This serial is based on the Turkish series Istanbullu Gelin (Bride from Istanbul)
Same kind of story, autocratic mother, 4 sons, the eldest is having some issues with his mother, the 3rd brother they showed yesterday in the 1st episode, with specs, is a poet and loves reading.
The main lead, Surili, happy go lucky, same as the Turkish actress whose name was Sureiya. They have almost copied the name, even the hairstyle they copied it from the Turkish actress and even the clothes.
The story has started off in the same way as the Turkish series, rich man from an autocratic rich family, their family is royalty in their town, meets a middle class girl who is independent, no nonsense, speaks out honestly. Met at a coffee shop, now the man will fight with his new business partner for her honour. Same breaking of the musical instrument. Same forecasting of the future by a housemaid. Even the starting background music between the main leads is a spin off from the Turkish music.
Let's see if the Indian version will follow the Turkish one completely, if so, it will be good as the Turkish series was a superhit and one of my favourites.
This show is suppose to be a Turkish shows remake I wonder if its copying Istanbul Gelin coz the story so far seems similar overbearing mother four sons, older son marrying free spirited girl the mom disapproves. That show was based on a psychiatrists book about her patients and was a real story till they veered off the original track.
Even in todays episode they showed the younger brother have an asthma attack and the fl helping him same as in the turkish version.
I feel execution wise story is bit on and off at times like it's really not much on par right now. For the FL, I felt it was bit overtly bubbly at times even though she tries to her hide financial pain by putting up a smile and helping others a lot.Originally posted by: manny136

ML seems to have some estranged relationship with his mother due to her tactics in executing her decisions. For example, overriding the promise that Shiv made to the governor for the education of the Ranakgarh girls. The mother's part where she consults some psychotic was bit overdone in terms of the mother fearing over some prediction regarding Shiv getting enticed.

They are making the FL the typical itv bubbly one who hides her pain under a smile lol in the og version surraiya was more realistic and she had a more realistic approach as well though even she made mistakes.
ML is gonna have certain strained moments with his mother especially when she tries to impose her will on his love life. In the og this isnt even the first woman she drove off from the ml life and we will see that in the future when the ex comes back but no sure will this version have that track.
The consulting the psychic thing was weird lol in the og version there was this maid who predicted things she had some visions and feelings and was from a village where those old wives tales kind of traditions still went on so the mom asked her and she also felt things or predicted them, mostly about the bahus lol
