Here what I found about this festival:

Navratri: It is celebrated all over the India and is said to be the festival which shows the festie colors of India. Navratri is a time where nine forms of Hindu goddesses like Durga, Bhadrakali, Amba or Jagadamba, Annapurna, Sarvamangala, Bhairavi, Chandika or Chandi, Lalita and Bhavani are worshipped each day. It is celebrated on first day of Hindu month of Ashwin. The people eat only one meal on a day and observe fast for whole day.

Navratri is the most awaited festival of the year in Gujarat and Rajasthan as people from all walks of life come together and play Dandiya.
