 😆

Well I'm a sucker for mills and boons romance and if it has to be with Gul Khan she is a Pro in these kind of love stories so y not give it a try 😳

Although she kinda ruins her own show too eg. IPKKND but oh well in the beginning is always interesting
As long as it is why not give a try and I love the male lead too I have seen his earlier shows and liked him there so looking forward to see how he does a dark man

Not very impressed with the female lead yet she is ok ok will give her some time

Anyways looking forward to see your post please try to make it regular Sush
